Be careful. We went with them for two years and a lot of promise but very little was true. There sell people was making side business all the time and want to help us but to very heavy discount. You will never get the price they promise you, if they ever help you at all.

we buy betagro they don't buy back here in buriram. I will have to go korat and find out as here in buriram selling local takes to long or try sell ourselves at markets but don't really want go that route thanks for getting back to me jompao

I think you should find another feed dealer that can give buy back service. Betagro just want you to buy there stuff and then they pissing in your face. I will never do any kind of business with them again.

Do korat collect?  As I got 22 to sell all 100 kg+

Yes, that's why they pay less. Transportation cost and weight loss during transportation.

Talk with your local feed dealer. They use to buy back finisher if you buy there food.

thats a good price, we used to have access to 2 units, the cheaper one being a chinese unit, i think the cheap one was 80,000 baht plus and the good one from usa was 140,000 baht plus..... they both just detected mass/blobs, could not see if alive or mummified....

using this unit do you find it 100 percent correct? ie never no late Not In Pig...mummified litters

Our workers just use it to find out if they are pregnant or not. It can scan deeper than many other of more expensive models but we have not test it for mummified yet.

  6. We don't move our sows during the first 30 days after insemination due to stress. We also limited the feed to 2 Kg. Both stress and feed can have a negative impact on body temperature. The embryo is very sensitive to just this.

After second heat check, we move them to a group room with space for 7 - 10 sows, where they can socialize with other sows (take a bathe and relax :D). We also increase feed to 2.5 kg for normal size sow. After day 84 (i think) we increase again to 3 kg per sow.

  7. Now it has happened again. Yesterday we received 26 piglets from a sow. 21 was born alive and the weight was almost Ok. Some time ago we got 27 in total but many were stillborn. How common is this? Is it anyone here who has been involved in something like before?

  8. Piglet up 100 bath to 1700+/- 59 bath/kg.

We still have around 40 piglets (20 - 24 kg) left to be sold before songkran, so if you are interested, drop me a message.

We sell them at last week price and I may be available to arrange for transport.

50 bath discount if you pick them up at the farm by your self.

  9. Anyone know real price in Isaan for finisher pig? I know the announced price is 57 bath/Kg at the moment, but how much have you guys get for real? 57 is what seller wants, but how much is the buyer willing to pay?

We have about 100 pigs that can be sold in the comings weeks. We have a buyer from Konken area who wants to pay 49 bath/Kg on Thursday (29/3 2018). Just the day before the new regional prices will be announced.

A week ago when the announced price was 53 in Isaan, a market meat seller told me that Betagro are selling to him for 47 bath/Kg.

  10. Last year, the pig market grew by 18% while neighboring countries experienced problems with their local market. As a result, Thailand had a problem exporting to Cambodia. In the same time, Vietnam had created a trade agreement with U.S.A. Conspiracy or not, China decided to close all imports from Vietnam and increase their own production. So Vietnam market totally collapsed. Vietnam then try to dump local production on Cambodia.

    What a mess...

  11. Thai pig market is running in cycles on 5 to 6 years period here in Thailand. The meat price is drop to far under production cost and feed is going up. Then after a while it recover and then you have 4 - 5 year with good price and you can start build a buffer for next dip. That's how many medium size farms do to survive. Some people says, it is the big companies that clean out medium and small size farmers from maker so they can take there share of market. I don't know the true but i should't be surprised.

thats a lot of returns..... with returns like that it will be impossible to get 30 psy.....  good  uniformed weaning kg though.555

I agree it looks little bit strange. It is the new insemination that counts as a failed insemination. Thanks for info, i will correct in the program.

jompa, how did you do with on the weaning numbers-kg on the above then?

had afew births this week in your league, 2 mums birthed alive 20 and 22 with average kg at 1.4 on both litters in the same day, have left all said pigs with mums as the other mums in same birthing time/ range are all 14/15 at the mo, on the same day as the 2 mums above had a gilt birth 10 mummified, 2 still born and what i call 5 not 100 perecnt, all out cold, total loss again!!! she was also an aggressive animal trying to bite the piglets.... said mum is in the cull pen waiting to exit the farm....

had higher than normal mummified piglets over the past 2 weeks, but again the same trend when there is mummified piglets the mums born alive stats are very high.... always like this over many years now.... at the time of AI it was not even hot either....for the past year we have been keeping records of morning and afternoon temp/weather conditions/windflow on fans ect.. in and outside farm, just another add on to the mountain of daily paper work for the farm.

been out visiting some other farms in the area,  we have got some construction/improvement work about to start, and all have many heat lamps burning coz of the colder weather at the mo....

