I had both eyes (cataract surgery)done in a eye clinic up here in Sakon Nakhon. One in 2020 and the other 4 months ago. I too have astigmatism , dry eye and was given Toric lenses , 70k & 60k, entire procedure with meds and follow ups. In 2008 in the states,I had Lasik $8k done on both eyes which resulted in seeing better for distance while still needing readers . Because I had Lasik ,I was told the cataract procedure with Toric would only result in 80 -90% improvement. I thought at the time to give it a try , the blur and halos improved considerably . I also could see faces much better from a distance, another words I was happy with the procedure.So I did the other. I still have to wear readers(no script )but the detail, no blurs and minimal halos have given me new eyes.

@IAMHERE I looked at the thread and I didn’t see any mention of using a travel notice! Out of curiosity have you used the travel notice?(I use it every year). You also mentioned you have been with them for 27 years. How many years in Thailand ? I have a checking and brokerage account with them ( since 2019)while using a USA address. I never use them for wire transfers ! I use other banks for that. I strictly use them 2x monthly for the atm. Side notes,back in 2016 my Merrill edge account was canceled on me because I made a transaction (trade) from out of the country even though I asked the agent if it was ok. You might want to ask Schwab if you can actively make trades while visiting a different country ,just for peace of mind. I use a Thai address for the IRS . SS has my USA address ,while depositsgo to a usa bank. I have a usa phone# on file with my usa banks. Sad to hear they discovered this especially . 25k in a Schwab account just to be able to use there services is a stretch but doable I suppose.

This is the huge issue in the entire scandal. In Sakon Nakon Thai post office I used EMS World Thailand , 1650.00 bht . Suppose to be 10 days to the states. Contents consisted of 10 pages of documents and the bubble protection envelope they provided. I asked the Mrs if they had other EMS services , she said no!

I’m up here in Sakon Nakhon , I checked google for fedex branches and unfortunately there aren’t any.

I recently received mail from the IRS Submission Processing Center in Kansas City,Mo , requesting signatures on our 2021 1040 SR Tax filing. Apparently the Irs is claiming my paper return doesn’t show a “valid original signatures”. Just so you know during the filing season my accountant tried to use efile which was always successful in prior years but not this particular season! So at the time he suggested filing a paper copy using Docu sign signatures. The Irs supposedly is trying to make us use their PIN number process each year but I never received any numbers in the mail. I contacted my accountant in the states and he suggested following the directions on the form( 3531) and sign the 1040 again and send it to the return usa address on the envelope(above )I received ,using a tracking mail service. That being said ,What is the best and secure way ? Money isnt a issue ! Peace of mind knowing it gets there is pinnacle.Any suggestions of Thai Post tracking to use? I need to send this asap Thanks
