Surprised they added her into the story since she has been accused of statutory rape.

I am right of centre but this guy might be a little too far out there for me. However, I am not Brazilian so I guess it makes no difference to me.

Try to catch a train or bus during spring festival. It is an experience that only a lucky few wish that they had never had.
I have done this. ???? Beijing station trying to get back to Jiangsu. Sardines trying to move and not faint.
Back to queues. In line in a Chinese bank when one guy brassed in straight up to the teller. I yelled at him and after a bit of stunned silence the Chinese in the line joined in until he slunk back into line.
It is not unusual to be conducting business at the teller only to find somebody next to you begin trying to business across the front of you. The disappointing thing is that often the teller will stop with you and attend to the newcomer.

Assuming that it was mostly the same 100,000 people attending over 3 days, it was an unusual way of writing.

One of the reasons we have governments is for them to occasionally step in to override vested interests and do the right thing. Doesn't happen too often but this sick ecology needs some rest and remedial attention.

I do not expect you to be nice to me when I am on holidays. All I ask is that you do not rob or kill me. Too much?

Read in initial reports that the Indonesian buoys were also not working and look what happened to 1500 (so far) of them.
I have not seen this confirmed or denied as yet so cannot say it is accurate.

Just for comparison, I taught at 2 Chinese universities. My regular students were all good but my English Majors were brilliant, better in fact than most Westerners. Good conversations about literature and world affairs.

There are three accusations to be heard. .How about Ford's evidence? She has taken the polygraph test and the result was that she was not lying about being sexually assaulted by Bret at just 15 years of age.
Even the Senate Dems do not really want to investigate the latter two accusations because they are patently ridiculous. At least Dr Ford was credible. Doesn't make it true, but credible, even if she lied about not being able to fly to an earlier meeting with the Senate.
As to the polygraph. She was asked 2 questions only. No series of baseline questions to establish a pattern. No question on whether she had taken any medication. A beta-blocker can calm down any adverse reaction.

Her memories are neither repressed or recovered. She remembered it when it happened and afterwards. She simply did not report it and she explained why. So no repressed, no recovered memories.
I based my comment on the report that said that the Councillor's notes said that she was not at first able to say who her attacker was, and only remembered later. (and no, I will not search out that report).

I believe that she was attacked and I believe she honestly believes it was Bret. What I have a problem with is repressed/recovered memories. These have been shown to be open to suggestion and false memory. I cannot see a way out of this as she has not provided enough detail of the when/where to prove, or Bret to disprove, the venue and timing.
No winners in this.

If they have managed to embed this into the Constitution so governments cannot mess with it, then the simple answer is just to change the C again. It seems that nearly every gov does that anyway.

Pity the poor people with nothing better to do than to hunt through the net looking for things to be "outraged" about.
Seems a lot like the 1600's Puritan hunt for witches.
