  1. I have been considering replacing my cow milk consumption with soy milk but have run into a lot of articles on the internet like this one listing all the dangers of soy milk like aluminum that can lead to Alzheimer's, phytic acid that prevents absorption of magnesium, calcium, zinc and iron, enzyme inhibiters preventing body's use of protein and on and on with some calling it child abuse to feed soy products to infants.

So I think we will just reduce the amount of milk we consume and switch from whole milk to low fat milk. I will offer the same to my grand kids.

Human breast milk is probably best for kids and then cow's milk up to some age but soy milk, tofu, and other soy products is off the menu from here on until I see research that might disprove the claimed dangers of soy products.

  2. Maybe it is good for children but at some age it becomes harmful, clogging up the arteries and preventing some of our organs like the liver, kidneys, etc. to function well enough to prevent heart disease, cancer, etc. I grew up with it too and still have milk with coffee and have it around for the grand kids too, but I may stop it as this topic is new for me and I am hearing more and more convincing evidence about the harms of milk & meat. Maybe the radiation from Nukes like Fukushima will get me first but I have sworn off tuna and salmon too.

  3. World population has doubled since about 1970 so there are a lot more holders of Gold now creating more demand. However, Gold like virtually all other asset classes has its on cycles that change with the many variables that drive price, so trends must be followed and investments adjusted to stay with the trend. I mostly use chart patterns and trend following using Keltner channels, 8 and 20 day simple moving averages (adjusted for 30 minute vs. daily charts, etc.) depending on how often I want to trade.

  4. Well I guess if China ever makes a serious move to take over another country then you should get together and have World War III with them, but I don't see it happening, if we just learn to get along with our neighbors, knowing that nothing & no country is perfect.

China has its own internal problems with great income disparity between the rich and poor. It has the brains and productive capacity to solve its problems over time, so they don't need to take over their neighbors & take their wealth as the Europeans did centuries ago. One must always be on guard and not too trusting, but the lines of communication should be open as China is no North Korea and trade can be beneficial to both countries with great opportunities to advance people everywhere thorough negotiation and cooperation without going to war.

  5. I see China as a country who does a lot of good in the world producing cost effective products that we all use. I haven't observed the Chinese government threatening others as the North Korean government does. U.S. may need to move some balance of forces to the Philippines and other locations from Japan due to the Japanese nuclear radiation problems and probability for even worse earthquakes. I don't think its due to any military problems with the Chinese. I don't think it would hurt for Thailand to keep open the lines of communications with the Chinese including military forces.

  6. There are insignificant terrorists' threats coming from Thailand and the killings in the south are regrettable but no more than parts of other countries so there is no basis for saying they are number one on the list. FBI should know that currently North Korea it the number one terrorist with its leader making daily nuclear bomb threats against millions of people living in South Korea, Hawaii, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Austin, Seattle, Japan, etc. Whoever in the FBI put Thailand on the top of such a list and then presented it in public should be fired, or demoted to a position of irresponsibility commensurate with his/her error rate.

  7. Forget Cyprus, no one is stealing more from savers than banksters and central banksters with the financial repression of interest rates paid to savers to replace money banks spent for excessive compensation including bonuses and quid pro quo loss trades to buddies (those whales aren't stupid), etc.

  8. I found a few explanations. Take your pick:

Infrastructure spending plan could be in jeopardy

    http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/627660-former-finance-minister-korn-questions-bt2tn-loan-bill/

Potential worst case, loss of PM stability as she may face legal action regarding passport issued to her brother and/or current unresolved discrepancy regarding a loan she she may have made to a company which doesn't seem to appear on the company's books.

Cyprus contagion. (Does Thailand keep funds or have holdings in Cyprus?)

It doesn't make sense to me that this would impact THD now.

  9. I think the students will be getting together, teaching each other, sharing their experiences and competing to see who knows best. Some will have older brothers and sisters who know how to use them and will help them. Computer knowledge will spread like wildfire and the students will be showing the teachers how its done just as they show their parents how to use cell phones, the remote control and other gadgets.
