So if travelling on a U.K passport and wife on Thai passport, then neither of us need anything for a week long holiday ??
Is this correct !! Will we be allowed to board flight in BKK with just our passports..
I can only speak for you holding a UK passport, as long as you have not been in Vietnam in the last 30 days on the 15 day exemption entry all you will need is proof of onward travel from Vietnam within 15 days. Once you leave Vietnam you cannot use this method again for 30 days - sorry but I have no idea about Thais entering Vietnam.

Visas
Until 30 June 2021, ‘British Citizen’ passport holders travelling for tourism or business can enter Vietnam for up to a maximum of 15 days (inclusive of dates of entry and exit) without a visa. If you have a different type of British nationality – for example ‘British national (overseas)’ you’ll need to get a visa before entering Vietnam.
For visits of up to 30 days, you can get an e-visa online before you travel. Use of the e-visa is limited to certain entry/exit points which you must select at the time of application. E-visa is only applicable to ‘British Citizen’ passport holders. If you don’t have fixed travel plans, consider applying for a regular single entry visa from the nearest Vietnamese Embassy, which allows more flexibility.

Read the thread. Can someone confirm if 3 month multi is available with e-visa. I go Saigon every few weeks and use "approval letter". Need new visa after next trip. Getting tired of the waiting area VOA.
Looks like only 1 month according to their FAQ section (I know what you mean about the wait at the airport - its horrible lol)

Looks like a good deal - My SIM is AIS but I have had it 13 years so I guess I wouldn't be eligible for that 90 Baht deal.
I get the 199 Baht package which isn't mentioned there its called Mao Mao
*777*984*612818# to activate - It is only 1GB I think then goes a bit slower but It certainly works for me.

I have used a non-government agent before a few times to obtain a 3-month multi-entry, I have also used the visa free 15 day method as I am from the UK.
The agent I have used has a pretty informative website - Americans, in particular,
seem to get a good deal.

The issue also seems (according to other threads and immigration documents provided to the person who opened the thread) to be that when using the income method - from 2020 the money must be from a pension and also verified by your Embassy which some Embassies have already stopped doing.
What a cluster&^*k - I do use the money in the bank method but this is still annoying as no doubt the 800k figure will increase.

I put up my place for sale and within 24 hours a buyer was found in China - the deal is done and I was paid cash at land office and some extra to move out immediately - As far as I know it was all done by phone / photos etc.

Guys - just to let you know Vietnam now do an E visa. I have not used it yet but it is $25 for a month and easy I am told. I do not know if it can be extended in the country yet or not?

Word is that Kampot will be next.
I think many of the offshore islands are still OK for now.
I have a friend who had a boat building business in Thailand (near Sattahip) for about 18 years - he has now moved to Kampot due to the regulations here now and strong Baht.

JC International Airlines. Never even heard of them so very unlikely to even consider using them.
They started in 2017 I think - they only have 5 aircraft and I think are associated with a budget Chinese airline (not sure on that) Their groundstaff were useless - I won't fly with them again and still waiting on a response to my complaint.

I was in Phnom Penh last week, a lot of expats I spoke to who live there said not to go back to Sihanoukville as it is a building site and crammed full of Chinese.

Hi observer90210, I don't think they were trying to scam us I think they were just incompetent. We speculated that perhaps the $1000 was to cover them if they were fined for flying people in without onward tickets perhaps? I have emailed their complaints department in Cambodia and if they reply I will update the story.

I don't see how that will work for me and others like me, I have had 4 years of retirement so far and never done a 90-day report as I have a multi-entry extension and am traveling around so never here for 90 days?

As the title says, Yesterday I was traveling back to Bangkok from Phnom Penh airport with JC International airlines. At check in our queue was really slow and we found out why when we tried to check in, The staff were asking us to show onward flights out of Thailand, I can understand them asking my two travel companions as they are on tourist visas but they kept telling everyone that "if you have no onward ticket they will charge you $1000 USD to board"
I have a multi-entry retirement extension valid until May and was very surprised by this.
I do actually have an ongoing flight out of Thailand next month (luckily) but normally I would not have this - I argued my case regarding holding a retirement visa and they and their supervisor said the rules changed yesterday - everyone needs an onward flight. Then I was also given the $1000 USD option to board at which point I relented and showed my onward ticket. We could also overhear other people on retirement visas getting the same BS in the next queue.
Needless to say, none of us will be using that airline again or visiting Phnom Penh again.

What a great story - I am always losing my Rolexes and leaving bags of money around, I wish it was in Thailand as I would always get it back as the Thai people are honest.

So to phrase it differently - Overturned truck looted by multiple thieves?

Great report KhunHeineken - looks like a massive building site. Do you think you will ever go back?

Sounds like the "paternal grandmother" is also worthless as she knew and yet allowed the girl to return to the father - what a nice family.

I flew into Suvarnhabhumi yesterday late afternoon, Immigration was very good as it was when I left a week ago. I think I was processed in under a minute both times and little to no queues.
I have a Multi-Entry Retirement extension and I own my condo (5 years) but with all the varied reports I decided to go to Immigration today and check on whether or not they wanted a TM30 from me.
I asked 2 different officers and was told that as my address has not changed I do not need a TM30 to be completed. Happy days ????

I went twice to Hua Hin and didn't really like it - the only saving grace was the Subway sandwich shop which was good....then they shut it :(