We do not have statistics about kg after weaning . We'll start with it but as it looks now we do not. What I know is that those lightweight piglets need longer to reach the target weight. I would guess one week longer.

The average weaned is 11.81 piglets / litter during December month. We moved the small piglets to a foster sows and never had more piglets than the sow have nipples. We also practicing 2 step nursing, as I wrote about before.

We use to have mummified piglets as well, especially when they are gilts and have many piglets. It's not enough space in the belly plus they need more food than usual. When the number of mummified piglets are high as you describe, I would guess she had a sickness of some kind during early stage of pregnancy.

  14. Contact information

    Wanphen Farm

    +66 890014266

We have been a customer to perfeqc feed supplier for 1,5 year now and they promise a lot but keep very little. What we need is end customer not the sharks. After a lot of pressure, we got contact information to someone that buy for market price minus 100 bath (shark). We talked a few times with him and he seams good. We just need to call him a few days in advance. Great a deal... But when the times come he had a lot of excuses and start pressing the price down and when when he relaise that we will not sell on hes terms he start to talk with an "ugly" language to my wife.

Perfect have customer that can buy our piglets but every time we ask for contact information to end customer, they come up with fantasy prices. The say, there is farms selling piglets for 1000 bath. Maybe there is someone with low cash-flow that are in need of money.  Nobody can make money on such low price. Other people in the business warning us and say that the reason is probably "side-business" from sells-men from our food supplier. I don't know what to believe but something is terribly wrong

Why is't there a market place where buyer and seller can meet??????

    Here is some calculations

Sow medical     Days Kg food/day 150.00
    Seamen         150.00
    Gestation feed     125 2.20 3,575.00
    Lacation feed     28 9.00 3,780.00
              7,655  Per Litter

    Average Weaned 10.5
    Sow Feed Cost/Piglet 729
    Piglet vaccine cost 199
    Creepfeed & milk 50
Tot per weaned piglet 978 bath

    Fixed cost per month

    Worker 1 9,000 THB
    Worker 2 9,000 THB
    Worker 3 9,000 THB
    Worker 4 9,000 THB
    Worker 5 9,000 THB

    Maintenence 10,000 THB
    Electricity 25,000 THB
    Salary 0 THB
    Car 2,000 THB
    Disel 6,000 THB
    Mortage 48,000 THB
      136,000 THB

136 000 / 330 piglets = 412 bath per piglet. Then add the cost for piglet 978 bath.

A profession farm with loan from a bank will have a minimum cost of 1300 - 1400 bath per piglet. Keep in mind that this is without salary to us and a company needs to make profit. Then the numbers will be even higher.

The only way to increase the margins is to have more piglets or cut in the vaccine program.

This is the number i came up with. You guys maybe have a different view. Please comment.

Any contact information to potential customer is appreciated or any kind of help.

  15. Hi guys,

Do any of you know where to sell larger quantity's of piglets. We starting to have much more than we can sell in the area where we live (200 - 300 per month). And our feed supplier have fail to help us. We know that there is many raiser that want to have piglets at 22 kg, but where to find them? Do you know if there is any place on the web where buyer and seller can meet?

  16. Hi,

In the end of this year i will setup E-Wap on one of our shed with dimension 15m x 30m. It will be used for farrowing. Do any of you know how to calculate the number of fans i need?

One seller told me 3 - 4 another want me to have 8 - 10. One fan will flush out 45.000 cubic meter air per hour. With three fans it will exchange 35 - 40 cubic meter air every seconds. That is equal to around 1 meter air per seconds.

I have exactly the same problem with cooling pad, how to calculate?

    /Jonny

  17. Just got an upgrade to 50/10 and if i'm connected by TP-cable, I get full speed but if i connect with WIFI I only get 22 Mbit (30 cm from modem).

The response from customer service is that the modem has a max speed of 24 Mbit through WIFI. If i read at the box it says 300 Mbit.

Can any1 confirm that this is a problem.

    Yes, it is a problem.

DO NOT BUY THE 1500 BATH VDSL MODEM FROM 3BB (HG630).

I had two new technical guys here today with a new router but the problem remains. I think this device is capped in some way.

They also blame my equipment for not having capacity to handling such high speed as 50 MBit, LOL CMON. So we connected an old WIFI router 300 Mbit to one of the port on the VDSL device and connected through that to internet. Speed-test showing 47Mbit. So something is really wrong with the WIFI in the VDSL modem.

My advice is to buy TP-Link or similar VDSL modem.
