Bring back Amarit.

I hear there's a big US Air Force base there. Should be plenty of action.

For that matter, where is India?

Maybe Southern Thailand has Elvis Wedding Chapels, a la Las Vegas.

Aha, a rare opportunity to feel superior. I can honestly say I have never bought gifts for a "VJ girl". In fact I didn't know what one was until I googled it. Now if they had said "BJ girl"...

I wouldn't worry about it myself if it still recharges and is otherwise usable. If it bothers you, take it out of the computer and store it in the refrigerator before going away.

In the US we have millions of children being raised by grandparents, primarily due to drugs and alcohol. The fathers are gone, the mothers are unfit to raise children.

It's tragic to hear the Check Bin is closing. Glad Madrid is still there though.

Mail them to me here in Chicago along with round trip first class airfare and I will personally deliver them, safe and sound. I won't even put my bar fines on the expense report.

I have heard anecdotal stories of bar girls who have amassed small to medium sized fortunes in gold bahts. Every time they get a regular farang BF who hangs around long enough, they get him to take her down to Chinatown to buy her a nitnoi "gift". Of course this is all hearsay from people who used to patronize bar girls.

I've got to agree that it's a stupid headline. They didn't put the "apparent" qualifier in front of the hung himself, so we have to take it that that part is a fact. Once you've hung yourself, any intent other than suicide would be extremely remote, to say the least. Like maybe it's a game he plays with the neighbor and fully expected to be saved.

I'd suggest trying Asics or Mizuno.

Currently reading Skytrain to Murder (finally). Bazza40, I like your list. You might consider adding Robert B. Parker's Spenser series.

What a boob.

I did have a Thai try to take me on 1 on 1 once, 2nd floor of Nana Plaza. I'm a daily runner, so was able to get away. I think his high heels put him at a disadvantage.

Chinese tourists will probably come late.

First trip was a Caribbean cruise at age 12. Puerto Rico, Guadelupe, Trinidad, and someplace else. Oh yeah, St. Thomas. Second trip was a year in Udon Thani at age 22, compliments of the U.S. Air Force. Parents were watching me too closely the first time, they didn't come along for the second one, so I had much more fun.

Back to the N.A. offshoot, as someone who has been drinking German N.A.'s for 15 years, I can tell you that St. Pauli N.A. is excellent, and Beck's and Clausthaler are not far behind. The American brands (and Kaliber) are bad, IMHO.

As a related issue does anyone know if you can get (and I know this will seem like sacrilege to some) non alcoholic beer here.
I've seen German non-alcoholic beer in TOPS. Haven't tried it though.

I have never lived there, but I had a great time on numerous work trips to Shenzhen China. Speaking Chinese helps. For weekend diversions, there are hydroplanes to Hong Kong and Macao.

Plus maybe life was not a bowl of cherries back home.

I reject the very premise of this article, 69 is no longer "elderly". 75 at least.

You're an immigrant if you do yard work for rich locals to survive.

So how much in income and assets in the bank does a falang need to prove in order to retire in Thailand? And how much do you suppose the average Mexican fence climber has in his pockets?

I'm thinking providence hasn't done much for this particular corpse. Provenance maybe?
