  1. No matter how people try and dress it up, there's only one reason to visit/ live in Pattaya, and I'm only talking about the areas where girls/ ladyboys/ boys are prevalent.

I am in BKK and go there once a month to hit the boxing gym for 4-5 days and have a few days eating decent priced English food, i can genuinely say i dont frequent the girly bars and dont wish to have the same mundane conversation time and again.

Besides unless you go to the gogo bars the women of Pattaya are old, flabby and not my cup of tea, i would have no use for any of them.

Shame, I bet those ladies really miss having a mundane conversation with a pie-and-chip eating amateur boxer - know wot I mean 'arry...

  2. As he once again lay hungover on the sofa in the morning, still fully clothed, and stinking of construction sites' drainage ditches, hand-rolled cigarettes, and last nights twenty-six pints of Guinness, his co-worker pulled up outside the house in his rusty old Ford Transit van to take him to work once again. The man's wife, who was slaving in the kitchen preparing gruel for each of her thirty-nine barefoot children, shouted sarcastically towards the living-room "Paddy, your f***ing chauffeur's arrived..."

  3. Personally I'd prefer to see George W "half a biscuit" Bush extradited to Iraq to face charges of invasion and the deaths of 110,000 people who did (and do) nothing more than defend their country from a group of well armed foreign invaders that came from a land far far away, some of whom carry army issue Zippo lighters engraved with "Death is My Business, and Business is Good" - pathetic... - set the Russian free...

  4. In the past, it has been OPENLY DISPLAYED on the front tables of DVD vendors in Pattaya very close to the main Pattaya police station, and on multiple tables on Pattaya Beach Road. Not all the time but some times. Confirmed by me and other members here on this board. So to people who have actually witnessed this, we are more inclined to think there is A LOT more to this than selling papers!

I can testify to this too - there are at least three stalls on Beach Road near the entrance to Walking Street where many CP movies are face-up on the display tables for all tourist families to witness (and to talk about when they get home to their respective countries). The images feature children under ten years of age. It is simply impossible that the Pattaya Police are not aware of this permanent open sale. It's disgusting..!

  5. While it looks tempting I refuse to pay VAT or SC on top of menu price. 99% of the restaurants include that in their price.

Your choice. This place though DOES include VAT in the stated menu price, but then adds 10 percent service charge.

10% Service Charge? in Pattaya? For the Jewish equivalent of lukewarm roast beef in a bread-roll with a paper napkin on the side, served by a teenage rent-boy? They're having a laugh!

  6. I see some truth in this story.

Thailand is just the kind of place that your fellow foreign colleague, who himself engages in illegal activity, will turn around and report you to police to score points, cash, to evade his own arrest, or just to get rid of you. There are plenty of psycho farangs here in Thailand, in part as can be evidenced by all the "hang him high" and "hope he rots in hel_l" responses that fill this Thai Visa forum -- the kind of foreigners that always side with a very corrupt police and judicial system just because they have the power.

    "String him up boys..!"

  7. "Cat" Brand rolling tobacco at 10 Baht a packet: the 7-9 (7-11 copy) on Soi Yume sells it. About 30 rolls per pack (more if you've ever been detained at Her Majesty's pleasure). It's like sucking on the ass end of a jet fighter's engine, but also comes in very handy if you desire an un-interupted chat with your mates at the beerbars - simply leave the pack of Cat Brand on the bar in plain sight, and I guarantee you that non but the most desperate disease ridden, terminally ill Cambodian will be seen dead tying to short-time King Cheap Charlie in public.

  8. ... to face charges of conspiracy to kill Americans, conspiracy to kill officials and employees of the United States government, conspiracy to acquire and use anti-aircraft missiles and conspiracy to provide material support or resources to a foreign terrorist organisation.

Did anyone catch him with a rocket launcher in his hands and ready to shot down a plane full of Americans, officials and employees of the United States government? I don't think so! i am not necessarely protecting Bout (I will keep my opinion my myself), but I always found it laughable how US courts come up with all kinds of weird charges. Also as some pepole already mentioned in previous Bout topic, I hate the fact that the US is trying to police a whole world. Again i am not saying Bout should or should not face charges, but why US has to be involved in that?

Oh, I have a proposal. Lets extradit Bush to Russia for all the war crimes that happened in Iraq. Lets extradit all the US military personal back to Iraq for raping woman and torturing the neutral population during the so-called war.

I totally agree. What a Russian man sells to people in Columbia (even if it's morally wrong) is nothing to do with the USA whatsoever. How about the British extraditing the owners of some New York Irish Bars for allowing open donations to support the IRA activities in bombing mainland England for decades...?

  9. Seems like the Dane was out for trouble and hit one of the English Guys from behind.

The other one hit him back.

    But the Dane walked away.

