  1. Some one arrives at consulate office with passport full of Thai stamps, they suspect they are working there. They now have a reason to say no or make it harder unless they get there shz..t together.

Same applies for those living here in retirement on tourist visas etc.

Average tourist will not be affected at all.

Seems to me get appropriate visa all ok, I do feel for those in limbo however for eg the younger person in retirement.

A lot of teachers working illegally don't want to work illegally. Their schools/companies just aren't organized enough to get them work permits & the proper visa.

There are also plenty of people who work online, play poker, write novels, etc who live on tourist visas.

Anyways if this law gets enforced strictly, particularly the part about needing 60 days of hotel reservations, I'll probably just move to Cambodia and spend my money there.

  2. I've messed around making (crossfaded) mixes with Sound Forge and CD Architect.

But I don't know how to do it live and I don't know my way around equipment.

    Please teach me.

I can pay you a little bit or exchange for some other service.

    Let me know if interested.

  3. Went to the post office and that was a dead end.

They seemed mildly incompetent and basically said they didn't know and I should check with the people who sent it. Even though I've not received several things from different senders.

    Anything else I can do?

  4. Hello I'm an American living in Thailand looking for a job.

I previously worked at a Fortune 20 distribution company (Cardinal Health) and at one of the best hospitals in the US (New York Presbyterian) doing inventory management and cost reduction, first in a consulting role with Cardinal Health and then directly at point-of-use at a hospital.

I'm proficient in Excel and Access. I'm familiar with requisitioning, transitioning a replenishment system from pencil and paper to handhelds, and various techniques for calculating appropriate on-hand inventory levels based on past usage.

I'm bright and responsible and very capable of completing projects independently.

I have a resume available. Message me if interested. Thank you

  5. I think officially the times are:

    Mon-Sat: 0800 - 1100 and 1500 - 1800

But I was going 1800-2000 up until recently, so it's pretty flexible.

And the prices are officially the same as you quoted snamos, but as I said they don't have many students so a 300 baht lesson will be a private lesson anyways.

I don't know how advanced you are, but this might not be good if you've been training a long time.

  6. Near Bangkok Hospital

    Small gym

I've been doing it a few weeks now. Started as a complete beginner.

It's 3,000/month with nothing to pay on top of that. Pads/gloves are all free to use. 6 days a week for 1-2 hours every day.

At the bigger muay thai gyms it's more like 10,000/month, so it's a real good deal.

I've been getting private lessons because they don't have a lot of students. It's just me and 1 or 2 trainers.

I'm not getting any money for bringing people in. Just trying to help them out, and I need a sparring partner or two.

    Message me if interested.

  7. There used to be a good copy place on Sainamyen road, right hand side just before it meets Rat-U-Thit. Don't know if it is still there or not. Also, I've had stuff copied before at the place that prints english newspapers everyday. They used to be on the small soi off Rat-U-Thit on the right hand side just before Christin massage but I think they have moved to a new place.

Thanks Frank. I'll scout it out and see if they can do it.

  8. Don't see the problem, this is a very simple job you can get done at lots of places. Any shop advertising like "copy and fax" outside will be able to do it, and many photo shops and computer maintainance places as well. In my office I have a scanner (bought for a pittance a long time ago), so I would probably do it myself, spreading it out over a week or so because the work is so boring. If in a hurry, I would simply go to one of these places, they're all over Phuket.

End of story, as far as I am concerned.

The problem is that would take a very long time and cost a lot of money.

  9. Weird comments.

If I would like to scan documents and would not know where, I would prefer to have recommendations from this community members. I would like also like to have an selection of shops which has previously performed well.

I would not go for the first self promoting offer which was 'I can do that...' without any company name. Just a random person on the board with an scanner. Yes - more information was released later on, but not on the initial reply.

Yeah just looking for the locations of a couple shops I could get it done at for a reasonable price with little hassle.

If anyone knows any, I will be obliged.

  10. I just asked my thai staff at my not professional office filled with not professional commercial quality scanning equipment how much the extremely professional thai shops charge and was told about 30b/page.

That's for shops with only small 1-page-at-a-time scanners.

Which is what I said I don't want.
