  1. I would also like to add my own warning . . . to people thinking of buying a kettle. I have a new model Philips electric kettle. Twice in the past week i have come close to severely burning my hand when pouring water into a tea cup after being distracted by a bloody Thai.

I can only conclude Thailand is not a safe place to own a kettle owners. Do not buy one ( Unless you want to buy mine which is going cheap.)

  2. Similiar problem with TOT - half the sites hosted in US that I want to see arent available. The UK sites I usually look at are all OK though.

Can view all sites using my AIS GPRS connection OK, so it is a TOT problem rather than anything related to undersea cables.

I guess someone at TOT flipped a switch off before they went home last night and the problem will only be discovered around 9am on Monday morning.

  3. Forum rules:

    9) Not to discuss proxies or other methods of bypassing government blocking of websites.

Presumably that excludes discussing forum sponsors VPN Networks that offer this service.

  4. Does this mean that, in effect, both Koh Chang and Koh Samet are now alcohol free????

Old story, the ban on alcohol in parks was put in place a few weeks ago. The beach areas of Koh Chang arent in the National Park, so no effect at all. All of Koh Samet is in a National Park - which is why you have to pay the park entrance fee to go onto thew island. But I am pretty sure a blind eye will be turned to alcohol sales there . . if not the tourists will disappear.

  5. Bangkok Pundit did a piece on this a week ago. As Abhisit was born in the UK and his parents werent diplomats then he is a British citizen, whether he likes it or not. No proof anywhere that he has ever revoked his citizenship. He has never denied it

Does Bangkok Pundit have access to Google?

Abhisit denied this later, saying he was not a UK citizen.

If Abhisit is British, a claim he denies, attorneys hired by his wealthiest political opponent claim he can be tried for “crimes against humanity” in International Criminal Courts.

Pretty sure he has access to Google - in Thai language too which is why he found what Abhisit really said - word for word, which was not an outright denial, Different from what The Nation, a pro-Dem paper, reported.

No proof anywhere that he has ever revoked his citizenship. He has never denied it, except to say he paid overseas student fees when he studied at Oxford Uni. ( But this doesnt mean he isnt UK citizen, just that he didnt live permanently in the UK.)

No Thai journalists are going to start bringing up the subject of where their leaders were born and whether they are still citizens of the UK or USA.
