I am a British citizen happily retired and living in Thailand, I receive the bulk of my pension from Norway (about 20% from UK) and am curious as to why the Norwegian Kroner is so weak and has been continuously weakening for a very long time. When I first moved to Thailand in 2004 I received approximately 6.4 THB for 1 NOK however now it is approx 3.1 and over the years we have lost millions because of this. Fortunately I can stop or reduce my main Norwegian State pension for another 5 years to get it higher and this helps some what. My understanding is that Norway is one of the richest countries in the world with vast oil and gas resources and is debt free. Compared to some other Scandinavian countries the Danish Kroner is considerably stronger than the NOK and gives just over 5 THB for 1 DKK and Sweden is also stronger than the NOK giving approx 3.2 THB for 1 SEK. I am just amazed as to how the NOK is so weak. Many thanks in advance for any enlightenment.

Amazing Thailand just wasted a lot of time trying to pay for a monthly subscription of a whopping 25 USD per month as a PayPal Guest using my Bangkok Bank Credit Card however the transaction failed each time. Tried again with my Eurocard Mastercard linked to my address here in Thailand and it functioned perfectly. Do any members know why the Bangkok Bank Credit Card can not be used for such purposes? Many thanks in advance for any help.

On the 20th September I had my 2nd Thai Elite 5 Year PE Visa affixed in my new renewed UK passport at Chang Wattana and evreything went very well. My appointment was at 9am and I arrived at 8am and there was a very long queue however I fortunately did not need to queue. I was met by a very pretty nice Thai Elite girl who processed evreything perfectly and after 30 minutes I received my passport back with the new visa sticker. I needed to provide Thai Elite with my old passport, my new passport, my TM30 screenshot linked to my new passport from the old TM30 System and also my TM30 linked to my new passport in the new TM30 system and thankfully I had both screenshots with me. My first 5 Year Thai Elite Visa was affixed in my old passport at Suvarnabhumi Airport. Good luck to all other Members who have Thai Elite Visa's.

Thank you for asking this. The sole reason for me doing this is because it helps me financially and is actually in my opinion very easy to do and it is also legal. I only have to print out my bank statements and use a yellow marker pen to mark the International Transfers and then summarise all lf this in a list to be included in my Thai Tax Return. When this is done I get the Thai Tax Office to help me fill out the Tax Return and help me to apply for a Thai Income Tax Paid Certificate and a Certificate of Residence all free. When I receive the above documents I send them to my Norwegian Tax Lawyer Office in Thailand and they update my Norwegian Tax Return and send the above documents together with a letter they have drafted to the Tax Authorities in Norway. The Norwegian Tax Lawyer Office in Thailand can do all of the above to facilitate this however I choose to do as much as possible myself to save money and I only have to pay 5000THB (special agreement and I have used them for many years). Of course before anybody considers doing the above one must check the potenial benefits and base the decision on this. In my situation it has saved me a lot of money over the years and it is legal.

I am a British Citizen retired married to a Thai and staying in Thailand on a Thai Elite 5 Year PE Visa and this suits my needs very well. I receive pensions from the UK that are lower than the UK Tax Free threshold and these are paid into my bank in Norway as I worked there for 32 years. I receive Norwegian State pension and private pensions in Norway and these are taxable in Norway and also paid into my bank in Norway. I send money from my bank account in Norway to Thailand when needed. I am tax resident in Norway even though I do not have property there (my daughters have property and the tax office states that I can stay there) and I am also tax resident in Thailand because I stay here most of the year. The Double Taxation Agreement between Thailand and Norway helps my situation significantly as all money sent to Thailand from Norway in a tax year can be used to offset the tax I paid in Norway and I normally get all tax paid in Norway paid back in full and evreything is legal. As I am over 65 I am also eligible to an extra 190 000 THB deduction on my pension income in Thailand and the actual tax paid in Thailand depending on how much I transfer in a tax year has varied to date between 8000 and 25000 THB which I believe is very reasonable. I always use a Norwegian Tax Lawyer Company in Thailand to write a letter to the Norwegian Tax Office for this and they also update my Norwegian Tax Return, I do the rest myself including Thai Tax Return, Thai Certificate of Income Tax Paid and Thai Tax Office Certificate of Residence. I am posting this in case this may help others in a similar situation to myself.

Well I sincerely hope all other members have better success than my wife had this afternoon. First the positive successfully registered with the new system and up and running. After this my wife successfully entered our address and this was accepted by the system before logging out, however after logging out and logging in again the address that was in the system has mysteriously dissappeared. So frustrating.

I forgot to mention when I recently went to my local immigration office to get my last entry stamp from 2019 (Suvarnabhumi Airport) and my latest Visa Extension (done at my local Immigration office) in my old cancelled passport into my new passport they said sorry we cannot do this as Thai Elite have to do this. However fortunately after my calling Thai Elite and the staff explaining to my local Immigration office they did transfer the stamps without any problems. My new online TM30 is linked to my new passport on the day I received it and also my latest 90 day report (done at my local immigration office), my TM6 is linked to my old passport.

