  1. First thing that is absolutely wrong is the airport ain't in Bangkok. Why are you guys keep saying that it is in Bangkok?

1.Are you crazed? The baggage-handlers aren't proficient in simple English. They are no way to improve this cos they are in a low paid job with little skill. If you want more than this, please organized your own bags.

2.Most of the foods at the airport are expensive. Some countries can be more expensive cos' they are paying huge amount for the rent. If you feel so, ain't buy any foods then. Bring your own. Malay, Singapore, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide , Jakarta and Hong Kong are more or less the same.

3.Taxis in Thailand are notorious for overcharging. It ain't just in the airport. I agree to clean up this issue. The tip for getting a cheap taxi is to get 'em from the departure zone.

    4. Mafia at the parking lots. It's true cos some top range military persons are involved. They are now in the court with Thai legal system but this is rather complicated as there are some connections with the politicians.

    5. Officials at the airport - They are OK. If you present yourself to be good, they will reciprocate this. Long queue - They have to manage the staff for flexible hours on duty. Relaxed and let it be. If you see how they do it on the border between Cambodia and Thai, Poipet. You will say this is good enough though.

    6. It's huge then you need to do a bit of exercise then. Good for your health.

Overall ain't too bad. If you don't like it , you will need a different destination then.

  2. Do you know elephant trainers in Thailand are mostly lack of safety skill? The one in Ayuttaya are well-known for the best elephant camp in Thailand. The owner of this camp has revealed when there was a case in Pattaya. A Thai lady tourist was seriously injured while feeding an elephant and the trainer also was there beside his elephant but nothing much he could do to save her. So, you guys be more careful sticking around with elephants. She was not killed but hospitalized. Eventually, she said her point of view for these giant animals has been changed. Mentally, she scares when seeing them around. Please do not support those who have made Elephants into slavery businesses for the sake of your own safety and the thriving of the animal. Being abused and forced to work in a hot day physically and mentally ill, they could turn into deadly weapons in any moment without notice. There were many cases in northern part. Elephants were injured working in a woods near the Myanmar frontier trapped on landmines while transporting timbers. Some couldn't escape from dead and some have to leave after amputations. If anyone would like to see some of 'em, please visit Lampang Elephant camp, a non-profit organization. Moreover, the owner of an Elephant camp in Ayuttaya said they are much more happier to be in tourist industry than in logging industry. He talked several things about the working conditions and the different for the income that can cover the foods, the trainers pocket money and shortening the working hours though.

  4. According to the Thanchart website, The Thai Bankers Association has decided that cardholders of foreign banks will be charged 150 Baht for each withdrawal by debit or credit card, effective April 17th.

    Not good news.

i bank with Thanachart and have read their website, cant see this anywhere ,give us a clue?

Thai banks are notorious for heavy charge not only to foreigners but also the local. They are the most cunning people in the world of how to take your funds from your purse. This ain't a good news. I know if you like in a different province and when you cash from a machine from a different branch with the same bank you will be charge 20 B at front. Try to avoid using those ATM then. I heard AEON's ATMs don't charge using foreign cards but myself ain't tried yet. In addition, They came up with a very poor exchange rate. The current exchange rate was 30.40 B/1 dollar but when I saw the statement they used 34 B more/1 dollar. Amazing Thai Banks they have done very good job to deter Farangs coming to the country. Hahaha... They don't have to scam you but they do it in the legal way to make you a fool.. wow...
