Actually a good time for me. Built 2 houses during that time when the $-baht was over 50. Last remittance was 57, which made my houses extremely cheap.
Went about my normal job (in BKK), did all my regular activities...so can't remember anything adverse.
I'm sure others will have their own stories.

You have Thai citizenship? How? Then they won't issue you a yellow tabian baan as it is only for foreigners.
Something not quite right with the OP's story here.

On Tepprasit Road just a few meters up from Pratumnak on the left hand side. They are B & D dealers and repairs also.

I went to that place downstairs in Tukcom ,she told me that there is a place called powerbarn in Tukcom but I couldn't find it
Any place that sells cheap hotwater jugs the Kmart type ?
I like to drink coffee in my Airbnb condo and read my books on psychometrics and do graphs & statistics on different things
I'm enjoying my time in Pattaya , haven't been to any bars yet and probably won't .
I just need a hot water jug
From this post, and some of your other posts, I think you need a lot more than a hot water jug.🤔

Rubbish. I love manual gearboxes in cars and so do my mates. A manual gives you better control over a car if you are an experienced driver.
Not in Pattaya or Bangkok traffic..

if you live in a condo...how do you charge your car ? lol
Just run a long extension cord from your Condo window/balcony down to the garage...so easy!
Or if you have that very small EV, then it'll probably fit in the elevator, so can actually charge in the room!

very curious to know, since there are 2 types of extensions, do the restrictions on working apply to both types of extensions?
You can apply for WP on a 'Marriage Visa/Extension' only. Not on a Retirement Visa/Extension.
But once again you are very confused about the types of extensions and there financial requirements. Check out older threads before posting again.

would he not be able to apply the rule where you can withdraw 50% after 3 months and top up his deposit to 400k, 2 months before extension application date? or does that only apply to the 800k 'gang (of which I am a member).
You are getting your Visas/Extensions mixed up. Suggest you do some research first.
Plus the OP is wanting to change to the monthly income method..read his post.

Update on my case.
I went to BPH today and had a retinal scan, this revealed a small retinal rupture which happened to be across a capillary which was seeping blood. I was pretty much straight into laser surgery and had it zapped shut.
Right now there's a small improvement but the Doc reckons about 2 weeks until the leaked blood cells get mopped up.
Total cost Bht 19.2k. The Doc reckoned if I'd left it any longer it would have been a full-blown detachment and Bht 200k+ to get it fixed.
So, again, thanks to everyone for your help and advice.Could you tell us the name of the Doctor that you saw. Thank you.

Has someone tapped into your water supply, without you realising it? Do you have access to all the pipework to/from your condo.
He is in a house, not Condo, so individual water meter and piping to Tank.

No idea what you mean by 'English household registration book'.
There are Blue and Yellow house books, both with entries written in Thai.
Duh,,he is saying that in English it's called 'Household Registration book'

I've been here full time since '99 and I do not remember "...powder on the cheeks and a small splash of water by hand..."
Late 70's parts of Bangkok and Chiangmai.

Well get used to it. The 'Soft Power' junta have hit on this long Songkran chaos as a way to bring in tourist revenue. So look for worse in coming years.
(Personally I used to enjoy the powder on the cheeks and a small splash of water by hand, but those days are long gone).

Not Oz, but I'm using Google Fi from the USA. Not sure if it's available in Oz.
But:
1) I had to sign up with a US address. (OP may want to say whether he's got family back home that can receive the SIM and send it to him)
2) After a few months overseas, my plan no longer supports the data roaming feature. Just phone and text. Apparently, if I was military on a foreign assignment, int'l data roaming is available. The messages say it'll work fine when I get back to the USA.
Works for phone and text in Thailand and China where I've been spending the last year. I keep it as SIM1 in my 2 SIM phone, alternating between a China SIM and a Thai SIM (AIS) depending on where I land. That gives me the data...
So very helpful for the OP's Australian topic🤔

Your post script sentence reveals a degree of naivety I think. Govt. Agencies are never immune to political whims ! If outside of influence then eliminate eliminate !
You have been a member for a few months and you're telling me about my Agency...so silly boy you are.
I have been with them since 1993...if you knew the Agency you would feel foolish about what you wrote.
Adjust your thinking pls.

My 3 predictions:
1)MFP will be dissolved in June/July, and sadly many of it's founding members will be exiled from politics for at least 10 years. Yes a new party will formed, and some members/MP's will cross over before the court ruling.
2) Yingluck is home by September (with an amnesty or K's pardon).
3)Sretta will resign by next April (citing fatigue) and T's daughter will slot in until the election.
Will be interesting to see how it all plays out. Luckily the Govt Agency I work for is not made up of political appointees and is immune from all the political shenanigans.

1)You do realise if you went that route, that 'she, in her name' (not you) would have to bring the total purchase price in from overseas. Inward remittance would have to be in her name. You cannot use money already in Thailand.
2)Using her Australian passport to purchase is probably feasible, but at some stage (either at the Bank or the Land Office) someone is going to query the lack of Visa/Extension/entry stamps in her passport, then she will need to show her Thai ID and this may cause problems.
Be careful.
