  1. 'This development has spurred considerable concern, particularly among retirees who have enjoyed years of tax-free income.' There's a CONSIDERABLE difference, between tax-free - and THAI-TAX-FREE! So ... do the Thai authorities 'plan' to agree double-taxation agreements, with the requisite countries? Or do they 'hope' - in TYPICAL Thai fashion - that the expats won't notice?
  2. In Bangkok ... DEFINITELY! In Chonburi, where we're now living ... I really don't KNOW! If you've a mind to cook them, then you'll find what you want, in Villa Market.
  3. Or you can buy and cook your OWN! Big C/Lotus are possibilities. Villa is a DEFINITE!

  5. There most often IS another side! Perhaps Thai would care to give ITS version!
  6. The clue is in your use of the adjective 'wiser' ... it implies wisdom came into the equation, in the FIRST place! Something that most certainly was NOT involved!
  7. Oh, they aren't brainless. They just need to remember to stand up, from time to time ... in order to let the air circulate.
  8. 'Locals, with their presumed stronger resistance to regional ailments, will be exempt.' TiT! Truly ruddy TiT!
  9. It's actually in the third line. But I think you missed the irony.
  10. Foreign nationals CAN own shares ... they just can't own the majority in a company!
  11. He - or IT - isn't worth your time responding. It'll go away ... eventually.
  12. Don't give them your business. If others also refuse to give them their business, they'll learn. EVENTUALLY ... as vendors aren't GENERALLY noted for their ability to catch-on very quickly!
  13. I'm pretty sure I was on Amlodipine. I don't recall having an issue with it. But I'm now on Norvasc.
  14. Try an international hospital ... I'm pretty sure there's a Bangkok Hospital, in Chonburi. Alternatively, a major shopping mall will quite likely have an optician/opthalmologist, with a sufficient grasp of English to help you.
