Don, Im confused about this bit you wrote " and in their place a flat supplement of $543.40 per annum is added to your pension."
Do you have a link for this information?

Im no expert but I have looked into this subject many times....
Acer;;; Stay far away from them.
ASUS; I have had many good reports about their computers.
LENOVO; I own two of them so this is my choice.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for that PTE. I noticed they seem more expensive in Thailand, perhaps buying one online might be the answer.
Cheers

Im thinking about buying a new Canon SX40 HS Camera. I would like some thoughts about this from the Camera experts please.

Also if anyone might know where to get the best deal in Bangkok?
Thanks.

There really is no option - you are required to use the office assigned to your location (as listed above).
Thanks Lop, for the 90 day reporting must I go to this office or can I go else where if Im traveling around Thailand?

Thank you LB I think Si Racha Immigration Office will be my best option.

I think the emphasis is more on constructively sharing experience, and less on futile bickering amongst ourselves. I've not foiund anyone that got sober by pointless bickering, but I've met a few that went to the pub in preference to it
SC
I almost always enjoy your posts SC, and usually find them entertaining as well as constructive. I also am averse to petty bickering on any forum, especially this one. But if missgrin finds that willpower works that's great even though it's diametrically different from AA ideology. My initial question remains the same - are AAers afforded special priveleges on this forum?
I think that there is no harm in sharing the futilities of our unsuccessful struggles. THere is no harm in saying what we tried, in vain. The ill-will starts when people start suggesting that one method or another will not work for someone else...
SC
In that case I'm sure no one will object if I say that some estimates of AA failure rates are as high as 95%. Even the 'successful' ones merely replace one dependency with another, albeit a less damaging one.
Well maybe I am one of the lucky ones. I have not had a drink for 32 years thanks to AA and the old timers who helped me through the difficult times of early sobriety.

Findig produces leather goods, I think their store is called Udom Agg, there are several in MBK. Its a nationwide chain. I can't figure out how to keep my nice leather stuff from rotting
In Australia I always used Dubbin which in a great product. Im not sure if you can buy it in Thailand, maybe get one of the Oz TV members to bring in a tin for you.

Can a member please tell me if there is an Immigration office in Chonburi City, If not where would be the closest one?
This is for a retirement Visa.
Thank you.

TRU UBC what ever they call them self is the worst company I have ever had to deal with in Thailand. I got out of their clutches five years ago & I would never go back...........Its just a Total rip off company.

This is a scam I have seen it before. Just write back saying Money on the way, pick up at the usual place.
I did what you suggested and this is the reply:
Am glad you replied back, I have nothing left on me right now and I am lucky to have my life and passports with me it would have been worst if they had made away with my passports. Well all I need now is just $1,750 you can have it wired to my name via Western Union I'll have to show my passport as ID to pick it up here and i promise to pay you back as soon as I get back home.
Here's my info below.

IN brisbane Australia you owuld probably get a mutiple non-O, in Asia you will only get a single non-O. A single is good enough, only when you plan regular traveling out of Thailand might a mutiple non-O have more advantages.
The cost is 2,000 baht for a single and 5,000 baht for a multiple in local currency. They use their own exchange rates.
You will need paperwork from the charity confirming you will be working for them and asking for a visa for you.
A work permit must be obtained from a Thai labour office and costs 3,100 baht per year. You obtain it with the help of your employer. Both of you need to submit paperwork.
Thank you very much for the information......It should make things a little easier.
Cheers

Thank you for your responce.
What would be the best country to get a Non Immigranant O visa, or can I get one in Thailand?
What is the cost of a 1 year Non O visa multi entry?
Where do I get the work permit and also the cost?
Thanks for all of your help.

I have been offered a volunteer position with an Australian Charity in Thailand.
Which Visa should I get?
Do I also need a work permit?
Thank you for any help you can give.

I lived there for a few years, & IMO its much cheaper than Thailand. Try and get yourself Medical insurance just in case of a serious accident or illness you may have to be airlifted to Thailand or Vietnam for treatment.

47k x 12 = 564k + 236k = 800k required
Thank you Sir.

In this case, yes racism, no doubt. It's the part about the ASIANS, not the Thai part. If only differential for Thais, one can defend with the BS arguments, it's just a discount for Thais!, it's nationalism!, it's a socialist sentiment!, yadda yadda yadda.
Add the ASIAN part and that all goes out the window. Asian? Japanese, Singaporean? So poor. They can't afford the higher price. Asian? Burmese. So rich! They don't deserve the prize if they win. This can't be argued. It smells and stop trying to make excuses for it
For once I agree with you.. Its been going on in Thailand for a long time & its getting worse.
Can you imagine going to Disneyland in the states and the sign says Admission $25. Thai $50.. They would have Disney in the courts so fast it would make their head spin.... Just look at the recent case in Germany about the 737

Aeon?
in Chiang Rai
I used to like the old Top mall, the supermarket held occasional surprises.
It also carried stuff like V8 vegetable juice which Big C didn't.
I don't suppose I'll go there much now with Aeon ATMs at Central along with a Top supermarket and it's much more convenient for me.
I liked the pet supplies shop there though, the dog was a big fan of their chicken jerky.
Thanks for the info, I resent paying the bank fee of 150bt.
Hey Scea, what's jerky? Chicken sperm????
sceadugenga, is always chewing on that stuff, strange man that

The Hilton is 18k for a year just for the gym. I think it's 25k including the pool.
One month gym is 2k.
So the Hilton is the only place with a gym & pool?
