  1. Probably just put red tape on the rims will improve the red -black combo.

If I just keep it all black then yellow or silver tape. Anyone know where i can buy yellow or silver rim tape in CM (obviously not from Honda)?

Seat cowl, anyone? Something simpler than the bulbous one for the 250r would be nice. Something similar to this...

  2. What do you guys think about using this thread to discuss the NEW CBR-150 and then have the moderators change the title of CrowBoy's thread to describe the prior model? You could call it OLD or OLD SCHOOL or OLD MODEL or whatever.

Would help us all I think.

Less clutter/confusion... Then again there are plenty of posts there on the Fi version. Can those be transferred?

  3. Thank you Brian,

i just take it and like it driving

they check everything.they were no petrol, they say only 2l. but maybe less,so i didn't drive much, will fill full at the evening, but they didn't give me plates at all, even for some time. ehy say after 15 days. so i have to park it and wait for plates, and also get thai DL. i think the 1000km will not be soon.

i'd like to know where can i buy bag with has magnite and can be holded on bike,i saw it in Honda website but can not find now,it was accesories for CBR :(,why honda website is so complicated?

    thank you

    Regards

    Edgar

You can order one from Brian, specifically Sumet Cycles. I adjusted my brake and clutch levers when I got mine, and slapped on a tank guard sticker ( I got thicker but smaller Pro-Grip ones instead of the OEM ones from Honda).

BTW, you might want to check out the CBR150 Owner's thread on the forum and post inquiries there instead. http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/117958-honda-cbr150/page__st__2850:D

Congratulations on your new bike and ride safe...:)

  4. I will now in a feeble attempt to attract the other gender (real females that is) fit some bicycle tires on my Ninja... That should do it huh???

Wonder if I shuold bother to photoshop that first, just to get a real perspective on the view...

Not sure if you can find bicycle wheels to hold that much weight... :cheesy:

  5. I prefer this...

  6. Filipino (with Chinese ancestry -- my maternal great grandfather was from Macau), not Thai... though most of the time people mistake me for one. The last longer trip I had with the CBR a few Thais at the gas station mistook me for a Japanese , same thing happens when I'm with my wife and son at the mall. I speak Thai fluently (more or less) since I've been here for almost 9 years.:D

  7. I went looking at helmets today. The main Mityon branch (Pattaya) didn't have the CBR helmets but the Kawasaki shop (which is owned by Mityon) did. They had the 3 different colours and all looked good, though the Black/Grey one had the eagle face but not the Japanese writing. Unfortunately they only had L sizes, which was a bit loose for me. The biggest problem though was the price, they wanted THB4,900!!! The REAL Classic is THB2500.

I have the opposite problem - they have an M or L but it's usually an XL or an XXL for me :(.

  8. I'm not sure what happened, but if you go to CM Immigration, they have about 5 White 150s parked there with "IMMIGRATION" on the tanks And one time my wife and I were coming home in the car and passed a small police "checkpoint" and there were as many as a dozen or more white 150's with "POLICE" sticker on the gas tanks. I saw one that was a charcoal gray with "POLICE" on the tank in white letters, and all black with white letters. The black and the gray I've seen once. As for the white ones, I've yet to see police on them. I know in the BoSang / San Kamphaeng area there are at least 2 black ones identical to my old one that are owned by BIB. But it looked for a while like CM Police were all going to be going with white ones, but then something happened and the "deal fell through". Oh, well, it's still the "bike of choice" for the majority of loan sharks. hahaha.

A neighbor who owns a somtam restaurant across the old San Kamphaeng market used to have an old banged up black one parked right in front of his restaurant. The bike looked like it had been involved in a real bad crash. Yeah, I've seen a couple of cops in black slim CBRs around the area.

  9. Actually, I saw a police officer riding a white slim CBR150 police bike in Maerim (the more appropriate term would probably whizzed passed by) and it still looked really nice. It was a pre-Tiger Boxer police bike.

    It looked like this:

I hear Malaysia has CBR250s for their police force.

  10. Did you notice the BIG signs in BoSang just prior to Songkran warning people to make sure they locked their bikes, as there were gangs from other places coming here and stealing bikes?

