  1. I was in Phuket at start of the year for 2 months looking at property...this one we looked at was going for something like 10.5 Million baht...anyways, we left came back home but I stayed in touch with the estate agent..

Last week I got an email from her saying that a hot deal was available on the project...

    "

Please be informed that yesterday the developer called me and told me that

Plot No. 5 which was originally bought by her friend is for sale now.

The developer's friend thought that she would like to buy it for investment

but later she has financial problem so she has to release it urgently.

So the price is very cheap now. The house is almost completed and you can

    move in soon.

The original price is 7,200,000 THB. She wants to sell for 6,000,000 THB

(84,550 GBP) now. (please see the attached price list and size of the plot)"

  2. Well, not a surprise. Name one thing that is not payable in Thailand...Anyways, Sukhumvit got a little bit of an arab neighbourhood already. It gives me the crips when I see their females walking around dressed as ninjas, it's not racist, it's just esthethical, personally, I don't like them.

Same same...when in MBK we were wandering around and this M.E couple walked past us...the man was wearing a pair of shorts, t-shirts, sunglasses and pair of trainers...his wife trussed up head to foot :o

  3. Im in a wheelchair, spent 2 months earlier this year on Phuket...(visited Krabi for 7 nights and spent 3 nights in Bangkok)....

On the whole I didnt find Phuket any more difficult than back in the UK...going to the main shopping centres like Tesco and Central was easy and just like shopping centres back home, the difficulty came if you wished to wander the streets of Patong, Kamala, Karon etc etc (same same back home)...but for me it wasnt something I even wanted to do, apart from nights out on Bangla which were easy enough. Transport was an issue...tuktuks, bikes etc were not an option, but we rented a car and thus we were ok. I found many places had a ramp (even if a bit steep at times). Visited several smaller bars, restaurants etc down by Rawai, Nai Harn and had no problem with parking and finding nice places on the flat....certainly the quieter the area the easier it was, and more pleasent...you could certainly ignore the likes of Patong etc and live a nice life on the east side of Phuket if you didnt want the hustle and nightlife yet still have many nice places to go. Lots of Nightlife is something I want however.

I did meet two older guys (50s) in Kata who used electric wheelchairs..they were on their own and had a blast buzzing around from Karon, Kata...dont think id be confident enough to go on the roads for major distance tho (they even took their chairs from Kata to Patong and back to avoid any pavement problems).

Like everywhere I go, once Ive spent some time there I find out the places suitable and not suitable and then then just fit my routine around them...get to know some people and find out the lay of the land so to speak.

Im planning on moving over to Thailand within a few months, going to spend a month in and around Pattaya/Jomtien etc to see what thats like too spoken too several people in wheelchairs living/visiting there with various medical conditions, all have similar comments/issues about living there but in general everyone seems to get on ok...

No idea what Maui is like, but for me Thailand was not much worse or better than my trips around UK, Ireland and Spain.

  4. Massive thanks man! Its not for my driving eye point but ease of getting in and out, as I use a wheelchair and need assistance, the higher things are the harder it is for someone to help me, although I can stand with support Im not that tall so need a boost up!...While obviously a car is more helpful in this regard for wheelchair space in the boot the Fortuner looks ideal...

(Im still in UK atm and dont have the opertunity to go try one out)

    Thanks again tho man.

  5. Really?

Yep. really. feels like you're using Michelin Condom with extra numb cream

As a bonus then you can last a lot longer :D

Wouldnt worry about what other boys have either...hopefully your son wont be in situations of numerous naked men comparing schlongs. :o

  6. I voted light skin, before seeing the picture...I thought you meant naturally light...which I do prefer to dark...the makeup girls apply to lighten their skin just makes them look awful..

Cant make a proper comparison when one photo is natural other is a bad make up job.

Also, i dont think its just the skin shade, but also the features that go with it...My fave is a euro-asian mix.

  7. Talking to the maid at my hotel in Phuket she was getting 200baht a day for 8am-5pm, 1 hour off at lunch, 7 days a week. no holidays. Must admit she said "pay no good", but she kept working there..

  8. Just to let people know its not all bad...when I went to the Phuket aquarium and waterfalls in nationalparks and other attractions of the same nature, being in a wheelchair I was never charged...always made me feel guilty then so made sure to put money into the collection box.

Also at the waterfall they let us drive the car all the way in up the path, everyone else had to leave their car/bike and walk...which was a good 500m or more.

In a similar manner at a view point on Phuket, there was a long walk up a steep road to get to it, but there was a barrier across the road to stop cars...too steep for my folks to push me so we didnt bother...anyway, just happend to pass it again one day and noticed the barrier was up and some military/police man was there...turns out some offical/vip was driving around up there...we went to drive up and we got stopped...explained the chair situation (even tho the guy didnt speak English) and he let us drive on and waited for us then closed the barrier when we left....had a number of good experiences with police/military over there, in fact most Thais...except Taxi drivers...90% of them were c*nts!

    Great people!

  9. Im considering surgery at Bumrungrad or BNH, Ive yet to see a Dr at either as Im back in the UK but the delays here are frustrating. Im interested in hearing about peoples experiences, from what Ive read/seen BNH seems to have the more advanced spine centre.

My condition is a fairly complex one I think so im curious as to if its too risky. I want to have a Pectus Carinatum (Pigeon Breast) correction (protruding sternum) and a upper spine fusion/straightening (ankylosing spondylitis has already fused my spine at the upper levels with a bad curvature and bad neck postion) ive seen a documentary on a 45 year old man getting something similar fixed at Bristol in the UK and they had to break his spine first to straighten him out before placing the screws and plates...

Must admit makes you wary incase a mistake happens and you end up paralyzed! But ive litterally lost like 6 inches in height over the past 7 years.

  10. Are Christians really good or are they doing it to impress god and secure their reward in heaven?

I know plenty of non religious people who are simply kind and good because that's how they are naturally.

Same can be applied to those building Merit, and Karma....is their only reasons for doing something good because they want something good to happen to themselves? Every single religion going uses some sort of reward/punishment system. Could it then be said that anyone who is religious is doing good deeds for personal gain alone, be it a better next life or securing a place in heaven.

  11. It seems from the deffensive explanations here people are saying that the Buddhist mindset is one of "Not my problem, lifes a bitch."....dress it up anyway you like, and say "you just dont understand", but thats it in a nutshell....im not saying Buddhism is like that or not, but the arguments put forward are really weak trying to defend the ignored suffering of a few animals. If I ever see a starving half dead Thai child on my doorstep I`ll remember what you told me...ignore it, theres loads of them out there, lifes harsh so let them deal with it.
