  1. I am not sure if some one has asked this question on this forum before, but I am very much interested to know what are the laws and requirements to register an Interpretation/Translation agency as a legal company with Thai partners in Thailand? and what are the certification requirements for foreigners to work as interpreters/translators in major languages to work with this company? Any recommendation of a good law firm who have any experience in this particular field will be greatly appreciated.

  2. My name is my name. If anyone asked for a pic I'd post it. Some of us occasionally appear from behind the cone of silence once you get to know us.

Nothing and no one to hide from here:)

Welcome to the Dark Blue Side.thumbsup.gif

  3.

Correct.  Some one who already has a blue book and becomes a Thai citizen retains the same blue book and ID number.  Their nationality is altered in the blue book manually in red ink.  Only those who become Thai without PR through being married to a Thai would have to upgrade from a yellow book to a blue one.

Your reference to blue books and yellow books suggests you are referring to house registration books

I am referring to the Certificate of Residence booklet (dark blue) originally issued by Bangkok Immigration confirming Thai  Permanent residency.

If your blue PR book is full, you can obtain a new one from CW immigration but this time the color will be white.

  4. I have been driving in Thailand for 15 years, the capacity of my European car's gas tank is 70 liters, once to my surprise, it was filled with 76 liters of benzene 95, Posted Image , I complained to the gas station manager and he simply accepted their fault, apologized and charge me for 70 liters.Posted Image

Unless you were towed in with an empty tank you were still scammed.

That is the laughing matter, I was not out of fuel and they were claiming 76 liters on their scale, when they realized my complain they just simply opologized.

  6. Dear K'Juarawee, your topic is misinterpretation. Farang is not equal foreigner, this is well known in TH seems only zou don't know.

Can be 200-300 homeless foreigners in TH especially in BKK but I have never seen white European (farang) homeless but I have seen many African and Asian foreigners to live in streets.

If I see homeless farang, I will talk to hem, I will ask why is he in need and what can I help him.

    That's all.

So generous of you, meet me any place between sukhumvit soi 1-Ashoke after 22:00 hrs, and I will led you the places these westerners sleeping., and trust me they are "farang"

It is only for this years applications.

I guess it might give a push to ministry to get all the pending applications moving.

That would mean 2009, 2011 and last years 241 applications. That could well total up to over 700 applications.

Only 241 applied in 2012...would have thought it would have been much higher number...doesn't appear people are knocking down the door to obtain PR status...probably due to the cost and the   l..........o...........n............g   wait to obtain approval.

That really is a tiny number especially considering the huge numbers of tourists that visit Thailand every year - surely I would have thought there would be like 100,000 applications for PR in Thailand every year? Or maybe that's just me thinking that everyone out there thinks Thailand is as desirable a place to live as Australia, the USA, Canada, etc. which each have hundreds of thousands (or more) PR applications each year.

Number of applicants seeking PR status in Thailand is in Thousands/per year, but the number of "Qualified" applications accepted by Immigration are in hundreds, the number of applications accepted for CONSIDERATION last year was 241 (if I am not wrong), Here I would like to share one more thing, the number of application approved from the badge of 2006 were only 100+.

Correct, but I was told that it was less than 900 that applied in December 2012. 241 made the cut as of the publishing date of this newspaper article. I was also told that if Immigration accepts the application, chances are excellent that the PR will be approved.

    .

According to the law, the quota per nationality is 100 persons per year, though number of applicants may differ on year to year basis.

As far as appovals are concerned, it really works on case to case basis, acceptance of application is one thing but approval is another.
