Thanks, and how / where does she get it? From the condo owner or from the immigration?
Does she need anything from the condo owner?
-
OK, this is getting a little confusing.
Does she need to do TM30 or resident certificate, or anything else other than the documents mentioned in post #2?
-
I'm going to resurrect this year old topic, on behalf on my mom.
She's on a single entry tourist visa with 2 months stamp in her passport, she's planning to stay in Thailand for 3 months so would need to do the extension once.
Have the requirements changed in the last year?
Is it still the same list of documents that is needed, that was mentioned in the posts above?
Basically passport + copies, photos, money and a proof of residence?
She's got a rental agreement from the condo owner, will this work as a proof of residence?
Thanks
-
I don't really need a yearly extension, I will have to fly back to Canada in a month or two to finish some business so 60 days is all I need now
-
@Eclipse is the above needed for a yearly extension or extension of any length?
Who determines how long of an extension someone gets?
-
Thanks as usual guys, very helpful.
However reading all other posts here, I got more confused.
1. I read about yearly extensions here. Is it possible to get a yearly extension to stay based on marriage? If so, how is it done and what documents needed.
2. I also read about a requirement to show 400K THB in the bank to get an extension. I thought that was only needed when renewing a visa based in marriage, not getting an extension???

And the last question, is there any particular immigration office I have to go to? The closest to me would be in Korat but I actually live in Chaiyaphoom province. Can I go to any other provincial immigration office? I know I can go to one in BKK but I don't like crowds so would like to avoid BKK.
-
Oh and another question is do I need to do a 90 days reporting or will it be done automatically once I get my 60 days extension?
Sorry never had to do it as I've never stayed here longer than 90 days.
-
Thanks @rober507 you saved me some of the typing.
I'm in exact same boat, I have a Non O multiple entry based on marriage and my 90 days stamp expires on 15/02.
Is there a need to prove your residence or the above mentioned 4 documents are all that is required?
-
I've applied for a new passport and will go back to my Can embassy to pick it up in a few days.
My Non-O based on marriage has expired already but my entry stamp is good until the end of October.
I'll make a trip to Vientiane in a month or so to get a new visa, but in the main time do I need to do anything with the entry stamp, which is in the old passport, which I requested to get back?
I've heard that it's even possible to use the still valid visas from the old passport, to enter/exit the country with a new passport, just need to present the old passport with visa at immigration. In my case however there will be no visa from the old passport as it has already expired. Can I just show them my old passport with the entry stamp together with my new passport when I do the border crossing, or do I have to go to immigration to transfer it into a new passport?

Guys, I'm going to resurrect this topic as my Non-O based on marriage I got in Edmonton, would expire in one month.
Since I'm in Thailand now and have no plans going back to Edmonton any time soon, I'd need to apply from within Thailand, or one of the neighboring countries.
I guess I'd need financial proof now? Or is it still not needed when applying from outside of Thailand, say Laos?
If the proof is needed, now much is it?
How long money will need to be on the account or there is no time frame requirement?

Have seen one some years ago in Northern Canada or Alaska, don't remember where I was at the time.

Well we called the finance company and they said we can't take the car or of the country unless we pay it off. I previously heard a different story like they allow to take the car out after you have been paying for at least 6 months, sometimes a little longer, but in my case I've been paying for 4 and a half years!
It looks like the answer may depend on an agent you talk to. Regardless, when I asked how long to get a book if I decided to pay it off, which I could, they said it would be a few weeks, which is a little too late. Decided to travel by bus again this time.
There may be more that I'm not aware about traveling to Cambodia by car, the blue book is just part of the equation.
If someone knows more about what else may be required to take a car out, please share.

Hi there, I'm planning a trip to Cambodia and planning to take my car there.
For myself I'm going to apply for an online visa but not very clear what to do regarding a car.
The car is on finance and will be paid off in about 6 months, I don't have the blue book on hands, only the copy.
Do I have to have an original book to take the car there or a copy would work?
What are the boarder procedures regarding a car when taking it across?

You're right NS, I forgot that Thailand is a huge exporter for the Asia and other countries all over the world. Good point.
-
Yes. That is how I understand it.

Definately could not be a scam. Far too complicated
Nope, sounds far too easy.

Here are the ACTUAL TrueMove-H webpage listing the TrueMove-H Terms and Conditions Extra Package promotion (Thai language only, sorry, but you can use Google Translate)
384kbps Internet Data Promotion
384 kbps unlimited -- same-day* 14฿ *900*1901#
384 kbps unlimited -- 7-day* 69฿ *900*1902#
512kbps Internet Data Promotion
512 kbps unlimited -- same-day* 09฿ *900*8908#
512 kbps unlimited -- 7-day* 59฿ *900*8909#
* Promotion will terminate automatically at 23:59 o'clock on the last day of subscription
Strange their 512 kbps are cheaper than the 384 kbps, what's the catch?
I always use code *900*3339# which gives me 1GB unlimited for 30 days at a full speed (42 mbps) and then throttled down to 128 kbps thereafter. Plus unlimited WiFi and all that for 399 baht.
If the above 512 kbps are truly unlimited (speed and data vise), it might be a better choice if access to True WiFi hotspots is not required. I don't watch streaming video so the full 42 mbps is not necessary but it's really noticeable when I hit my 1 GB limit and the speed drops to 128.
Gonna try 512 kbps unlimited -- 7-day* 59฿ *900*8909# next time.

Anyone seen them before?
Nope. Could it be some sort of scam?

@papa al - These sort of pole flags often used off-road on dirtbikes so you're visible from behind the hill before you come up the hill.

Kodari, Nepal, magnitude 6.7

There was another earthquake 10 min ago, I felt is again in Dhaka.
Don't know where the epicenter is now but suspecting it's in Nepal again. Poor souls.
Waiting for the official news now.

Sure they can be unlocked I see some units are sold locked to a specific provider, while other units (same models) can be used with any provider. How to unlock them is a different question.
I'm personally very happy with the WIFI hotspot sharing on my mobile(s). With a larger battery phones (or with an aftermarket battery) draining your phone juice isn't an issue.
My main phone is Note 3 with 10,000 mah ZeroLemon battery and I only change it 2x per week with average usage. It's really hard to drain that monster battery in one day.
My other (work) phone is Sony Z1 which has a 3000 mah battery and it easily lasts one day with moderate usage, but if I would share the WIFI all day it might not last.
I really don't want to carry another gadget in my pocket, have plenty already to worry about and keep track of battery charges, etc.
Pattaya: Russians staying in holiday condos and eating economically - restaurants at resort suffering

Y'all spittin' out hatered wouldn't tell a difference between Russian, Ukrainian or any other Eastern European. Bet many of ya didn't even know where or what Ukraine was prior to the 2014 conflict when it made international news. In my experience (and I have a 1st hand experience being labled and discriminated against due to my looks as I was born in Belarus but immigrated to Canada over 2 decades ago) all Eastern Europeans were (are???) labeled as Russians so make sure you reserve your hate to those who deserve it. Simply being a "Russian" is not a crime
