A few years back I returned to Thailand after moving to Mexico, vowing never to return (yeah, I didn't get a re-entry permit. I've beat myself up PLENTY over THAT one!). It cost me 18k or 19k baht at Jomtien Immigration to get the "retirement visa" squared away. The alternative was a stack of forms, all in Thai, and a requirement to make several trips to some Bangkok office. Of course all this was before the 800k baht requirement. Regarding a bank account, it's hit and miss, but if you persist you will eventually find a bank that will let you open an account with a tourist visa, particularly if you dress smart, talk politely, and explain what you are trying to do. Let us know how it turns out for you and best of luck.

Trump's own words:
"Build the Wall and Mexico will pay for it!""It's an invasion." (This will be prominent in his re-election speeches per his media team)
"Illegal aliens!"
"Caravan infestation!"
"They're rapists."
"These are animals!"
"They're criminals!"
Words have consequences, particularly when you are considered by many to be the leader of the free world. He has the bulliest pulpit at this time and such words so OBVIOUSLY stir up hatred, anger and fear. The words left behind by the two most recent shooters quoted Trump. To say Trump's actions aren't partially responsible is indefensible.

If I wanted to bother, I could find a "mainstream" poll that backs what I posted. The point is polls are not to be trusted.

I seem to recall election night 2016 where polls had Hillary winning in the 90% area. Pervy Sleepy Uncle Joe doesn't stand a chance against Trump.

Kamala Harris had her criminal judgeship record nearly expunged from the official website. She has a LOT to be ashamed of.

U.S. embassy travel warnings for Thailand at this moment:
"Exercise normal precautions in Thailand. Some areas have increased risk. Read the entire Travel Advisory."

Pompeo seems to be a bigger liar and fantasist than Trump.
He is the poster child for boot licking sycophants. I watched an interview of him when the "wall" was the hot topic.
Interviewer: "But will Mexico pay for the wall?"
Pompeo: "The wall will be built."
Interviewer: "But who is going to pay for the wall? Mexico like Trump said?"
Pompeo: "The wall will be built."
repeat ad nauseum.

I think the bigger question was why did Targaryen commit genocide on the people?
My personal belief (and I have nothing to support this other than my personal viewing of the show) is she just went off the deep end as her family was wont to do.

In the US, it's easier to buy a gun and kill a lot of people than it is to vote. Totally upside down!

You forgot the option "This would only matter if the laws were actually implemented then adhered to."

You can get medication to stop the drinking. It's a LOT less expensive than the booze. Then wait and see if a lot of the problems don't start to disappear. Good luck!

I dunno. Trump has historically expressed displeasure with Madoff before any of his crimes were exposed. I really hope you're wrong, Madoff ruined WAY too many people's lives.

As long as none of the names is "Madoff" then that's ok.

Can you PLEASE think about CHANGING your posting style as it is REALLY annoying to SOME people.
Jingthing is using poetic license. I personally can't stand many of his points of view but appreciate his right to post as he sees fit.

Haven't seen a "Let's bash Thailand" post in at LEAST a week or two. I left Thailand after ten years, vowing never to return. I was back in six weeks with a newfound appreciation. You'll never find a perfect place. For most of us here, we MAKE it as perfect as we can and ignore the rest.

I worked IT for years, and we all understood every time Micro$oft would roll out something new, they hadn't tested it thoroughly - why should they when we were their perfect guinea pigs? I have a feeling 5G is being rolled out the same way.

USA it's 'ok' others it's 'not ok'. I'm surprised you allow such an Elephant to enter your room.
Of course USA will defend itself against any hacks as will Russia and the rest of the world but to suggest 'holier-than-thou' USA is any different is the biggest deflection of all time.We have got to STOP the "They did it so why can't I?" defense. That's plain ridiculous, a childish frame of mind.
