  1. I have spoken to a number of influential people and they all tend to say the same thing. Lots of people moving from Bangkok area (Thais) and setting up business. They have a new Pratunam market and the old one has been upgraded a lot, nice to go around there.

I have lived there for 5yrs now and have noticed the vast building going on, also lots places partly built and abandoned.

  2. When the police take these fines, where does the money surpassed to go, there must be set conditions as to where it has to go, in a special bank account in the national police accounts. No seriously if they are allowed to do spot fines like this there must be a law as to where it has to go.

Ok we know the brainless will be making stupid comments so go to bed as we all know what your comments will be.

  3. I googled largest bank note, this Thai one came up. Also there was an £1,000000 and £10,000000 issued plus some big USA$ notes.

This banknote was a comemmorative banknote in Thailand and possibly the most valuable banknote that is legal to be owned by an individual as opposed to a bank of government. The largest regular issue of banknote in Thailand is the 1,000 baht note and so this is a tremendous jump from what is typically used as legal tender in Thailand. This note was issued to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Royal Wedding of King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit, and was issued both in 50 baht and 500,000 baht.

  4. Wow... not interested in doing your own quick research?

History of Burma as written in Wikipedia

Personally I like to blame the English. More likely it's their crazy issues with superstition.

There you go again, blame the English. It states ever since their independence they have been in the longest civil war recorded. Same with all the African States all in the shit since getting their independence.

  5. I left for New Zealand on the 5th Dec and the prices were still what they were when oil was over $100 barrel.

I bet there is no real reduction to the price of diesel and petrol. The petrol company's are making a fortune, where is the government when this needs to be controled.

More rich people got richer. Diesel in NZ has come down more than 40 cents lt since I was last here in June.

Reading all this no one has put what the price is now.

  6. I would stay clear on King Power, duty free no such thing with them. Go down south pattaya rd befor you get to the temple behind the food stalls on the left walking down towards No 2 rd. There is a market behind the food stalls women with a big display stall inside she sells very good watches, Swiss etc I have had mine for 8yrs get showered every day with it and go swimming keeps perfect time. Good brand names also she talk good English.

  7. Ye big city, bigger than KHon KAEN that have 4-5 top hospitals, universities etc. Obon and Korat both together, they have lot more than Khon Kaen. Also big army and Air Force base there. Plenty busses to anywhere, Bangkok about 4 - 5hrs. Good flights to Bangkok Don MUANG. I would say good choice for what you want to setup.

  8. you realise that Xmas is not celebrated in Thailand so the children do not know. You start teaching them about Santa they will expect presses every year, tell their friended and their friends will start bothering their parents, best to just joke about it not be seriouse.

Write a letter back to the kids in anevelope and say sorry no more new members, club is full.

  9. I'm not surprised to hear that they weren't present for the hearing ... after all this is a done deal; as far as the Thai police and judicial system is concerned they are already guilty.

I've witnessed some farces in my time but the Thais take the biscuit when it comes to incompetence, cover-ups and outright corruption. I for one am glad I left and that my money no long supports such a vile country.

I am following you to leave very soon

  10. There is no blood line between him and the queen (House of Windsor)

The House of Windsor is the royal house of the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth realms. It was founded by King George V by royal proclamation on 17 July 1917, when he changed the name of the British Royal Family from the German Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (a branch of the House of Wettin) to the English Windsor, due to the anti-German sentiment in the British Empire during World War I.[1] The most prominent member of the House of Windsor is its head, Queen Elizabeth II, who is the reigning monarch of 16 Commonwealth realms.
