The shooting occurred in front of Viengjan entertainment center Moo 1 Tambon Thanu, Amphur Uthai. When police arrived, a lot of people were backing their cars out of the parking lot to escape the scene.
You would think one of the first responses of the police would be to secure the scene , block the car park exit , at least they would have a chance of tracking suspects down from vehicle registrations ( if they escaped on foot ).
Read on - the first words of the next paragraph - and your comment makes a bit less sense:
"As police officers blockaded the area, the sound of gunshots could still be heard several times."

Sounds like 2 rival technical colleges again. Poor girl was probably caught in the crossfire. Tragic whatever the cause.
Really?! Based on WHAT?

I am not an expert in the field but dare to say that I find the numbers claimed by the BMA bizarre; the 60 mm per DAY max drainage capacity is absolutely ridiculous, and once more proves they have no idea what they are talking about. Not a single city in the would has such a low capacity.
The figure of 721 millimetres of rainfall so far this months is extremely unlikely and incredible - and it should be easy for the Met Dept to prove it's just another lie - not a white one, but an soaking wet one. Why not sack those for systematically misleading the public. They are a shame on and a danger to the country.

The mere requirement of obtaining such "permits" is a shame beyond shame.
Over the past 10 years or so, I have asked more than a dozen immi officers to give me a single reason, other than "it's in the law" - for the existence of this ridiculous requirement, and - not to my surprise - no one could. Red tape sticks better - and worse - than any glue.

Is it not the case that there are certain toilet facilities which are known as paedophile meeting spots? That being the case I would say it was appropriate to have cameras to identify that old men were taking young boys into cubicles. That way there could be no argument about guilt or otherwise.
So if the question is............would I approve of cameras in toilets to catch paedophiles? You better believe it.
I'm quite happy to lose a little bit of privacy if it helps catch and convict these sick b*stards.
I suppose by your comment it would be inappropriate to have cameras to identify young men taking young boys into cubicles right? What is it with you guys with the one paint brush fits all pedos as being "old guys". I know this guys is 65 and is a piece of pond scum and in my opinion should be castrated if guilty.
Lay off the old guys crap!
Castrate? There is plenty of scientific research showing castration does NOT solve the problem - it's all 'between the ears', i.e. in the brain, if any, whatever. Unfortunately, the "hang them" and "castrate them" mentality is still popular among some primitive folks. Talking about civilisation...

Lies, Lies Lies here on TV. Those photos are fakes There is no flooding, we're all imagining it, It hasn't happened - Yingluck said so and she's so beautiful and charismatic that I can't imagine she would say something if it wasn't untrue. Lies, Lies, Lies.
I'm going to put my head in the sand now and hope it all goes away.
In the sand? Or...

So why this email alert headline
"Sukhothai, Ayutthaya flood worsens"

i'm guessing local DEMAND is to blame, not the burmese.
Thailand has actually become a major transit country. Remember the $ 500 mln catch in Australia 1 or 2 months ago? From Burma, via Thailand.

"Mr Hera’s blood contained more than 200 parts per million of alcohol."
Why didn't we read anything about the blood of Red Bull / Black Horse Worrayuth Yoovidhya?!
Because there was none , the gate log of the security Guard show he left his home 13 minutes before the accident...unless that was falsified too?
After reading the quote below this morning, had to smile again at your comment:
"Mr Vorayuth's lawyer said his client had not been drinking before the accident, but instead imbibed alcohol after he hit the policeman with his car.
Senator Samak Chaowapanant, who is the lawyer of the Yoovidhya family, said Mr Vorayuth did not drink any alcohol in his residence on Sukhumvit Soi 53 in the early morning on Monday before he was involved in the crash on Sukhumvit Soi 47.
"Boss was very sad," the senator said, referring to Mr Vorayuth by his nickname. "I understand that after the crash and his surrender, Boss drank that night to relieve his tenseness ... but he did not drink before the incident happened."
Senator Samak said Mr Vorayuth drove home without stopping to check the body of Pol Snr Sgt Maj Wichian because he was shocked and afraid."
"Mr Vorayuth's lawyer said his client had not been drinking before the accident, but instead imbibed alcohol after he hit the policeman with his car."
That's EXACTLY what my lawyer in Thailand advised me in case of an accident: flee the scene, because when you are arrested you can claim that, because of the shock you were in, you drank alcohol after the accident. Brilliant, yet completely incredible.

The capacity of canals in western Bangkok was found to be three times higher than last year. The test goal of 7 cubic metres per second of flow was surpassed, with capacity reaching as high as 20 cubic metres per second.
As a result, the committee will be able to increase drainage in the canals from 12 to 13 cubic metres per second in the event of
Please someone explain this to me?
We aimed for 7, got 20 so, 20 minus 7 makes 13?
I guess it's an example of poor English and guess they mean:
"As a result, the committee will be able to increase drainage in the canals by (with) 12 to 13 cubic metres per second in the event of..."

Second day of vacation, 3.40am, a skin full of booze and a big bike, what a lethal combination.
Call it modern day Russian (certainly not typically French) roulette - the adrenaline boost is the incentive.

I know Thais under 20 require their parents consent to get a passport.
The age is 15 not 20.
No problem for her to travel with you at the age of 19.
The age still seems to be 20:

This confirms what we already knew: most rich people - in particular the excessively rich - keep getting richer, while the poor continue to struggle to make ends meet. Yellow, green or red, no Thai government really has the power - or is even willing - to address the issue of the unsustainably wide income gap.
Think about it... If an increase of the lowest wages would be fully absorbed by the 1% richest people, such a pay rise would not cause ANY inflation. At the same time, consumption - and GDP - would immediately increase, because those with the lowest wages will still have little if any saving power, even if their wages would rise substantially.
Unfortunately, it is unthinkable that the richest will voluntarily give up even a small slice of the excessive wealth they earned and keep earning on the back of others.
Funny you mention the "colors" as the usual diatribe from the pro-elitists posters slag the usual colors. Looking at the list, there are more "yellows" than "reds" - period.
The list likely consists for > 90% of Yellow shirts - or neck ties. What I mean is that, regardless of the colour of the government / regime Thailand is under, nothing will change, simply because those in power invariably lack the will - and power - to tackle this outrageous wealth gap.

Why do they let these scumbags out after only a short time. She didnt care about the problems her actions would inflict on others so she should still be rotting there now!!!
Obviously you have never heard of the principle of proportionality. Yes, she committed a very serious crime, but it may well have been her first and she was in her twenties. You would not allow a human being a second chance in life? Says a lot about you. Hope you don't have kids, or even pets. And make sure never to make any mistake!

The suspects, when caught, should be invited (or forced?) to re-enact their offence.

No more tea, coffee, tobacco products, alcoholic beverages, etc. either.
Guess the big shots will need to look for other sources to finance their election campaigns.

That's impossible. Yingluck "promised" there would be no flooding this year.
Thats right and an article came out about 5 days ago that they were preparing for a severe drought this year. I am totally confused which one can we expect. Coats on coats off, ah bugger it, I will take my chances if my right knee plays up then it will be flooding.
The weather is patchy. We have had about 25 cm a day for 2 1/2 weeks. T'other side of the peninsula, they are have to water their rubber trees.
Love how people can exaggerate to the extent they make themselves ridiculous. "25 cm a day for 2 1/2 weeks" LOL. Extremely rarely does any place in Thailand receive 250mm within 24 hours, let alone for 2 1/2 weeks. But you got your name out, perhaps that's what it was all about.
As for the drought: Nakhon Ratchasima is suffering severe drought. But that is unlikely to have much impact on the situation in BKK.
