I am coming back to Pattaya after a 2 year absense, and was wandering if anyone could help me out - i usually stay at the AA hotel (at bottom of soi 13) as i like the pool overlooking beach road but was wandering if anyone would have a contact number for them? ive looked on the internet and just cant seem to find anything, would be much appreciated.

Last time i was there the price was 650 baht a night is it still around the same? also heard rumours of a nice hotel next to Lek hotel on 2nd road any ideas of a price on that one.

My wife went for her first day at work today, and they asked her to produce her work visa.

She is in the country on a wifes settlement visa with the only restriction being to public funds, so i explained that on the phone and said she is entitled to work with this visa, but they are certain she must also have a work visa is this right??

I assumed that with the only restriction being to public funds this means she can work am i right? she has an interview for a national insurance number tommorrow so just wanted to clarify things.

A good thing this time.

Last month i returned to Heathrow Terminal 2 and went with the Mrs (on a settlement visa) into the non EU queue and what a surprise we went straight to the front as there was no queue whereas the EUqueue was lined all the way back.

The immigration officer was really nice to, they said its usually like this as terminal 2 is a European terminal so paid off connecting in Europe.

The health check only took a couple of mins with Xray and Certificate done before travel to, was actually quicker for us than it usually takes me by myself.

Just wandering myself, my wifes visa started on May 1st 2005 but we arnt arriving in UK until May 24th, so does that mean we can apply for ILR from May 1st 2007 or May 24th?

If its May 24th does that mean we have to get extension to her 2 year wife visa? is that even possible?

Phoned the job centre to try and arrange an interview for the mrs to geta national insurance number when we get back but the bloke said that he cant give me an interview date until she actually starts working then it will take 10 days for the interview and another 6 weeks to recieve the number, does this sound right? so she will be paying emergency tax for 7/8 weeks?

Anyway of getting around it? and getting the interview before she starts work so wont get emergeny taxed as much?

Could i say she will be cleaning my mates house and get him to knock a letter together saying he is going to employ her?

Hard Rock Hotel is resonably prices 1800 baht for the month and that includes the Gym, Sauna, Steam room and use of the pool and towels, Well worth it if your staying in an apartment without pool.

Just out of interest would customs take them of you bringing them into the country? what about taking the thai green curry paste back to the UK? get them swiped then?

Just had a look at there website, they used to have a contact number under the customer services bit but looks like they have replced that by booking hotels and cottages numbers, they also used to give a phone number at the bottom of all emails sent to take it they dont.

Only number i could find was in a newspaper.

Had a few probs with there website few weeks ago to kept putting my dates and flights but kept putting me back to the original screen.

Luckily i have the weird scenario here in Peru of phoning the airline direct and actually getting far cheaper flights than any travel agents or the online companies, weird.

I think theres one called Blue Beach Massage School situated on second road just down from Tops opposite the Hard Rock hotel, If i remember right i think it was 2 weeks 9-5 for about 3000 - 5000 baht something like that, Thai and English certificate.

You can actually book tickets from Bkk - Lhr on ebookers not sure of the price though, on there main page it only allows from UK but if you go to bottom of the page you see all diff flags click on the world icon and it allows you to get prices for worldwide flights.

I can remember when i was a kid in the early 80´s and England had a pretty good team mainly beacuse they had the nucleus of the Liverpool team, If they are going to match that again they will need to get 5/6 English players at Chelsea.

Im a neutral with the Premier league (i support lowly Swansea) but i just hope Gerrard doesnt go, the top teams need to try and keep there assests.

I know people have been saying it for the past decade near enough but i think Liverpool are almost there, ther spaniards they have brought in are performing well and with Cisse, Kewell and Baros fully fit and also Garcia and Morientes they have a good strike force. Gerrard is key though they need him to stay.

If they can hit 4th spot this year and maybe get to the semis of the champions league they will go into next season full of confidence.

I'd be very surprised if they were US marines, especially if there were 4 of them, as they would have obliterated others in a fight.

Rinrada, yep an EU passport and welsh to boot. You said if she has got an indef visa, well she has got the settlement visa but this will be her first time in the Uk, safe risking the EU line??
