  1. Just tested again..... "river fresh " delivered water is 8 ppm , Big c is 6 and tap is 80 ...from what i can remember the Nestle water was the only one that stood out with a really high reading of something like 160 ppm ... all other brands were really low

you can pick up a meter for a about $10 on ebay from China, just to a search for 'TDS water tester'

  2. i recently bought a TDS water tester and checked a range of water bottles... delivered stuff was on par with shop water with really low readings so must be RO.... Nestle bottled water came in highest which i assume is a good thing as this is down to a high mineral content as opposed to impurities ...

  3. was in TOPs last month and witnessed one OAP standing outside on the edge of the footpath quietly puking on to the road ....he then wanders back inside to the sitting area to continue drinking his Chang blink.png

... another day, see this guy coming out of the 7/11 at about 10 in the morning.. ...cracks open a can of chang and guzzles it down in one go...must have one hell of a hangover.biggrin.png

  4. i normally use pattaya taxis 0812587716... never had the same driver twice but always nice clean new cars... only 900 baht including tolls.. i normally give the driver at least 1200 baht as i don't know how they can make money as it would cost me more in diesel if my wife does return trip in our truck blink.png

1500 baht including tollway seems to be the standard coming from the airport.. could knock a couple hundred baht if you want to haggle..

i used to use Bells when it wasn't well known but always seems to full of annoying people these days.. last thing you want after traveling for 24 hours saai.gif

  5. yeah.. i noticed that today but thought it was because the water line is residing ?...i've never seen the lake as high as in last couple weeks...the other big reservoir has actually got higher in last couple of days which is odd considering we have no major rains ??

  6. They seemed to have beefed up their effort to promote the place with their website..place was a bit of a dump 10-12 years ago.

last time i was there for a medical cert... they seemed to be doing pretty good business patching up Russians after crashing scooters

  7. sold... maybe ??.. but i can't them leveling the place to build a golf course.. there is loads of spare land all around Bira and they are already in the process of building a golf course right behind Bira between the old course and the new one which is a shame as there was some nice off road trails around there sad.png

  8. Hope you're sorted, but if not, have you tried just replying STOP?

funny enough, this worked for me....i was getting a message everyday at 7 am, i texted 'please stop sending me messages !! ' and they actaully stopped ? ..

  9. i've got a Samsung Galaxy Mini and just downloaded the app "my tracks" its google based so works with Google maps and your email... i just transferred below link from my phone which is mix of dirt and road...especially good for recording dirt tracks so you can piece together a good route if you are not familiar with the area... Also has the option to change colour with the speed so you can identify fast or slow trails..

  10. On the exit of Marpachan lake on the Na Klua side there is a small dirt track on the right.. Also some good trails in the woods around there and on the other lake exit, cross the road and follow that dirt road which is good fun although it has some serious mud/water atm

I also go to the other big reservoir which is good to do a circuit of (see google maps)

Any chance you can put a link to google maps for the bit in Bold please?

can't seem to post map link correctly.... anyway, as you head up siam country road, at the entrance to Marpachan Lake (which is on the left) you take a right up a dirt road, keep going straight, after a couple of km's you will come to T-junction and you have the option to go either way ..both will bring you onto the road.
