  1. Isn't tomorrow a public holiday in Thailand? Could that effect whether or not the Embassies are open regardless of the flooding?

anyone have more info on this holiday, are schools / banks closed ?? really don't want a wasted journey to Bangkok.... dealing with Kazakhstan consulate and from experience they seem to close for any reason, don't answer the phone or update their website ...

  2. i think i used him couple months back as my regular dentist was busy (Dr Budachart ?) and i was heading to the airport next day....he did a good job at rebuilding a back tooth which had broken off.... took about 55 minutes as probably 75% of the tooth was gone

    No complaints !!

  3. GPS operate in the 1.5GHz space

The 5Hz is probably the data update rate from the GPS to the attached device. The usual stanard is 1Hz. The required update rate will depend on a lot of things, including the chip set in the GPS.

The real difference is how far can you travel in 1 second or 0.2 second - in a car or on foot not very far

thanks for the clarification, yes, its the update rate i want to improve...its a lap timer app that I want to use with a track bike so the difference between 1 sec and 0.2 is actually quite a lot :)

@ digitalbanana, if you don't know anything about a topic better you don't bother posting .. thanks

  4. Anyone know where i can get one of these.. preferably in Pattaya.. tried a few jobs in Tukom but got the 'no have' answer !! not sure if they knew what i was asking for thou..

Will be going to Bkk in a few weeks so might go to Whantip if i knew a shop there..

    cheers

  5. if you are staying Thailand for a long term you really need to learn to ride a scooter.... if you can ride a bicycle you should be able to hop on a scooter without too much bother.. Get yourself a full face 'index' helmet for about 1000 baht and rent a 'twist and go' scooter with no gears like Click or Mio,....take it easy at first, say keep it under 30 km until you get used to,

when driving around town, keep your back brake covered and don't use the front brake if there is even a hint of sand/dust on the road.... you are mostly likely to fall off once you get over confident and start speeding...

As long as you go slow you shouldn't have any problem and even if you do have a slow speed spill, its not the end if the world !...

although, i would avoid Pratamnuk hill until you are comfortable on the bike... as it is pretty steep.. go around the other way....

  6. About 10 years ago, i was refused at check-in at Heathrow, can't remember the airline but i had to go and buy a refundable ticket to Singapore....

It is easier these days as you can say you have a e-ticket with another airline.

  7. Not sure what kind of leathers your're talking about ??

but if you are looking at full track leathers... i have a new BKS leathers for sale in classifieds for 25k.... also have a set of old Tecknic leathers for 3 k and a set of Ralph Waldman genuine GP Marlboro leathers (in my avatar) for 4 k ..

Sizes, working back are 36, 38, 40,.... (sizes seem to shrink every year year :D) -- but would range from approx 60 to 70kg... medium build...

if interested, pm, although out of LOS tomorrow so reply might delayed

  8. Very important to get shipper to use US parcel post opposed to courier like Fedex and to declare less value ... customs won't question it once its in print but will still have to pay about 30%

Do not use Fedex as they were looking for about 100% of the value of some track leathers i bought few months back ... not sure if its a scam or not but i refused to pay and got them to return to sender which caused all kinds of hassles.... eventually got it re-delivered and ended up paying 30% declared value at Lam Chabang customs..

  9. [

BTw I decided to go to PIH where a doctor said I did not need an xray and was given an injection and 3 types of pills Today I have little pain but the last 2 days I could not move without a sharp pain and sleep was nigh impossible.

    2200 BAHT.

Had a similar problem 4-5 years ago, tried massage and went to a chiropractor but no good,

Went to Pat/ Bkk Inter and got the same injection and the mandatory 3 pills for a few visits (all anti-flam/painkilling but no actual long-term fix)

anyway, was beginning to affect my work and piss me off so asked for shot of cortisone and there was a big improvement, also, noticed if i slept on that shoulder where it was pushed back opposed to in towards you chest helped alot, ....its pretty good so far, last issue i had, was a few months ago where i slept on the floor (drunk) and it was pretty bad for a day or so..

  10. If Idon't have a moto or leathers, is my only option to pay for the very expensive TDs that provide that for $500-$1000?

I have gloves, boots, back protector, helmet, but only textile suit... Would like to do a TD in Thailand, but at that sort of price Bira is not worth it to me.

Contact Graham at highsidetours.com, he has some ER6s at Bira that he rents out if the track is free... he doesn't book the track so costs should be less than previous full package prices...

  11. This suit was bought new in UK few months ago for 500 GBP plus postage ....Due to customs/Fedex dispute it was returned to sender as they were looking for 24k baht import tax!!

It has since been re-sent as gift (although still ended up paying 30% of declared value at Lam Chabang today). so the tags have been removed but suit has never been used

During the customs fiasco i bought another suit so no need for this one atm..Should fit ok if you are about 70 kgs and medium build/height.... I am based in Pattaya or if you're sure of your size i can send it by bus.

    pm if interested.
