Should I remove the failed HDD physically, or it's enough to just disable it in the BIOS ?

I'm not exactly clear how to backup, since I do not have an access to the drives.

Perhaps you could describe the exact symptoms that make you think the drive has failed as it may still be accessible?

I have two Seagate drives installed on my Win10 Pro. One of them is probably failed.

Where is the service center in Bangkok that can repair the HDD ?

Yes indeed, it's quite a simple job to make a bigger rectangular hole in the plywood top.

I wish, I were a couple of years younger and able to do it myself.

90 days is from the date the 90 day report was approved and not from the expiry date of the previous one.

Is this logical?

Today 25 August, after several attempts, at 5:47pm, I succeeded to submit my application (get my TM number), using IE on Win 10.

My application has been approved today, 27 August.

The first time I have to wait two weeks, or so. This time it took two days only. But, the next application I have to submit on 25 Nov 2015, instead of 8 Dec 2015. Their calculation of 90 days isn't logical.

I am trying to submit my application the second time now. The first time was successful. Now I am on Win 10, but still use IE for submission.

After filling the Personal info on the first page I am getting the error message (same as in the post #1233).

What's wrong?

The point that I tried to stress is that Microsoft's staff is relying on the "system" that isn't perfect. There is no human intervention allowed. They can't do nothing about the outcome. The "system" was supposed to give a notice of the key restrictions in advance, so to avoid the problems, and it did not. That was my complain.

Do you still have the old hard drive with a working Windows 7?

Unfortunately, it was ruined in the process.

If you had followed my advice last December, you wouldn't be in this position. As is the norm on this forum, most everyone goes for the 'quick fix'.

What I can say, you were right. You saw it coming.

Why not buy and install Windows 8.1? You were going to upgrade to Win 10 anyway.

I just reinstalled Win 7, which was enough headache and took me a couple of days.

My argument is that it's a fault of Microsoft's "system" that it didn't alerted me to the potential problem with the licence key. My OS was activated with that key and declared as genuine.

The key was given to me by someone. I used it for quite a long time without any problem. I even get an invitation (small icon in the task bar) to install Windows 10. In preparation to the Win 10, I decided to put my OS on the new SSD drive, so that Win 10 will be installed on the SSD. Here the problem started...

I called to Microsoft and was told that my key is a MSDN key and it can not be activated. They simply don't care to hear my explanations. It's the "system" they said. They also told me that it's impossible to buy a Windows 7 key anymore, just Windows 8/8.1.

My attempts to argue with them wasn't productive so far.
