  1. 100's of different versions of events in the area. Who really knows what is happening. The last report I heard was that Elvis was captured by Cambodian forces whilst running naked between the lines. He is now being deported back to the US on terrorism charges.

Have they captured his spaceship too or is the just a conspiracy theory.

Nothing confirmed on that yet, we will just have to wait for the updates comming out of the area.

  2. This article is very misleading. In baht terms, Thailand's oil comes from very stable places. Here are the top 5 sources for 2010

    1) UAE - 33%

    2) Saudi Arabia - 18%

    3) Oman - 9%

    4) Australia - 8%

    5) Russia - 7%

So 75% of Thai crude oil imports (in baht terms) come from these five countries. Seems OK to me. Have a look for yourself - http://www2.ops3.moc.go.th/menucomen/

That's fine but the oil prices are set by OPEC and not individual countries. If one oil producing nation sneezes it effects the global market and not just that country.

  3. One should accept and respect the extreemly high morale standards Thailand has when it come to the human body and sex. WESTERNERS should stop think about the other tourists such as our Arabic, Russian, Chinese, and Japanese friends just to name a few who come here just to enjoy the sun, food and culture. If Thaiand does not take a stance now these imorale acts displayed by those from the WEST could see this tropical paradise slide into decay.

Before we know it bars could open up in whole streets where WESTERN women will be dancing and flirting thier bodies have naked. We will have men dressing in womens clothing prouncing around the streets in a sexually provocative way flashing thier fake boobs at tourists. Heavens forbid we could even have whole cities dedicating themselves to this way of life where WESTERN men will flock for the flesh. Crime may increase and tourists from the East and Asia could find themselves the victims of scams.

Yes Westerners cover up on the beach and stop this quasi-nudism. This is not the Gold Coast or Surfers Paradise in Australia this is Thailand.

  4. Not wanting to be a spoil sport, but surely 770 billion baht would be much better spent alieviating poverty (micro finance schemes and adult vocational training) and upgrading the school facilities (imagine how many teachers that could train to alleviate the chronic overcrowding) and as has been highlighted by recent news articles fixing the financially crippled state run hospitals in Thailand.

The army has a <deleted> cheek to ask the Thai taxpayer to fund this. This request should be met with the response - go blow it out your arse!!!! :annoyed:

Yes just like the taxpayers of other countries have to pay for thier own defence. Maybe Thailand should ask England or Australia or whoever to fund thier defence force. Yes a bloody cheeky request ;) Maybe we can have a whip around to help them out.

Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia all have communist governments. You know why Thailand still has a monarchy. George, you know who pays for Thailand's defense. You know who had 50,000 troops stationed in Thailand recently and built the East coast industrial ports. Now you are encouraging the Yanks to get involved again?

I'm sorry I didn't know they saved Thailand from communisism, pay the Thai Military bill or built the Thai East coast Industry. I am not encouraging them to return heaven forbid. I didn't even mention them in my post.

  5. Why are people so resentful at this particular illegal activity?

People go to Pattaya for what? No need to spell it out, we all know and it is illegal, isn't it?

A case of wanting your cake and eating it too.

Like the drug addict complaining that his dealer isn't law-abiding.

if the police did their job in Pattaya, you wouldn't want to go there.

People go to Pattaya to experience the Thai culture, the sunshine and the beaches. They take photo's and return home and brag how they have experienced the wonderful culture of Thailand without even leaving the borders of Pattaya.

  7. After they do thier time they will probably be granted Aussie citizenship. Just like this guy......

A convicted killer named Soombeom Park. He stabbed his wife to death in a jealous rage in South Korea and spent seven years in jail in Seoul.

When he came to Australia in 2008 he lied on his arrival card. Stated he had no criminal history even though he had done time for murder. He now lives here in Australia with his second wife reportedly in similar circumstances to those he lived in with his first wife.

Soombeom Park finally admitted his past when he applied for permanent residency.

The Federal Government ruled that he was an undesirable. The Immigration Minister ruled he was a risk to the Australian community and ordered him deported.

But the Administrative Appeals Tribunal overruled the Government and ordered Park be released from a detention centre. He is now walking around as free as you or I.

  8. A good friend visited, fell for and married a Thai woman, took her back to oz, on a marriage visa which apparently expires when the marriage breaks down if that occurs within 2 (?) years. Every dollar she could grab was sent back to Thailand, where we later discovered she was buying a new Isuzu pick-up.

He finally had enough when he stopped for fuel on the way home, on payday, and the bank a/c was already empty.

Oz immigration not only let her stay, it let her bring in her Thai boyfriend on that visa. <deleted>.

She filed a AVO for "Excessive Sexual Demands" (he has it framed on his wall) and divorce claiming half his house, his car, future financial support............. after less than a year of marriage.

I suggest anyone get both sides of a story before commenting, but expect the word avarice to crop up.

Everyone that gets married should have a solid prenuptial agreement, regardless of whether husband and wife are upstanding members of society or not. Especially for marriages between thai and non-thai because the bride applicant pool is so commonly low end socio-economically. There should also be a clause referring to a will that makes it clear she will get nothing if the husband dies due to questionable circumstances as determined by the executor.

At least the so caller nigerian scammers screw you from a distance, unlike some of these wives screw you close and in your face.

But the food here is really GREAT

prenupt's are not legal nor are they worth the paper they are written on in Australia.

  9. Seems a little cheap I mean what you are asking. We built ours 4 yrs ago for 1.9 m and it is valued at 3.5 today. We live in the Sansai area. My wife works for a farang owned real estate agent. If I were you I would a valuation done before you sell it off.

  10. I read the articles on news.google.co.uk, there's over 1000 articles on this now so I don't have a link to the original one but here's a couple I came across which you might find interesting, especially the second one :

    Consulate Staffer shoots people

    http://www.latimes.c...0,6272074.story

This one is controversial - it says the consulate is lying and he's a black ops spy type

    http://www.veteranst...ops-contractor/

Davis, driving a rented car with phony license plates, loaded with automatic weapons and advanced Israeli built surveillance gear, was heading toward Mozang Chongi, a market district in Lahore that has been the scene of terror bombings in the past, bombings local residents suspect American contractors such as Davis have had a role in.

    Thanks ukrules.....very interesting

That quote about his car & the weaponry is a bit outside normal diplomatic duties eh?

Couple that with his obvious shooting abilities & it does make one wonder.

If I had to guess I would say blackwater....AKA: XE Services employee

This man in the picture does not look very diplomat like

    59091260.jpg

Maybe if he had a shave he might.
