I have heard anecdotal stories of bar girls who have amassed small to medium sized fortunes in gold bahts. I have never lived there, but I had a great time on numerous work trips to Shenzhen China. Speaking Chinese helps. For weekend diversions, there are hydroplanes to Hong Kong and Macao.
