    Thank goodness.

My neighbour drops dog bits outside my house and teaches his dogs to shit there.

He doesn't even bother cleaning it up.

I have talked to many thai, when they have any complaint about something, someone with a dog will start shiting outside the house.

    It's disgusting. Disrespectful and nasty.

Put those shit dog owners in their own dogshit house.

Got a tip for you, sprinkle a heap of Keens mustard powder or the like out the front of your house.
Dogs always have to sniff before they shit, a snozz full of curry powder and that will fix it.

We're talking about e-cigs, not analog tobacco cigs.

E-cigs don't produce "smoke" but facile, rabid anti-smokers go nuts if they see anything smoke-like emanating from a person's mouth.   Embracing a less harmful product isn't a bad thing either.  The push back from anti-smoking zealots is somewhat counter-intuitive IMV.

Thailand is upside down on this one.

And what makes me laugh more about those rabid anti smokers is they are living in one of the most heavily polluted cities on the planet with all sorts of 'nasties' floating around in the air 24/7, plus all the below par food that is doing even more damage to your health. <deleted> me' then they complain about an E ciggie.......

It is extremely dangerous when the President of the United States starts spreading mis-information.   There is a lot at stake, not to mention the credibility.    What if he decides to say something like N. Korea or Iran launched a bomb (instead of a missile test)?    What if he watches a movie and decides it's true?

I have no idea how the diplomats and embassies are going to deal with this nut case.

'It is extremely dangerous when the President of the United States starts spreading mis-information.'
Are you for real Credo, what US President has not spread mis information. Boy Bush and his band of war mongering sicko's weren't bad at it were they.

The technology-based company I work for has subsidiaries in Thailand and Laos - we're tripling the size of our Lao office and reducing staff in our Thailand office.  Our Lao employees are more productive.

Exactly the same for us......more productive, better English skills, better work ethic, little or no absenteeism and on and on.
After being in Laos for some time now, they are are a very laid back mellow race of people, which unfortunately the vast majority of Thais interpret as stupid.................far from it and in fact it is the other way around.

  5. Unfortunately in this consumer driven society a large majority of Thais simply can't afford those 'must have' items.
Hence it is ingrained into the psyche of of your average Thai to buy fake goods and has been for a decade.
On top that you have the vast wealth that is accumulated from the sale if such goods and we all know that 'those at the top' are not going to miss out as well.

And I remember the uproar when the Gaga quote went public..........the backlash was hilarious and how could she say such a thing!

  6. the labor laws here are unrealistic as well.

How can you expect to have a reliable work force when the Gov tells them it's OK to have 30 sick days per year.

Who the hell is sick 30 days a year?

Strange but true and we have had employees who plan their whole year to make sure they take everyone of those sick days.

You could read it like a Mills and Boon as to what Monday they would not be in the office.

  7. Thammasat University sociology lecturer:

'While praising Yingluck for her "smart" fashion sense and photogenic quality - he predicted that by year's end the PM would be named one of the best-dressed female leaders in the world'

The man is a clown. Doesn't exactly impress one with the quality of some faculty members working at Thammasat these days does it?

I think Teerayut was making a joke.

A slight touch of sarcasm maybe?

  8. If they want to help ease traffic matters they should reduce the number of taxis. There are an extimated 70,000 taxis in a city that only requires about half that number. Another thing would be for the taxi driver to accept all fares who flag them. I am fed up with the crap of taxi drivers telling me they do not or will not go where I want to go. Failure to accept a fare should result in hack licenxse revocation. Now, why won't this ever happen? The taxi mafia.

Let them go blow smoke up someone else's ass.

The missus reckons the reason behind this is, that there is a change over time and if they can't make it back in time, they miss their "knock off'", hence the refusal. I don't get pissed off anymore and just ask the next bloke 10 meters behind.

Also reckon they should run an odds and evens number plate thingy, odds one day, evens the next and a free for all on Sunday.

  9. Have experianced this many times in thailand,so now I sit in the car and let the wife book in first then I come in with the bags after.

Yep, like my missus says anywhere we go and a rip off is imminent due to skin colour.

"you stay in the car and don't move"

  10. This whole struggle is about the US trying to prop up its debt ridden economy by convincing the world that they still need to use the US dollar. Once the world starts to think otherwise then all that printing by fiat becomes even more worthless. One of the main reasons why the Iranians are considered a threat is because of their willingness to trade oil for gold or some other form of currency. This is one of the principle reasons why Iraq was attacked (Saddam decided to trade Iraqi oil for Euros), Libya (Gaddafi was proposing to trade his oil for Gold). It is almost pointless reading the Western media these days, they just seem to be a propaganda arm for Western policy. If we want a more peaceful world then we need to have a balance of power, not a world where the US is the dominant power trying to tell everyone what to do. The Iranians will never use a nuclear weapon as it would mean total obliteration for them, a nuclear weapon would also act as a deter-ant against US and Israeli aggression-- after all Iran has not started a war in 400 years, how many have the US started?

This is simply perfect and time the world woke up to the U.S. invasion of all things decent and worthy on our planet, it's been going on for too long.

Hope to see the fall of the evil empire in my life time and crap to all those that say it will be the end of our financial sytems and so forth, more scare tactics!

  11. While the standards in most state schools have been declining, students from top private and international schools here often win international awards for their excellence in maths and science.

I think the author meant "... (Thai-) Chinese students from top private ..."

There ain't too many real Thais winning any international awards for excellence in anything at all.

We all all Thais from various background and origins.

Farangs, please do not force your racist concept onto us Thais.

And Thai aren'r racist, especially the Thai-Chinese!!!!!!!
