Nobody is forced to work for Grab. If the riders don't like the pay, then they are free to quit and look for another job. Same goes for the meter taxis, who say that the meter-fare is to low and use this as an excuse to rip off customers.

Thanks to all of you for your suggestions.
Our condo technician came by and removed the lid of the heater and found a broken fue inside.
After replacing it and turning the main breaker back on, the tiny black cylinder-shaped thing next to the fuse released a ray of smoke and that was the end of the operation.
Bought the same heater at Home Pro yesterday (4500 Baht) and the technician from them will come over and change the heater tomorrow without any further cost.
Hope that will solve the problem. Thanks again

The operation light on my MEX water heater Type 3700 3C doesn't come on (was working fine yesterday) and as a result there's no hot water. Any ideas what I should do ?
Thanks in advance.

The maps on this website look best when in "Terrain" mode.
You find this function in the menu, in the upper left corner of each map.

I do not have a GPS or a smart phone and use an old Nokia, that needs to be charged every 5-6 days.
When I do a motorbike tour, I look up everything I need to know on my computer at home and if necessary, I write important things onto a piece of paper.
Just like in the good old days. It's easy enough, isn't it.

To open up the speculations: the fast driving Russian collided with 3, probably drunken, Thais in the middle of the road.

I'm also looking for a new lawyer in CM, if anyone has somebody they can recommend, the issue is property related. I've been happily using the services of Kuhn Sumalee for many years but it's now time for a change!
Anyone ?

Kuhn Sumalee is still somewhat active but it's almost impossible to get her attention these days, the OP may want to explore the UK or US Embassy lists of lawyers in CM.
Sounds great. thanks a lot.

Thanks. Is a consultation free of charge ?

Can anyone recommend an English speaking lawyer in Chiang Mai, who is familiar with property law, in particular with condominium law ? Thanks.

So lets get this straight.
1. Its a five year visa, not 10.
2. Cost of extension of stay goes up by THB 500,- (compared to 5 x 1900).
3 Required money in the bank almost four folds to 3 Mio..
4. Out patient health insurance is compulsory (makes no sense).
5. The 3 Mio Baht bank deposit can't be withdrawn for 1 year (??)
Whoever came up with these conditions, lives in a fantasy world. A step backwards.
Hope they will still do the old 1 year extensions.

My change was short of 100 Baht at Rimping, a few months ago. After noticing, I went straight back to the tiller to complain. Without having said a single word, the girl gave me 100 Baht. It was obvious that she did it on purpose. Wonder how much extra money she makes. Now I use other tillers and all is fine. Be aware !

Kukri snake of some kind?
Mostly harmless. (They do bite if you bug them, but no venom.)
It's got a scary face

Apart from increasing its value, The main problem with many condos is the lack of proper management. The management companies give a heck and spend as much as possible, only in order to increase the common fee.

I'm not sure of the cut sizes but the stationery store just along from the UN Irish pub have a good selection of polystyrene sheets. Various thickness available.
It's not hard to cut into size if it's too big. Buy a new box cutter type knife, to ensure you have a sharp edge. The thinner polystyrene sheets are easier to cut thru but all can be done easily enough.
For thicker sheets, mark both sides and cut about half way through each side for a cleaner finish.
Thanks, I check it out tomorrow. Maybe they do cut it for me.

Just the usual propaganda news that pops up on a regular basis to save face. No way all those people constantly forget large sums in a cab.
