If you are using a foreign Credit or Debit card in your TrueMoney Wallet account, you may have noticed that TrueMoney suddenly has blocked connecting foreign cards since April 24, 2024. TrueMoney Wallet phone support says today that only Thailand issued cards can be connected to the True Money Wallet account. I have used a foreign card for years without problem until recently. My best guess: A new regulation from Revenue Department or maybe Bank of Thailand to stop foreigners using international cards due to tax issues or money laundry concerns. To shop in 7-Eleven stores or delivery is getting more and more difficult. Cash only preferred, it seems, especially for foreigners. 😡 What do you think? Source: Myself 2024-04-30

22 years of data = ~300GB MySQL database, ~350GB user pics etc. Moving from Canada to Singapore. Slow internet due to underwater cable issues. Professional people doing this migration, don't worry. No, unfortunately part of database can't be moved as forum software is very special, impossible to set to read-only, and we can't risk losing any data. A necessary database maintenance is also being done while migrating. This very time consuming indeed (mysql dump + transfer of db plus import of MySQL dump into new server database with 4x better prestanda. We are doing this process during low traffic (weekend). No other way to do this. After move it could be a bumpy ride for a day or so as we optimize database and fix any software issues. It's not only to "copy things over" I can assure you... -

Yes, forum will be down today/this evening as well, to do part 2 of the maintenance. It's a huge forum database that must be moved and it will take hours, and database must be offline when work is in progress. -

I use https://gemini.google.com for searches these days. It digs real-time data from Google which ChatGPT doesn't.. Try it. I'm using the paid version which is excellent.

To search for content on ASEAN NOW you can use this format keywords site:aseannow.com (without a space after site:)

Google Wallet

I doubt 7-eleven accept Google Wallet. And vendors who accept Mastercard also accept VISA cards, as it's included in their banks merchant account. -

Most vendors at markets have mobile phones and will happily take PromptPay (QR payments). -
