US Government and State Attorney Generals are blaming the financial crisis on inflated S&P ratings on junk debt (CDOs, etc.) as AAA in return for each of the issuing company's/bank's business to mislead buyers of the junk debt, etc. Other rating agencies are still under investigation. now at http://live.reuters.com/Event/Politics This link will probably change as it is for the real time press conference so you may have to search for a better link later.

It appears one sure way to reduce the cancer rate in Thailand is to quit eating partially-cooked fish as previously discussed here and elsewhere. Another might be quit eating radiated food from Japan and elsewhere.

Pat Caddell, FOX News Republican Propagandist makes some good points on the lack or lackies of investigative journalism. We would all benefit by real investigative journalism but that is not the system. The business model of commercial media that accept advertising is selling behavior change in their audience to advertisers. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conflict_of_interest#Media
Now Real Estate Developer/ Republican Trump wants to buy the New York Times and muzzle it as Murdoch has done with media stations all over rural America and many larger cities to promote his political/financial agenda.
At least we have the internet to seek out the truth to set us free to find the truth, but I wish we could return to a more balanced media that the U.S. used to have prior to Murdoch's take over of Wall Street, Journal, U.S. airwaves, etc.
The FTC also abrogates its responsibility to ensure some balance in political discussion or yank the stations license to broadcast. Big media has the money needed to fund real investigative reporting & such investigative reporting before the fact might have prevented/reduced the financial crisis, but the bankers and elite don't want that.

Based on the following U.S. Department of Homeland Security warning I disabled plug and play in my router settings.

It was easy and no problems noted yet but I may have to turn it on temporarily If I change my network configuration.

Companies with integrity continue their pension plans. An example is Ford that expects to make a $5 billion cash contribution to its plan this year and earned 14.2% on on its pension plan investments in 2012.

Well, it has to start somewhere. We have "Don't mess with Texas" and the education programs and ad campaigns seem to help- less polluted than it used to be.

Robotics expands human productivity but you still need a controls electrical engineer to program the robotic functions and others humans to perform maintenance on those robots, researchers and professors to improve knowledge, etc. Robotics makes products more affordable and raises everyone's standard of living. Robotics will not reduce the need for human workers but will stimulate change and work in new areas to further improve our lives.
However, we all need income when we no longer work and one way we can all pursue our passions and careers while working, without each person becoming investment experts and constantly monitoring their investments, is to also have a pension system that frees us to be more productive. Pension plan oversight boards, independent accountants, legislators and regulators aren't doing enough to protect the funds for the intended beneficiaries.

I get better results with sub-lingual liquid Melatonin vs. the tablet form or even the dissolve under your tongue tablets.

What are you going to do when 50%+ of the elderly in poverty without pensions and/or social security? Its absolutely necessary to have pension plans as many can't save or invest, won't save, or lose their savings for a multitude of reasons and will end up on welfare, become criminals to survive, scavenge garbage dumps, etc.
Abuses have to be stopped in the US like the ridiculous growth in disability benefits that used to go to one in 51 workers who pay in and now goes to one in 13 workers, allowing government workers like Rick Perry Governor of Texas to collect a Governor's Salary and a retirement, annuity at the same time, allowing government employees to juice up their retirement with overtime, excessive salaries or other special pays in the final years of their employment used to calculate their pension benefits, etc. Improper investments for quid pro quo favors and failing to make actuarially required annual employer contributions may also enrich management with undeserved bonuses, kickbacks or continued employment will also cause a retirement fund to become underfunded. Current controls just aren't working.

Rest in Peace Doctor Ketunti.
It is reported elsewhere that Ketunuti's parents were said to be travelling to Philadelphia from Thailand. Her father is Thai and her mother is Belgian. Her family released a statement saying they were "devastated by this senseless act of violence."
"Melissa's friends from childhood, college, residency and elsewhere remember her many kindnesses, even during long hours, as well as her zest for life: traveling, running and spending time with friends and family," the statement said.
"Melissa was a source of joy to everyone in her life. Her passing has left an enormous gap in our lives."

I used one financial website application that wouldn't run for me now that I have uninstalled JAVA. Their website wanted to install the latest JAVA update to run their application, which I declined. Customer service wanted to assure me its safe since they use HTTPS. I doubt that would solve the JAVA security issue so I told them no thanks. Fortunately, they have a new application that uses Adobe Air to provide most of the same information. I hope its more secure than JAVA.

Remove/ Uninstall JAVA is the way to go as patch/update fixes nothing.

US Department of Homeland Security says latest patch does not fix JAVA.
-
Really fixing JAVA could take two years so I guess its just not safe to keep on my computer.
-
On Twitter people are saying even the new patches have security holes so I removed JAVA and will see if I can live without it as many people are saying I can do. If I have problems, I will install the latest JAVA version if I have to.

America spends way too much on wars that we really can't afford and our leaders feed us a line of optimism down the path. Oliver Stone has an interesting historical series on Showtime that documents much of what goes on behind the curtains. Here is one chapter out of about 10 in the series but more are available from the same source on YouTube.

So they ruled out pneumonia in the lung that they think might be cancer? Have you ever had the pneumonia vaccine? I have heard that it is difficult to be sure if it is cancer when observing a mass in the lung on an XRay and they might want to stick a needle in it to determine what it is but then that could deflate the lung and be a problem. The flu can lead to pneumonia. I am no Doc but I would do some research on the best antibiotics for influenza B and pneumonia and be sure you are taking one of them as that might clear up both lungs if it is not cancer.

We are on a city sewer system and don't get that. I suspect something is wrong with your plumbing. In city systems they do a smoke test and inject smoke in the main lines and look for smoke coming out where it shouldn't be to identify broken or cracked pipes. Maybe there is something like that for septic systems. During the smoke testing it is normal to see smoke coming out of the plumbing vent pipes on your roof. Maybe you have a cracked pipe or one not connected properly?