Theft seems at an all time high. Friend had a brand new step-through stolen in the middle of the day not far from Santiam Plaza in CM. Police department for that area said his was number 44 for the month, and this was 3 weeks into August.

    Do you mean Santitham Plaza?

  11. Did you notice the BIG signs in BoSang just prior to Songkran warning people to make sure they locked their bikes, as there were gangs from other places coming here and stealing bikes?

Not really but my family warned me about it. I don't normally use the CBR when I'm in San Kamphaeng just our old Wave S or one of our very old Suzuki Crystals. I know lots of bikes have gone missing around that area. Even our neighbor who sells food at the market had her very old Honda Dream stolen, so we padlock our bikes, wherever their parked, even the old ones.

I recall parking my bike in front of the big barbershop beside the CP meat shop near San Kamphaeng Market. When I came back the right mirror was really loose as if someone tried to take it. Lesson learned, I use the old underbones for trips around town (I remember we tried to sell my old Suzuki Crystal for around 5000 baht no one would buy it, so I guess it's not attractive to thieves).

There are some new signs there too about new speed limits... Just a heads up, it's 80km/h for motorcycles.

  12. 1 - Nice design on the helmet. Did you have that done in BoSang or Chiang Mai Market?

2 - That sucks about the bag.

3 - Those gloves are similar to the ones Honda sells, with the main difference being that the ones from Honda have a heavy duty, clear plastic "Knuckle" protection for the upper knuckles of the hand. I've also ridden with them in the rain and they're fine when wet.

1-Had it done in Bo Sang, since it's just a short ride from my house. Did the design myself with on Illustrator and Photoshop, opted for the cheaper low resolution print, since I'll be replacing the helmet in a year anyway. They do have a limited selection of materials, but since I've had a lot of stuff done there before I get discounts. There's an option to print it in high resolution at 300dpi, probably the best option if you're printing decals for your bike. would have preferred to have it done with reflective vinyl (scotchlite maybe). The shop in Chiang Mai has a wider selection of materials (they evenhave pseudo carbon sheets), they also do installation.

2-Got a lecture from my mother-in-law about being too naive and careless. I assumed it would be fine since everyone around the area knew me, but a thai friend told me he's been seeing a bunch of suspicious characters around that place lately. I was lucky I didn't put anything in the bag.

  13. Pardon my ignorance but have any of you guys figured out how to use the helmet holder ( the short steel cable loop in inside the pillion seat or is it used for something else)?

As for lids here's what I did to mine...

    post-118861-0-99924400-1315187786_thumb.

It's a Real G-Force, and yes the inner linings are removable they're just a bit of a bother to put back on.

I recently got these from someone here on the forums at a bargain price:

    speed_strength_twistfate_sx_gloves_blue_400.jpg

Speed & Strength, The Twist of Fate SX Gloves. I've been using them for around 4 days now and rode with them twice in the heavy rain. No problem with these getting soggy in the rain and they fit nicely too.:D Would have liked them in red or all black but someone else beat me to them.

A few days ago I went for some ice cream at a 7-11 somewhere in the boonies and left my tank bag on the bike (I figured it would just take me a minute to get a cone). The next day as I opened it, I noticed one of the sides had been slashed by a knife or a razor. At first, I thought it just got ripped, but when I went to my local cobbler to have it repaired he confirmed my suspicions. There goes the idea to get Kriega bags...

  14. I always paint myself. Pylac makes every color you'll need in automotive grade lacquer. It's a spray can, but if you get the distance, pile up and timing just right a glass finish can be accomplished. Another coat of clear lacquer helps also. Runs about 150 baht a can. Need 4 to paint a CBR 150.

If your going to do some designs with tape, remove the tape while the paint is still wet

One can never have enough clear coat...:D

That's interesting. I used to help with some automotive painting back home when I was a teen, we used to remove the tape when the paint was already dry and just used rubbing compound to smooth the edges before applying the clear coat...

I guess you paint in really thin layers to avoid bleeding/dripping.

BTW dude, where do you get your paints in Chiang Mai?
