Basically just what BritManToo said.
I can't be bothered with all the scams.
Once I have a visa I can just pay the $15 for a shared taxi.
Just don't know if it's available later at night.
I'm not going to waste time dealing with bus touts then doing visa myself while leaving luggage on bus.

I think I'm going to get a visa for Cambodia.
But if I get the 1pm train to Aranyaprathet I won't get there till around 7pm-8pm.
Will there still be shared taxis for about $15 heading to Siem Reap at that time.
In the past I've always arrived around midday and there were guys sorting people into shared taxis.
If worst comes to worst I can stay in Aranyaprathet for a night and get taxi in morning.
Cheers!

Sure, I will.
But little hint now: don't set 2-factor authentication unless you definitely know the phone number you're setting it for. Write it down in Drop or Google Drive.
They put in a SIM card when I bought my iPhone so I didn't even know it. It took a terrible amount of time to track it down.

No, it definitely says 3 days everywhere on Apple to reset passwords.
And I guess the card information was part of what they'll use to verify my request. I didn't give it to a person. I typed it on my computer like you'd add on the app store and they don't have any more or less access than that.
I just wanted to know what steps I'll need to take to add new password ie maybe they will send a 6 digit code to the new (up-to-date) phone number I had to give them.
I guess I will find out in 3 days.

I had an absolute disaster which I won't bore you with.
But basically I managed to get Apple to send a 6 digit code my my moms phone then had to verify my credit card details.
Apple now say they will text my mums phone in 3 days with steps I have to follow to reset my password.
I would just like to know what those steps are if anyone knows.
Obviously the steps will be on here phone, but I'll want to reset my iphone password.
Thanks!

Are there any Thai phone providers with connections to Unitel Lao?
I have a SIM card with a 19 digit ICCID number on it.
I'm sure they could use the code to match it to a number, but hard to do in Thailand unless companies have a working relationship.

The method I prescribed works 100%....I went through some aggro earlier as well
and that is how I fixed it.
If you have one or more apple devices and the login details differ the system
locks you out. If you haven't provided a valid phone no it will lock you out
after a while as well. Apple 2FA used to be optional but now its compulsory,
you cant turn it off.
I would suggest you access appleid site via a desktop and change it from there.
You will need to provide a valid phone no....than every time you try to log in
with your Apple ID you will have to authorise it via 2FA.
Once you change your details on the website, the changes will automatically
reflect o your other devices via the cloud settings.
When I enter my Apple ID and password it asks me for a 6 digit code from a phone number I didn't realize existed.
No getting around it.

I suggest you read the link I included. At some point you or someone with access to your Apple account has turned on 2 Factor Authentication (2FA) which means that if a new device is detected attempting to sign in to your Apple ID a 6-digit passcode is generated as an extra level of security
Do you think it could have happened automatically if the SIM card was already inside. Maybe when I bought the iphone they maybe gave me a free Sim card. I think that might be the case because it's Unitel and I got phone in Laos. Definitely never went into a Unitel shop.
Thanks for letting me know anyway.

Do you mean it sends a 6-digit passcode via SMS to a phone number you say you've never owned? https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT204915
Yes

Apple must gave given me a random 2-step authentication number because I didn't add one or know you even needed to.
I know my Apple ID
I know my Apple password
But now every time I enter the ID and password it wants a random 6 digit number from a phone I've never had.
Does anyone know how to get around this so I can log into my Apple ID again.
I hope there is a way somehow.
Cheers!

OP, Get a new passport in Thailand first.
Fly to somewhere like HCMC and obtain a setv, would be one option. Depends on history in Thailand over last several months. Also depends how long you want to stay in Thailand. Your OP is bit confusing.
Unfortunately no time to get new passport in Thailand.

Going to Cambodia would not give you a better chance of a tourist visa than going to Vientiane. Phnom Penh frequently denies tourist visa applications. Kuala Lumpur, Yangon, Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi are possibly a little better. Being out of Thailand for a month or so before applying for the visa might well improve your chances of a successful application. Vientiane is attractive if you are from a country entitled to visa exempt entry into Thailand because, if denied a visa, you should be able to enter visa exempt via the Friendship Bridge without difficulty.
I was just going to go to Cambodia to get new passport then apply with fresh passport.
It only has less than a half dozen pages anyway, but I'd rather not hang about there for a few months if it can be avoided.

Is the one you got in Vientiane the only one you have gotten in recent history?
Vientiane is not as strict as Savannakhet. Just be prepared to show the equivalent of 20k baht ($700) and proof of accommodation when you apply.
Not sure staying in Laos for 60 days would help.
You will need to make an appointment to do the application.
The Vientiane visa is from almost exactly 2 years ago.

My passport is nearly full and I need a new one soon. I was thinking Cambodia but don’t really want to go there.
I have one tourist visa from Vientiane.
If I went and stayed there for 60 days do you think I would have a better chance of getting new Thai tourist visa and I could get new passport in Thailand.
Or do you think it’s better to stay on safe side and just go Cambodia?
i know Vientiane and Savannakhet are more strict now. But don’t know if staying there for 60 days will buy me good favour.
cheers!

Thanks.
Are you saying there is no nonsense with getting someone to sign your photos like back in UK? (which I can't even imagine would be possible anyway)
-
Hey,
So I only have a few blank pages in my passport and need to order a new one, but I few basic things about the application have me completely puzzled. I think I might be overthinking things so if anyone could please help:
1 - It says I need to send in 2 new identical passport photos. My old passport is about 5 years old and my face looks a little older/fatter, but you can tell it's still me. When it says identical photos does it mean from the same photo booth.
Or does it mean you need to look the exact same as you did in your previous passport photo?
2 - It says you need to send in 2 supporting documents, one with photo ID. I can send in a color copy of my Thai visas and my passport.
But it also says I get to keep my old passport, so I'm not sure how I can use passport as supporting document. Unless the color copy of every single page counts?
Cheers

Does anyone know if this is keto or not?
I don't really know how they cook it. I know there is gravy involved, but they might just steam it inside the funny looking contraption they use.

I need to get a VOA from Mai Sai soon and my visa expires on a Sunday.
Does anyone know if I will need to go on a Friday before it expires, or will I still be able to cross and get stamped back in on a Sunday?
Cheers
-
When you apply for new UK passport you get to keep the old one until the new one arrives.
You're not allowed to travel with it.
Does anyone know if you can still apply for the 30 day visa extension with it?
It would be hard to apply afterwords because the passport taked 4 weeks to come back once it's received.
Cheers

Does anyone know if they still sell the iPhone 6S Plus in Chiang Mai in independant shops? (non-refurbished).
I guess I would need 64/128gb.
Cheers

They are a little more relaxed with the 90 day thing, but back to back from the border straight to consulate would be impossible (speaking about people with many tourist visas).
-
Has anyone visited the Savannakhet counsulate (or knows anyone who has) for a tourist visa.
I'm just wondering if they've started to relax the rules a bit after becoming a hundred times stricter over the last few months.
I've heard a few people say it's getting better.
Cheers
