  1. The answer. Please all O Negative people on this forum respond.

O Negative is a universal donor. She can receive O Negative.

To the poster who said that he is O positive, - sorry. Appreciate that you are desirous of helping, but that blood type cannot solve the problem.

In this case it is only A Negative or O Negative. I lived in Chaing Mai for 8 years and donated my blood regularly (O Negative).

I was donating blood at 55 without any problems at the Chiang Mai Red Cross.

So, to the posters who say that they will not take the blood after 50 years old, I say - that may well be the case around Thailand,

But it certainly was not my experience. Try anyway, and specify to whom you want the blood to go to.

Better still, - to those in Chiang Mai. Go directly to the hospital.

  2. Yes, I know that it has all been said before, but here I am saying it again.

All politicians in most countries use issues, new regulations etc. to divert attention away from their own incapacity to truly create change in the areas that are important. For whatever reason, - they cannot! So, they employ diversionary tactics. It happens everywhere.

In the case of Military Rule.... seems to be more diversion!!!

However, in the case of Thailand this has become a daily tactic. Alcohol, Tattoos, smoking hookas, earings, blah blah blah.

Thailand has dug itself into a world scandal hole. The smart guys have left the country or do not want to be associated with the garbage.

Who is left to run the country?

Military who have never proven their tactics anywhere?

  3. Another Death!

Someone above mentioned that Thailand is no more dangerous than other countries at night in certain areas.

Quite a fair statement. Many areas in many cities around the world are dangerous.

However, the same poster said "just stay away from the sex industry in Thailand late at night".

Almost impossible in the major cities and entertainment areas!

Given that Thailand attracts so so many sex tourists, and given the high incidence of Farangs found dead in rooms in various circumstances - and the higher percentage of them supposedly from suicides, - poses a lot of questions.

Likewise, the incidence of suicide balcony jumpers.

Just too many hotel room suicides, just too many balcony suicides to be ignored!

Are they all over-aged suicidal alcoholics? No they are not. The age is spread out - not just older age suicidal nuts!

Or does Thailand just attract suicidal nutters? If so ` Why?

Or, - the more obvious? Crime. Murder.

This does not happen in Thailand. Right? But we read about it more than a few times weekly.

Sure, they may be some suicides, but can anyone on this forum really say that Thailand does NOT have a higher frequency of supposed suicide deaths than most countries amongst its tourist and ex-pat (farang) visitors?

Yes - Thailand does. Go research!

    Is Thailand dangerous? Yes!

    Is Thailand corrupt generally? Yes!

Is the Judicial System corrupt? Yes!

Is the media reporting suppressed / restricted? Yes!

So, can we expect any reasonable reporting on any issues? No!

    Very Sad!

But - this goes on in all countries. Thailand is just becoming worse!

  4. I am not a fan of the current regime, but those who point the finger of blame or misconduct are not being real.

The so called western / advanced countries are also ill equipped to handle virulent disease outbreaks.

I can speak from first hand experience. I contracted SARS whilst traveling on a plane from Hong Kong to LA in 2003.

The guy sitting in front of me was the carrier. I am Australian, but living in the USA at the time.

The disease control centre in Atlanta contacted me 6 weeks after the fact to test my blood and to confirm that I did indeed contract that virus. That is how long it took them. Yes, even in the USA.

It was a very bad near death experience, which I thankfully got through. I am told that I now have anti-bodies to SARS.

But my point is, - it is difficult to arrest the spread of diseases like this and one can not blame governments.

Always people think that things like this only happen to others (not me).

People should just be vigilant and aware of this fact.

So easy for these diseases to spread like wildfire. It well could! Conversely, it could also disappear just as quickly.

    I hope for the latter!

  5. If one compares the two interviews, the man in exile wins hands down.

Not saying I am in favor of either of them.

But, the man in power now has a time bomb ticking.

I think he will be taken out if he continues down his current path.

The boys in the USA or internally.

If they pass a criminal sentence on Yingluk, - he is going to have major problems from many areas of the world and from within Thailand. He will most likely have a coup within his own coup!

  6. This is a joke!

One can go to any supermarket anywhere in the world and if you know what to buy in the herb & spice department and fresh food department, and how to cobine .... you are whacked on strong drugs for quite a while - for less than $10.

All one has to do is study the history of wars.

Do they ban those items? No! Because they are too mainstream.

Easy to make make opiates without poppies.

    Just research a bit.

  7. Just another daily piece to try and make them look as though they are doing something with higher morals.

Had to create a grand illusion that he is doing something after his embarrassments of the last week.

Should at least do a media release that is plausible / believable.

Not more crazy rants like this. The big boss would end up in a coffin himself - if he ever tried to implement this.

It is all just insanity and you should all just have a good laugh at this kind of dribble - that has now almost become a daily event.

  8. The General does not want his dictatorship criticised, he knows best and he will not tolerate foreign interference. It won't be long before the General closes down more of the free press and starts to restrict journalists entering Thailand. It's starting to look and act more and more like Myanmar use to be every day.

I am no longer in Thailand (after 7 years of stay). But, very concerned about what is happening there right now.

I agree with many of the posts - stating that things may become quite bad for farangs in the no so distant future.

This man and his team are ruling with an iron fist and it is clear that they are not tolerant of any person, organization or country

that speaks out against his military coup and rule.

Therefore, I suggest that those people who are posting on this site or any others, - to be careful.

This guy is dangerous. I know that this site is read daily by the cronies.

I just hope they do not get access to the identities of the people writing who also live in Thailand.

Not being paranoid, - just foresee that this could be on his mind.

Use the web and international publications, - cover your identity well. Just a thought / suggestion.

