I and my 11 year old son started the difficult journey from Hawaii  through the morass of documentation and expense to get to Thailand 10 days ago. 

We finally arrived at our Bangkok hotel and were tested and temperature taken twice a day.

Before leaving Hawaii I was informed we could spend 45 minutes a day at the "Relaxation area" by the roof pool. Even was shown a photo of this sublime place. This would occur after our second negative test on our sixth day. Well, that day came and I called the front desk to make arrangements to finally get some fresh air.

I was informed-"New Rule by Government"  We both must stay in room for all 15 days! OUCH!

Has this happened to anyone else?

The will witness affidavits done for various reasons.

thanks-I am no longer married, but have a legal Thai son, 11. Can I get a retirement visa that way?

Thank God the saints at the Canadian Embassy still give income letters and affadvits for almost everything. Including common laws relationships towards Canadian visas. My UK passport sits in the dark dark drawer.

Well - he had to restrain himself and not start killing people again. But other than that, yeah all he had to do was sit and watch Thailand self-destruct...

That said - if some are relocating they probably would have anyway; this is just a good excuse to do it. It's also a good way of putting the stick in the window and tell the Thai government to not raise minimum wages, and to fix the flooding that gets worse every year. You can't control the weather but getting floods under control isn't rocket science. I mean really this sounds like BS to me.

I returned to Thailand a few months ago to find my Thai wife of 6 years had bank financed our paid off car and gambled away $12,000 US.

Said something about her girlfriend and her were "setting up the victim" Didn't work.Now she is mad at the girlfriend-I told her it was her car and her problem when she asked me to pay the bank.

I have filed for divorce b4 she gets everything I own- It's all true about these women.

Why all the negative responses? We have opted to be in LOS, so let us see what is being said with an open, and (maybe) positive mindset!

Well said-If all farangs educated themselves and stood up together, things would change! There are too many of us here to ignore-No more divide and conquer-.Why don't we have a large showing at this meeting-Noyes is on it--Lets see a little attitude change and see .what happens! Can't b any worse.
