  1. even if they make them have insurance they will get round it by saying craft out of action for several days so i need loss of profit.............pay me or pay hospital more (still my favourite line i have overheard)

  2. was in the one under tukom south pattaya rd yesterday a lot more room and a lot more different products on display.

new chest freezers, tills moved, much better.

still work to do but it must be getting on for having doubled in size.

wine and booze selection still very poor compared to the nearby friendship

  3. yes, its pretty obvious now that the trees were the only thing stopping the runoff undermining the wall, could be an interesting month

except that is a brand new wall and pathway that was not there before.

i agree the construction standards are poor but the whole area has been reworked and that is not damage to existing infrastructure

  4. I take then that Dekchairs are completely gone now 24/7. Every single photograph from every single forum cannot be taken on a Wednesday !!

the beach deckchairs are still there but the weather effectively closed the beach and the bay/water activity for about 3 days

  5. One of the newspapers reported that the parasailing platforms had been damaged by the storm, so maybe they are out of action until they can repair them?

i can see them all with binoculars out of the window and i checked what they looked like when i read that story earlier in the week. innacurate reporting.

the bay has been shut since at least wednesday.

even yesterday there were no parachutes, no ski, no speedboats no ferries to and from koh larn, no nothing.

today the parachute platforms are back in business although the chinese trade is clearly down.

there were 9 platforms but they had been reduced to 7.

i've just done a chute count and i made 23 airbourne 5 mins ago. before the bkk incident at this time of day 08.30 ish it would mostly be in the high 30's or low 40's.

the beach itself took a pounding both from flood run off and heavy waves and it looks worse close up than those photos above.

the coconut bar tile surface was also damaged in about 5/6 places the biggest hole being opposite the bars at the bottom of soi 8.

ferries back in action this morning and i can also see jet ski

  6. the 99 bht one at everyday is fryday about 10 days ago.

Well tonight after a few drinks I thought I'd try this one at fryday, my report is excellent. Hand cut thick chips cooked to perfection and a nice piece of lovely battered fish.......and I don't care what the fish actually is, it's all about the taste and for 99 baht it was excellent.

    glad you enjoyed it.

apart from cod they do a medium priced grenadier fish for about 149.

one time me and a mate ordered 1 of each then cut them in half and swopped to both do a taste test.

they were different but we both decided next time we would just stick to the 99 baht offering

  7. the whole tale of where the second guy was arrested is all smoke and mirrors so as not to upset the chinese who were also after him.

it suits the cambodians to not admit they caught him and it suits the thais to claim the credit.

the transfer of the immigration officials is the tell tale marker that all is not what it seems

  8. went by today, still no work on the site but an official notice has been attached to the outside which i'm guessing is permission to start work.

but i don't speak thai so if anyone reading this does and is in town.......................