There are countries that do hunt down people who they deem to be threatening to the dictator style rule.

  9. Another sad story. She tweeted about about taking valium and tramadol, both of which could cause death,if taken in excess and/or if mixed with alcohol which she also tweeted about. Hopefully the forensics will do a proper job. If it was drugs and alcohol, that should be easy to determine.

I think that the reason we have many people who are concerned here, - is because of the history on this island.

Forget Sherlock Holmes types, - conspiracy theorists. Yes all have checked in here on TV.

Just look at facts. Yet again, a few days have passed - and as one poster above has mentioned, - it does not take a Sherlock to read a label on a bottle to determine what drugs she was taking or which pharmacy it came from. That should only take a few hours for any reasonable police research to determine. Actually, do not need to be police.... any person with a reasonable intellect can do it. But typical ... oh we do not know yet!

Here is the the interesting thing. Hands tied behind a hung man.... Oh - that was suicide.

A bottle of prescription drugs.... oh that was an accident. Right? Same as falling off a balcony.

    No balconies on that island.

    What about "hot shot" pills?

Why are people (including me) so doubting and so concerned about the activities and loss of life on that island?

You so called rationalists that say -- ... oh lets wait! Wait for what? More BS data?

This is getting beyond a joke.

I never expected that Thailand would become like it has now.

If the PM does not step in and do a major overhaul soon, - Thailand will be looked on as a "military state", - and the tourism industry will be gone.

We live in a "Global Village" and social networks have great power.

Thailand, .... you are pushing it right now!

  10. Corrupt People .... Making Examples of Corrupt People!

Insanity that is so ridiculously transparent. Hypocrisy at its best!

They actually take their pious decisions seriously and want people to think ...that they are handing down justice.

Another great laugh for all ... courtesy Thailand..... Thainess.

If only an International Anti - Corruption Kangaroo Court was in existence, nearly every politician in Thailand would go down.

For that matter.... a great percentage of nearly all politicians - Globally.

  11. Is anyone game enough to research and print a list showing who the actual owners of many of the clubs and bars are in Chiang Mai?

Not the front Managers. The owners.

Quite surprising really. Many senior people.

Not just in Chiang Mai, but all over Thailand. Many law makers and their families.

Nothing is going to change. The Governor knows that.

Just saying what needs to be said to appease people. Appearances.

    Blah Blah Blah!

  12. In the murder case a few months ago on that same island...... as I remember, an english guy departed that island quickly because he had a threat against him that he would be hanged and that it would look like a suicide.

    Any of you remember that.

As I said in an earlier post, - statistically many balcony suicides and many hanging suicides in Thailand.

Are Thais so crazy to think that they can still call Thailand a safe place?

Sure many countries in this world that are unsafe, - but unless Thailand uplifts it's act soon, - its tourism will become less and less.

All it takes is a few websites to start telling people not to go there and give them safer alternatives.

    Thailand! Wake Up!

  13. Yep, ... the Thai Government can pass a law... in the face of scientific evidence gathered over decades from Phd's from all over the planet. Typical "Thainess".

Thailand.... you are killing yourself. Your allegiance to the wealthy and your corrupt system will one day catch up with you.

Another unbelievable slur on your own country .... that the world is watching.

Thailand..... can you ever wake up?

    Does not look like it.

I wish that someone within your so corrupt system has the balls to speak out.

Unfortunately, - that would most likely mean a death sentence.

    Not enough evidence?

    What century is this?

  14. Who pays you for your two pennies of quotes? A Thai loyalist!

    Chiang Rai? You serious?

You have been to to these other countries right? Have you lived there?

    I doubt it.

Whilst I am in agreement about Mexico and Equador, I have to say that Costa Rica wins hands down compared to Thailand. No comparison.

I've been to Ecuador, Panama, Mexico, Costa Rica and Colombia.

No way do they surpass Chiang Rai, Thailand.

    Unless you like "Coca-cola" a lot, 555

The Quecha people in Ecuador are extremely poor and cold and resentful.

Panama is for right-wing idiots who are too stupid to use another currency than American Dollars.

Costa Rica is boring, unless you consider a country packed with dumb Americans and Canadians "exciting".

Columbia is OK, but so much of the money there directly or indirectly comes from their #1 export: Coke. And the glue/gasoline/coke paste sniffers are disgusting (any big city).

Mexico is in the midst of a giant war: drug cartels vs the government. Farangs might be OK, but if you are Mexican and you have any money at all, you are at risk of being extorted or kidnapped.

The food in Columbia and Panama sucks. After a month or two, you will get tired of "gallo pinto", the rice and beans stir fried in lard street food of Costa Rica.

  15. Costa Rica is probably at the top of my list. The country is stable. No military.

Education and healthcare fantastic. Woman.... beautiful.

Do some research. Preferably, live research. VERY BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY.

I lived in Thailand for seven years. I am married to a Thai. Currently in Australia, - but I have my eye on moving to Costa Rica ... based a on about six months of living there (before Thailand).

I am done with Thailand. We miss many things about Thailand, - but it seems to have gone down hill.

    COSTA RICA. Check it out!

  16. To all British Subjects......

Send emails to you local MP.

    Send emails to the PM.

    Put them all on notice.

Send emails expressing total disgust for the words of the British Ambassador here in Thailand.

Tell them all... that unless they get up off their fat <deleted>... they are not only going to lose YOUR VOTE... but every one you know and what ever you can muster on the social media.

These are the deaths of two British Subjects.

The British Government have to step in when the Thais do what they normally do. LIE.

I hope that there are a few people out there who read this ... that actually do something. Who have the guts!