Possible attack by 3 Thais needs investigation.

Very easy for Police to charge the English guys, but it smells fishy to me.

    English eh?not British?

English is subset of British. British is a subset of European. Scottish and Welsh people do NOT regard themselves as English. Neither do some Cornish people.

According to Wikipedia, the definition of a Cornish virgin, is "a pre-pubescent girl who can run out-run her father"

  10. I like the unashamedly bigoted response BaronCasey. You're an Expat, no?

    :D

Yes, I'm an Expat. I also spent some time working in Saudi. I freely admit that I am a bigot too. Their religious education leaves many of them with much open hatred towards everyone that is not an Arab. As we know, all we hear about on the news, is about how many "enemy combatants" are 'foreign insurgents' in Afghanistan and Iraq. The international news-media is fed with White House data that is selective, and for political reasons, they portray the Iranians and Syrians as the worst. But in truth, the largest single nationality group of 'foreign insurgents' hoping to shoot a white-man, are actually Saudi Arabians.

  11. He will use his human rights will be violated excuse if he goes back to thailand.

British police suspect Crawford of beating Ryan to death and using his credit card to withdraw 6,500 pounds (10,300 dollars) before fleeing to Thailand.

I don't get it. It was only some pocket money that Ryan had to die for? To be honest, Crawford should be in a wheelchair for the rest of his life.

Again another problem between Thais and us foreigners. Way too many weird people fleeing to Thailand to do weird things. Wonder if it will stop one time? Don't think so.

Without being racist: Why do always Brits have the most problems, accidents, fights and so on.......

I remember not too long ago, Thailand being the deadliest country for Brits. How comes?

Others can do a lot to have something which is called reputation, but people like this guy are doing all that most of them already hate us. That's the truth, even people in the Lower North-east.

Nobody wants to read or hear any more bullshit made by foreigners, how sad for those who never made something wrong here. Is it possible that too many British criminals are heading to Thailand?

Sorry, but I've met too many of them being in jail for murderer, drugs and all that shit back home. Dear Admins, it's just a fact that too many Brits are causing serious problems. But why?

Sadly, it's in our nature to behave like this. Any town centre in the UK on a Saturday night is, statistically, actually quite dangerous in terms of unwarranted serious violence. A bizarre example is that 10% of our prison population is ex-army! Why? I don't know, you'd think that they'd be the last lot to end up in the Nick, but it's a very indicative statistic of what our society has become - unlike the French, Dutch, Irish, Italians, Aussie's, we have simply lost our pride in who we are and, quite understandably, people are bloody cautious of us. Other Europeans actually shy away from bars where it's obvious that Brits are drinking because there're actually a bit scared. Contrary to popular belief, the French quite like the Brits and a group of French lads won't have any problems getting laid in London and they know it, but they won't come for a weekend breaks because they're worried that one of them will get a bottle over his head in a nightclub simply for chatting our girls up.

  12. Alcohol or cough syrup. I am part Chickasaw. My father was born on the res and my brother is working for the Apache's now. Booze is a huge problem, as you well know. But it is legal...and for many, that is an unfortunate fact. You can not buy or even have in your possession any booze where my brother lives. So they show up at the hospital with a cough and try and get some cough syrup. Enforcement is a HUGE help there...without it, things would be out of control....

We agree that alcohol is a huge problem. Enforcement does help. The problem is the way enforcement takes place, what the focus is, and penalties for "breaking laws."

There has never been an honest discussion of what a drug is, what should be enforced, why, and what penalties should be imposed (if any).

I think honesty would make it totally clear that alcohol is our #1 drug problem worldwide.

The reason is that alcohol is legal, readily available (at all the bars in Thailand, for example), addictive, and its side effects are nasty (violence, liver problems, mental problems, etc).

I think if Thailand did an honest study of the problem, it would discover that alcohol is its #1 drug problem. It would discover that much of the violence/crime in society is linked to it.

I think you are right on, my friend....

I am an Alcoholic (I no longer drink thanks to A.A. and I've never been more relaxed in my life now). I can tell you for a fact, that in pharmaceutical and clinical terms, that alcohol is actually classified as a drug. Specifically, it's classified as a Sedative. Alcohol dependency is treated in the same manner and in the same establishments as any other drug, whether it's a narcotic or a prescription drug. Society don't like to think of it as a drug because we don't like the term 'drug'. My heart goes out to races of people such as the North American Indians and the Australian Aborigines because they have far far higher rates of alcoholism due to the fact that they are far more likely (genetically measurable and therefore quantifiable) to be unable to physically process alcohol in the same way that non-alcoholic 'white' people do, and this leads to very fast (if not immediate) addiction, irrespective of the terrible mental-health consequences.

