Looking for a fitness gym near Hang Dong Road area - Near Big C south of the city. Doesnt have to be fancy or anything. I asked the woman at my local muay thai gym how much she would charge for letting me use the weights 3-4 times a week, to which she replied 1k per week. lol?

She said she could go down to 500 per week but I still think thats very expensive since they dont even have a proper bench press.

Any ideas?

Went to Gekko Garden last night. It's a nice place to have a meal. Not too expensive either.

Had the fish and chips for 120 baht. Obv nothing like fish and chips back in the UK but still nice. Tartar sauce was a little thin due to be it being outta a bottle tho. Still a nice place to have a meal. Beer isnt too expensive either.

Where are all these restaurants located? Cant find Meechok Plaza on google maps.

Why is pizza so expensive all over Thailand?

I like both the american style pizza like The Pizza Company and the italian style(thinner crust).

My very favorite pizza is the italian style with thin crust and then tomato sauce and mozarella. After the pizza is done, you quickly put chorizo salami, rocket salad on top. Sprinkle some shaved parmesan cheese on top and finish with green pesto dressing.

The spicy combination of chorizo, rocket salad complimented by the parmesan and pesto, makes this the ultimate pizza in my book

Hello good people of Chiang Mai. I'm a 32 year old single professional looking to spend some months in Chiang Mai.

Ive done some searches and read up and bookmarked some sites. Some of the threads I found were a little old, so I hope you would forgive yet another question about cheap apartment rentals.

Im looking for a studio apartment for MAX 10k baht per month. Preferably 3-7k.

The number one priority is that the internet is stable. It doesn't have to be wireless. I will be working from the apartment so if there's a desk, then that's also a plus.

Good location would be nice if possible. I've heard that the Nimmanheimin area is supposed to be nice. Is it possible for me to get something in my price range?

I'd like to live in an area with many westerners. Currently I'm staying at a guesthouse near Tha Pae Gate on the east side of the old city.

If some of you could share your experiences then I would be very grateful. Maybe some of you already live in a building that fulfil my criteria.

I'm going to be in bangkok on the evening of the 15th feb and an thinking about going to Vientiane to get a tourist visa, and then later returning to Chiang Mai. Friends flight is 02.30 am morning of the 16th and I want to see her off at the airport.

There's like two flights I can take in the morning. 7am to Udon Thani and like 9.30 am to Vientiane. However I'd have to basically sleep at the airport.

Is there any bus or train that leaves after midnight from BKK to Udon Thani so I dont have to wait till the morning? I cant seem to find any schedule for that destination.

Basically, I need to get to Vientiane from BKK, but the time of departure is like around midnight so that prolly sucks for me and then after an overnight stay in Vientiane go to Chang Mai. I'd rather not spend a shitload on plane tickets, but 200 usd from bkk to vientiane at 9.30am in the morning might be worth it if I just find a cheap hotel near the airport?

No need to worry about playing online poker. I know plenty of poker players who live in Thailand and also play poker online at the same time. It's not really an issue. I am aware that gambling is illegal here. Gambling in the form of home games is actually also illegal in Denmark, if you announce it in a public forum. It still happens tho.

Hello all,

Hoping to become a part of a expat community here in Chiang Mai, Thailand. I've been travelling around Thailand for the past 3 months and my visa will run out on the 17th feb. I had a 2 months tourist visa with an extension.

I'd like to stay in Thailand for like 3-6 months, possibly more. My flight goes back home from Bangkok on the morning of the 16th.

What are my options? I am 32 years old poker player so I can easily live here and work from here.

I am currently in Chiang Mai and heard that I could take a bus to Ventiane and stay there for a night while getting a visa at the Thai Embassy. What I'm confused about is what kinda visa I should apply for. There seem to be several different types and I'd of course like to get one with the least amount of travelling over the border.

If there's any information that I need to post, please let me know. P.S. Im a UK citizen with residence in Denmark.
