  4. We are missing many parcels from overseas, small inexpensive things but still. We never ever had one parcel go missing in Kata. Kata post office is fantastic.
We have just moved our health food company/ office to Cherng Talay and moved our residence too. Since August I have had at least 5 small packet/envelope things missing.
Misc stuff too like small electronic parts from Ebay China etc. I have gone to Talang to complain.

Sometimes our packages can be picked up in Cherng Talay and the staff is quite nice there. We are there daily shipping packages out. But sometimes the notification is for Talang.

If the staff is rotating then there is a high probability of theft. I hope someone is enjoying the Japanese printed ribbon worth 40 baht, 2 purple waterproof iPhone cases and the worst, 2 USA drivers license.

One time we even got our EMS noticed delivered on SUNDAY! Which means the civil servant must have "taken his work home with him".

I am wondering if anyone has lost packages addressed to a THAI name?

  5. Hi we just wanted to introduce Good Karma to let you know that we have a very limited but available supply of Nutritional Yeast in stock now and available here in Thailand.

We are located in Thailand and are online store so we can ship anywhere in Thailand by EMS.

Orders are easily made through our website.

Order soon as it won't last long.
Be sure and check out our great selection of raw nuts, seeds, sugar-free and gluten-free items in addition to our super food too. We have many hard to find items and when you order from us there is no need to worry about international shipping complications. (aka Thai Customs).

Normally we post in the Health and Body forum but noticed a few request for nutritional yeasts in this forum.

Phuket residents can order online pick up at our location in Cherng Talay.

    http://www.healthfoodthailand.com/

If you don't know what Nutritional Yeast is it is because it is mainly enjoyed by vegetarians and vegans as it gives food a cheese like flavour and is full of nutrition like B-12 which is difficult to find in a vegetarian diet.

  6. We do sell Tahini and also will soon be geting unhulled as well as hulled. Made from organic sesame seeds.

Thank you for the posts and recommendations. We are in Phuket but ship anywhere in Thailand and have a pick up locagtion in Nai Harn however we will be moving our warehouse to Cherng Talay and have a pick up location there.

The shopping cart system calculates the shipping and we use EMS whichi is usually 2-3 for most of the Thailand. We also send you the EMS tracking info.

We have many health foods and natural foods and some hard to find items as well as monthly specials.

Thank you again for the recommendations!

  9. Actually health supplements, and I would think vitamins would fall in this catagory, are a "restricted item" which means are are permitted 1 month supply.

I have hassled with Thai customs and Thai FDA and seen a Thai doctor who imported some kind of oil (cod?) .. for her daugthers heart condition. She had ordered a case and very expensive and at that point it looked like she was going to lose it all. They don't wrap it back up and send it to the sender so you can get a refund!

Courier you will get taxed on 30% of the value and 30% of the shipping cost. Well with any parcel althouh USPS ones go under the radar.

In addition to the Act imposing the above controls, a number of goods are also subject to import controls under or other relevant agencies. These include:

    • The import of drugs, foods, and supplementary products requires prior licensing from the Food and Drug Administration, the Ministry of Health.

    • The import or export of antiques or objects of art, whether registered or not, requires permission from the Fine Arts Department.

    • The imports of weapons and ammunition, explosives, fireworks and real and replica firearms requires appropriate license from the Ministry of Interior. Other weapons such as electric shock devices must also be declared. Some of these items may require a permit, before importation.

    • The Cosmetic Act stipulates that for the purpose of protection of public health, any importer of controlled cosmetics must provide the name and location of the office and the place of manufacture or storage of the cosmetics, the category, or kind of cosmetics to be imported, and the major components of the cosmetics.

  10. We also carry it in our online health food store but we are currently out of stock and should be restocked in a few weeks. However it is not food grade so not sure if it is suitable for internal use.

I would also check the same with the one at Super Cheap and make sure it is food grade.

http://www.goodkarmathailand.com check in about a few weeks.

  11. HI Pormax,

  12. Great tips about growing the kefir and nice photos. .

We are an online health food store, and a sponsor, and carry organic wheatgrass seeds aka wheat berries here in Thailand. They sprout very well. Personally we have not used them to make rejuvelac but they sprout very well for wheatgrass, a very high percentage rate. Just important to rinse often because of the humidity and avoid the mold and also store in a very good air tight container or fridge. however there seems to be some debate about storing them in the fridge.

    http://www.goodkarmathailand.com

we sell in small quantities and bulk too.

  14. Hi indeed sounds like a food allergy. Where it comes and goes.

Here is some links about the RIbo rash. From personal experience it is awful, although for me it was only at night so I was convinced it was insects. Although after further investigation I think it was from eating something I usually don't eat (American white "chocolate"). Never again.

Here are some links to some really good info about it

    http://www.fedupwithfoodadditives.info/factsheets/635/RIBO1.htm

http://healthybliss.net/ribonucleotides-your-health/ (this was the best one for me.. as the writer of the blob is in Thailand)

  15. My friend rescued a dog and as I was thinking of getting one so I took her in. (don't want more, dont ask me). Mainly needed something to keep the stray cats away and bark at a stranger or 2.. As this is Thailand she runs around freely by my house so I need to get a little tag with my number to put on her caller.

Just realized I could get her microchipped too. Not sure where to get these here? Anyone? By the way I just want to mention that my little street dog (rescued from a Taxi stand in Karon) is the best dog! She is so good!!

As many people say soi dogs are often very good and loyal. She does not bark to much, chew shoes, jump on me. She has obviously been hit or kicked when trying to eat because she is scared every time I try to feed her.

She gets on with my cats ok, friendly with people, etc.....

Anyone thinking of getting a dog should check out PAWS or SOI Dogs for adoption. They have plenty of dogs and cats.

This dog would have ended up at temple and would have had a hard time as she was quite weak and timid. In 3 weeks it is amazing to see how she is getting better.

  16. Interesting as I have problems now. If I buy a new router will it require someone tech to set it up?

  17. Hi if you are a woman you can join Chickynet.com .. it is a social networking site for expat women. They have a mummies group. Don't know much about it myself.