  13. How inappropriate. The Taliban had almost eliminated opium production in Afghanistan before the U.S. led invasion. Then the CIA permitted fresh cultivation in order to win local people over, and production went up 900%. What a great track record for the DEA - who's overseas operations are supervised by the CIA.

you have a connection in Taliban to confirm this? or only relying on Anti-American propaganda from Taliban. How exactly Taliban funds all its operations and arms buying? Must be money from the sale of camels

No connection in the Taliban, I get my information from the United Nations. The Taliban banned it in the year 2000 and practically eliminated it. The CIA told the local warlords (who's help they hoped to get) that they could grow it again (this is a fact that has been stated in British Politics on TV in recent years). But now the Taliban need the money to fight the invaders etc so they now permit growth of it too, and get to control much of it.

Really? I just found out the Taliban are using opium production to fund their terrorist operations (and to buy weapons). Did they have a change of heart prompted by the CIA? Not so sure about that, but I could be wrong....

I guess this opium is a real problem there...corruption of government officials, etc. Sad....

On July 27, 2000, the Taliban issued a decree banningcultivation. By February 2001, productionhad been reduced from 12,600 acres to only 17 acres. Since the U.S.led invasion, the Taliban have been too busy to police the local warlords, sothese warlords recommenced production, and did so with CIA approval because theCIA needs their help in catching the bad guys. The Taliban – needing funds tofight the invaders had little choice but to join in and oversee the growing ofit too. Annual production has gone from 17 acres (a very small farm indeed) tonow being worth more than 60 Billion U.S. dollars each year. And this accountsfor more than 90% of the worlds production.

So, yes they had ‘a change of heart’ because theyneeded the money. By the way, Taliban are not ‘terrorists’ – they’re a localpeople fighting the white invaders.

  15. If a guy who didn’t eat bananas said bananas should be banned would you take him seriously?

Although you asked some qualifying information you missed the big qualifier.

Do you use beach road hookers?

As much as it is interesting information you have not approached the real topic.

The cops make money from the girls. The pimps make money from the girls. The stores make money from the girls. What about them?

The customers use the girls. What about them?

I think religion should be banned. I think all told it is the biggest harm in the world. I can make a case from before the crusades. But then again I don’t use religion. So I am not a good person to ask.

It would be as dumb asking me about religion as Geriatricked about prostitutes. Or Jingthing if he gets excited about the female body.

If I remember correctly Jingthing is revolted by women’s bodies. I don’t think he is a good person to listen to about women.

You remember INCORRECTLY. I did start a poll about the opinion of a famous writer. Read better, please.

In any case, my feeling would not be different even if it was mostly male prostitutes. I would STILL want to be able to hang out on the water without being constantly solicited.

Anyway, this isn't about stamping out prostitution. This is about making the beach promenade walk a PLEASANT thing for all kinds of people. This is a beach resort city, for Satan's sake, which is attracting ALL kinds of people now, and that is a good thing. A stroll on the beach promenade is a great feature for urban beach resorts throughout the world, but I daresay Pattaya has got the most whores on the beach. Would you take your family with children there the second time after you saw all those whores? Go go bars/beer bars/freelancer bars are an entirely different thing, you can go in there or not. You can walk down Soi 6, or not, but if you go to a beach resort city and can't take a beach promenade walk, you do indeed give credible ammunition to those with PDS (Pattaya Derangement Syndrome).

Sorry Jingthing. I would have gone back and checked but I am boycotting the gay forum without you posting there.

Oh... Jingthing - why don't you go and have your evening strolls along the beach in Jontien, instead of moaning about hetrosexual prostitution on Beach Rd. In Jontien there's plenty of families, and hundreds of gay men cottaging on the sand that you can wink at - there's nothing more irritating than a moaning old queen...!

  16. You're dreaming. Families do NOT walk there at night. Because of the whores. It's that simple. Walking alone as a single man, you WILL get harassed constantly. Face reality, the place is thick with whores and people here are trying to paint this as a good thing. It's not. It's a BLIGHT. Also, give me a break, any idiot can tell the difference between a street walker and non sex worker Thais enjoying the beach area. Most everywhere in the world, there is a difference between zoned prostitution areas (even in Thailand, Bangkok, Phuket, CM) and open street prostitutes basically trashing would would be or could be a fantastic resource for ALL of the population.

If all the street whores were totally removed from the beach side, do you honestly think you're going to get hordes of families walking along it in the evening? The other side of the road is a long string of beer-bars worked by obvious hookers, so how many Mums and Dads do you really think are going to walk along there with their kids watching the goings-on on the other side of the road eh? It would be no more appropriate for a family evening out than strolling along Walking St in the evening with kids. The majority of families who have booked holidays in Pattaya have done so without prior-researching that Pattaya is not ideal for kids (or childless non-swinging couples) and would not return for a second time regardless of whether the Beach Rd was cleaned up or not.