I stay in Thailand on Thai Elite 5 Year PE Visa's and this serves my needs very well. Later this month I will be going to Chang Wattana Immigration together with Thai Elite personnel to get my 2nd Thai Elite 5 Year PE Visa affixed in my recently renewed UK Passport. My first Thai Elite 5 Year PE Visa was affixed in my old now cancelled UK passport at Suvarnabhumi Airport. If there are any members here who have had there Thai Elite Visa's affixed in there renewed passports could you kindly share your experiences here as to how it went and what documents you had to provide. I have been requested to provide: 1. Both passport (old & new) 2. TM.6 (The departure card) 3. The receipt for Notification of Residence (TM. 30) 4. The receipt of notification of 90-days reporting 5. The arrival stamp in new passport once he moved it at the immigration Many thanks in advance.

The last time I used the online TM30 Application (registered in my wife name and at our home address in Udonthani) was in in 2019 when I arrived back in Thailand at Suvarnabhumi Airport. I have been informed that as I will be getting my new renewed Passport on 15th August that I will need to do a new online TM30 that links to my new renewed Passport. I have some questions related to the required information in the TM30 Application and hope that some members can provide correct information: Check-out Date (see screenshot attached).........What date should I use? TM6 No. (see screenshot attached)............ I only have my old TM6 from 2019 which refers to my old Passport; do I use this one or can I leave this blank? Date of Arrival (see screenshot attached)..........What date should I use? Port of Entry (see screenshot attached)........... This is all in Thai and the first entry is Immigration at Suvarnabhumi Airport where I last arrived in 2019 should I use this? Relation (see screenshot attached).........As the TM30 Application is registered in my wifes name should she write my Husband in Thai here? Many thanks in advance for any help.

I stay in Thailand on a Thai Elite 5 Year Visa and this type of Visa serves my needs perfectly. I have recently renewed my British Passport and this will be collected at VFS in Bangkok on the 15th August and I am planning to get my latest Visa Extension Stamp in my old Passport transfered to my New Passport on the 29th August at Udonthani Immigration. On the 20th September I have booked an appointment at Chang Wattana through Thai Elite to get my new Thai Elite 5 Year Visa put in my New Passport as my local Immigration Office is unable to do this. My next 90 Day Report is due 16 September and my question is when you get a New Passport does the 90 Day Report from the old Passport also follow the New Passport; or will I get a new 90 Day Report when I get my latest Visa Extension Stamp in my old Passport transfered to my New Passport on the 29th August at Udonthani Immigration. Many thanks in advance for any help.

I have very recently applied to renew my UK Passport through the VFS Office in Bangkok and the renewal process at the VFS Office functioned perfectly. As we live in Udonthani I had origonally intended to use a Visa Agent to avoid travelling to Bangkok but I changed my mind at the last minute. I have heard conflicting reports that a Certified Letter from the British Embassy is required by Thai Immigration for the transfer of stamps from the old Passport to the new Passport so to be on the safe side I contacted the British Embassy about this. The British Embassy have confirmed that since 25.05.2023 this is no longer a requirement. I have attached an Information Note last updated 01 June 2023 from the British Embassy confirming that Thai Immigration are able to transfer stamps from the old Passport to the new Passport without a Certified Letter. The Information Note is in both English and Thai language. I am posting this to help other UK Passport holders who may be interested in this. Information_Note_Visa_transfer_to_new_passport.pdf

vibration replied to Pouatchee's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I am now planning to get my UK passport renewed after my last extension on 20 June at Udonthani Immigration has been stamped in my passport. Just wondering do you know if the UK Passport Office puts a stamp in the new passport like as mentioned here that some other countries do? Many thanks in advance for any help. -
For private reasons I joined Thai Elite in 2019 and got a 5 year PE Visa which I paid 500 000 THB for and it has served me very well with my needs so far. If any Thai Elite Members joined initially for 5 years same as I did and are considering extending there membership then please consider reading further. Since I applied the price for the 5 year membership for my type of membership has increased to 600 000 THB. On the 21st March 2023 I applied for a 15 year Thai Elite Membership extension which cost me 500 000 THB with timeline details listed below: 21 March applied for 15 year membership extension 8 May my application was approved by Thai Immigration 9 May paid 500 000 THB 10 May Thai Elite 15 Year Superiority Extension Membership Letter received I also got a free 6 months Thai Elite membership extension due to Covid so now my membership in Thai Elite is valid until end 2039.

I am a British Citizen retired and living in Udonthani, Thailand and my UK passport expires in June 2024. To avoid having to go to Bangkok for renewal of my passport I am considering using Key Visa Thailand Company next month after my 1 year extension to expedite the renewal for a fee of 5000 THB not including the UK passport renewal costs. I was wondering if any Members have any recent experience of using this Company for UK passport renewal. Many thanks in advance for any help.
