i All,
I just returned from a visa run to Lao (Thai Embassy) They are refusing tourist visas to a lot of people I saw at least 3 people refused whilst i was in the line, it seems the reason is even after one tourist visa they will not issue another for six months. I spoke to the consul in the embassy and he confirmed it is now a new policy. only NON 0 are allowed back to back. they will no longer issue tourist visas back to back. also at the border in Nong Kai they are asking to see the 20,000 B per person and a ticket out of Thailand and are insisting on hotel reservation. I have a friend in the immigration division at Nong Khai, he said they have been order to tighten up because there are too many people using tourist visas to work illegally.
Bad news for a lot of people I would guess.

Hi
This will be required for the work permit, (Dept of Employment) please note: most prospective employers do not know about this form so when applying show them the form I sent attached, you may print and complete the form and use it in your application. The visa is immigration issue.

I feel That Sunbelt has be very iresponsible for the original post, and not at all professional, as for a large international Lawyer company it is a ricoulous post, and is not really verified. If Sunbelt behave like this I for one would never use them. There is no mention on the department of employment website about this change.

Guys,
I would like to thank you all so much for your reply's, I can say this hasnt been easy especially when my parents and brother passed on and I could not leave the country,. Unfortunately at this late stage it will be hard to find the money to leave. Just a couple of notes below
1. Never had a problem renewing the passport (only Paying for it) seems the embassy don't really care
2. A Bit worried about all these sleeping dogs (They may just wake up one day)
Thanks for all the advice you have given, I see from some people they are insulted by my being here to them all I say is sorry if that's how you feel.
Again Thanks

Good day to you all,
I hope somebody here can answer my questions I have overstayed my Visa in Thailand for about 25 years I originally came here for work a long time ago from the UK, I have always kept my passport current and valid but after a few years stopped renewing the the visa, I really have nothing in the UK to go back for mum and dad passed on and no living family. I am here and have Thai Kids and wife whom I have been with for many years now a Girl who is now 22yrs and a son of 19 yrs. I seem to have been accepted in the community where I live, I have had no legal problem here in Thailand, accept for a car accident a few years back and was cleared up with the person involved with the help of the local police. I would now at my late age like to get legal for peace of mind. some info below.
1. Time in Thailand 6 years with visa and work permit
2. Time without visa 25 yrs
In the last 25 years nobody has ever asked to see my passport or visa, but as I said I want to get legal. What would happen to me if I showed up at immigration/or Airport with the 20 K fine and a plane ticket to a nearby country would I be able to come back ? will I got jail ?
Thank you all in advance
