Let me ask you this: If the US decided to have a call up, do you think there would or would not be a public outcry?

Oh my god we have soldiers being called up that already have done their duty i have seen some on the news and they are whining about it. They have the experience. We are at war Thailand and whatever coalition i have been hearing about was not forced into this Did u ever hear of treatys?? These things have already been signed

I am old enough to go 34 I would rather it be me then have a 18 or 19 year old to go I have had a life, these younger men haven't Yes terrorism has been around for years and the only one i see doing something about it is isreal in my opinion.

Maybe it's time all nations came together and stop arguing and stamp this terrorists once and for all.

You have a very selfish friend sir, I live in the states and I saw on the news recently a soldier deserting his unit because he disagreed with the war in iraq. He is not even an american citizen. he is now back in the states "safe" whatever safe means nowadays. I have something to ask, if 9/11 happend in thailand or a terrorist incident happend there who would your friend pay to get out of it.

I see on the news everyday americans dying pretty much for the world not just for the USA and everyone is arguing about it. Only a few country's have said thank you. I know if another terrorist incident happens again in the US I am going to be with the men who are going to fight.

Well I was in wonderment on how HOT it was Also had the very good opportunity of being taught by many a thai not to show the bottoms of your feet to anyone. I learned the customs from my mom later on I was amazed at how friendly thai people are and how much they smiled. I left thailand when i was very young. 3 yrs old Use to people in the US not as much smiles as in thailand. i had the question the first time i visited why men walk with men and women walk with women but men and women don't walk hand in hand like the aboved mentioned other than that i didn't have that many questions

If you were born in Thailand and went to another country to live for the better part of your life  Are you considered a Farang?

A very good question and still a wonderment that I have since it's the story of my life. But I would think farang is more of a reference to caucasion men or women, since I don't hear Thais calling africans, japanese, or any other foreigners "farang".

But there is the concept of a "farang point of view" which is widely common with Thai individuals that in some way spent a period of their lives abroad.

As for American women and porn, we do and are curious but not specifically about looking at pornography, we just do it more discreetly. Another reason why maybe Thais make such a big deal over the sex and pornography issue may be stemming from the censoring and repression of it unlike western counterparts where sex is an open issue. But it is a fact that women do like looking at other women's bodies than men's bodies.

Thanks shopgurl for the answers to my questions, your are right about the white farang thai people can spot them from miles away i am joking of course. I was at my wife's home and she had friends come by She had told them I was fom America So they thought i was Farang, They were surprised to see I look thai I am mixed blood so to speak Half Thai and Half Farang.

I think I am lucky to be exposed to two different cultures. Well I was just wondering about this Because after her friends saw me I was not called a farang anymore. But to think of it I am. It's confusing sometimes. I just wanted somone's else's opinion on this.

My 4 times to thailand well the last two were spent with my wife, But of course I am a man and looked at the bars i did see I mean the women inside I can see why men would be attracted i guess i am a virgin to this topic because I went to thailand to see thailand not to go to the bars, I was offered to go with my cousin he lives in bangkok, but it never happend. the invitation was offered during my first 2 trips to thailand.
