  1. Interesting...

    R9 Website

where in BKK i can found this and what is the price appr?

    or any similar brands?

    thanks alot

You can ask the forum sponsor, Sumet Cycles in BKK. They can probably source something for you (probably not the one shown on the video since they're made in Indonesia but you can probably order one at the R9 website for around 6,000 to 7,000 baht).

  2. Has anyone found flush type replacements for the stem type turn signals? With the way people park their bikes here (with all the wide parking space, some retards on a Click or a Wave put their bikes so close to yours you can barely get on the bike much less stand it upright - I'm baffled what goes into their heads ), someone's bound to break it off. Anyone else thinking of replacing them?

I noticed Red Baron have GSX1300R Hayabusa 99-07 flush indicators for 1,590฿ but i would reckon you'd have to modify the CBR fairing to make 'em flush. They also seem to have a range of LEDs here

Sticking to OEM for now... sooner or later something will be available.

BTW, Taichi, when you replaced the rear turn lights did you have to get a new relay for it, or did you just replace the lights?

  3. I got a pair of those from Brian. I think you'll need to replace all four or use a blinker relay for the pair to use them on the bike otherwise they'll just be on indefinitely. I've kept them at home, was thinking of selling them but then who knows I might need them if I'm getting a bigger bike in the future or maybe on some crazy project. ... Hopefully, no one has thrown them away, since they were Koso originals. They're still stem type though. Uppalux was fabricating something custom for his bike along with other plastic parts, I wonder how it went...

One of mine DID get broke at the Tesco on Hang Dong road, despite the fact that when I parked it, I put it at the very end with no other bikes within 10-15 FEET! Expensive as hell to replace. Would have been cheaper to order the smaller ones from Brian at Summet City instead.

I've seriously thought of buying a couple of more just to experiment on with a rotary tool (Dremel-like) and some superglue to make the stalks shorter. I saw the small ones like Brian has on a black/silver 250 at Niyom Panich a while back. Really small, but according to Brian, very bright and visible at night.

  5. I actually have my name in big bold red letters at the back of my white Real G-Force (which has an ECE 22.05 stamp, instead of a DOT one)... I've left it on top of the seat a couple of times outside...

Would probably ask a friend to bring over something like this next year...

A nasty helmet stink is also a good theft deterrent, if you can live with it.:D (No, i don't have this problem with my helmet. Took up a suggestion from someone on this forum about wearing a balaclava... never had any problems with the helmet stinking ever since.)

In a span of 3 months my BiL is on his fifth helmet already, it seems he's a favorite target with the teenagers at work.

  6. Maybe they'll build their lame new scooter-cycle series, the NC 700 in Thailand?

Comes in three "flavors" with the "Integra" being the most hideous-

Looks like a PCX beaten with an ugly stick, doesn't it?

You'd have thought Honda had learned their lesson after the monumental failure of the DN-01, but nope, apparently they're going to give their "scooter-cycle" concept another try...

Looks like a motorcycle, but look closer and you discover it's actually a scooter, minus all the conveniences of a real scooter... Or as the marketing guys try to spin it, "Motorcycle performance, scooter accessibility"...

Wait, do they pay people to design ugly stuff like this?

  7. My main finding in this area is that thers quite a tolerance on the gear you can buy and still be comfortable - as long as you moving!

It all goes to sheet as soon as you get stuck at a lights or attempt city commuting.

As a commuter my best defence is setting off early in the morning when its still cooler - but by jiggery I sweat on the way home if I wear a FF and a jacket.

Don't forget the balaclava...:D Helps keep the "stink" away from your helmet, it does...:)

Wearing a nice comfy shirt underneath the jacket does wonders (just as the Mongols used to wear silk undershirts beneath their heavy battle armor). Someone here once suggested splashing a bit of water on the jacket helps.

  8. An unsuccessful attempt at haggling. Last time I checked a brand new one was now around 80K.

My Thai friend who owns a red one recently bought an invoice-only Honda Steed but sold it 2 weeks after to a soldier in Mae Rim. When the soldier came to pick up the Steed he saw the CBR and asked if my friend was willing to sell it too. My friend said he didn't want to because he enjoyed riding the CBR a lot more than riding the Steed.

Someone at salemocyc.com is selling a red Fi version for 69K all stock except for a Thai made aftermarket exhaust (which doesn't look solidly built, BTW).

  9. Rim tape looks good! Here is what my rims have been sporting lately...... As KRS1 says on another thread, it's been great riding weather in the North but I did end up catching the very last rain storm.

Nice. Amazing how the rest of the bike stays spic and span while the the rims are all caked in mud...:)

Yep. It caked up so bad I had to stop and dig out out from the fender.

An hehe... 60,000 baht is a bit crazy. A buddy and I bought twin sisters for 35K and 37K with only 5000 km on the odometer. Granted that was a 5 years ago but the bikes were near new.

Yes, I think that price is a bit steep too. The 2009 model had an SRP of 68K. I saw a blue one and a black one last Saturday at the service center, along with an all-white CBR250.

Old carbed-model would probably be around 30K-40K, even lower.
