i was knocked off my motor bike by a driver of a pick up truck who just came out of a side lane in open view, i suffered a dislocated shoulder, dislocated fingers,cuts and bruises and the bike was a right off,when interviewed at the police station he said i saw him but i thought he was farther away, it cost me over 25,000 bht hospital bills i lost 3 weeks money from school, and he was laughing and joking with the BIB at the police station. Lucky i have krungthai bank hospital insurance, but nothing awarded for loss of earnings or compensation for pain and suffering. They don't care don't give a shit about the highway code and road rules, They are the most stupid and dangerous peoole who i have ever had the displeasure to be on the road with. Red lights mean nothing one way streets mean nothing pedestrian crossings mean nothing railway level crossings mean nothing IN FACT LIFE MEANS NOTHING TO THESE ROAD MANIACS

I thank you digichromatey for your info to my gf,she got things a little wrong,i booked a flight with air asia to malaysia and back to get a 30 day extension as i read my date wrong on my passport i had till 12th october to leave not 12th september,however when i presented my pp at the airport immigration i was stopped from leaving and taken to a little room,where i was told passport no good to full and no working ( i think they meant valid) upshot was i was taken to Si san plu detention centre and was told i could have 1 phone call to make arrangement to be free,so i went cap in hand to my son in the UK and he wired me xxxx pounds but on the condition that he had to txt the Western Union number to this Chief officers mobile,and that was it till room service called me at 7-a.m. on monday morning and 2 nice thai immigration officers escorted me to the nearest W.U. office where i was given the number and allowed to get my money. Then i was walked back to the IDC where i was shown into a little office asked would i like sme tea and something to eat,All smiles now,then we got down to business,the big chief took my passport and then came back 10 minutes later and it had a 30 day extension in it,this i the same passport that they told me 4 days earlier was no good.he said it ok now if you stopped you just show stamp.Then he told me he could lose my paperwork and no charges or record,so i told him i wanted to see it done in front of me.So then he comes back with my little file of papers and tells me ok it 100,000 baht. My words where this i now have money so for 28,000 baht i can fly back to UK calling his bluff,and it seemed to work. he then said ok but you no come back for 1 year so then i said 30,000 baht he went to 70,000 baht i went to 40,000 baht and he said 50,000 baht so i agreed.on the condition that i gave him the money when i was outside the IDC. I was then shown into the main office where my papers where shreaded and my file deleted of the system, and then i was walked very friendly to the gate we shook hands as i passed him the 50,000 baht and i was free. NOW MY COMMENTS I must apologise if i upset anyone who has a thai wife or gf to me these people are a set of thieving,cheating,back stabbing 2 faced race of people i have ever had the misfortune to live amongst,they would sell there own mother for 100 baht.My gf has told me she is ashamed to be classed as a thai,as she thinks that this is not good.i accept it as a farang but it won't change my opinion on the fact that they are a race of mother f***ers who are the most corrupt people in asia. On a lighter note i have received an e-mail from HMPO telling me that my passport is being processed an wil be issued shortly,this wil make it about 21 weeks if and when trendy call me. just an update,i was officially notified today by letter that i was being finished as of 10-10-2014, i spend 500 baht calling liverpool area team 5 yesterday all they can tell me as of 9-9-2014 it had been passed to the F I U team (further investigations team for more checks) I now have the provlem that icannot afford after this month to stay whrer i am,so my address on my passport foerm is now irrelevant. I also spoke to the main consular officer Mr Adam Bell and i have to call him again on Friday. I can at least live till end Octber but after that who kmows.Thank you to all the messages of help and advice. May buddah bless you all. !8 weeks on Thursay and counting

So i defaced my passport only because i applied on 29th may and by the MIDDLE of july it had not come back to me, so jail me.i could not be in an anymore bad way. I lose my job as i was only on 3 months rolling contract for start, now when they wanted me to have a 1 year contract i cannot get a new now b visa. So whats the bloody point of anything NO JOB NEXT MONTH MAYBE NO HOME AND ON OVERSTAY

Hi mjcm It helps i you work here s you need to show them your work permit or be married to a thai. I went in i was shown a card with all dierent kinds of cc cards on it which varied in price so i chose the 900 baht one which gives me 25000 bank hospital bill cover.of course the more you py for your atm card the higher the monitery value o the cost paid is. I hope this helps also AIA do insurnce and health insurance my late wife had one when she worked but only paid 300 baht per month so it only gve her 8,000 baht insurance Hope this helps

I have passed all the UK security checks so i cannot see what the prblem is and the non b visa covers the space that i used to have my cambodian visa on, and i will reiterate i down loaded the form to fill in and took it to Trendy it was checked and stamped ok Nothing was said about added documentation however i did werite my current address on the form,and 18 weeks is still a bloody disgrace even with any mistakes.Why it has to be passed to the overseas team is anyones guess i could just be here on an extended holiday seeing as i have to pick it back up from trendy in bangkok the proof of address is irrelevant

it also covers you in the event of heart attacks or any health problems which involve you having to spend time in hospital

well call me old fashioned but it is health cover or even health insurance you get ill you go to hospital you get your bill you pay it and you get your money back,sounds ok to me so you are covered or do you all want to scrounge and hust tell the Thai government well i live here what about giving me a little green card as well i was trying to be helpful but stevenl does not seem to like members trying to help. I had a bad motor bike accident 2 years ago and it cost me over 8000 baht so i paid it then got my money back in about 1 month,so i would call it health insurance or cover i was not out of pocket unlike some farangs who do not have accident or health insurance here.

To Jip99 My passport has not expired it is just bloody full and as i applied for a new empty one in May 2014 common sense would have said that even with 2 pages left it was enough time now it is Ocrober tomorrow and i have used up both my pages for my visa stamps and for my non b visa so now my passport is full and as for retirement pension i do not retire till May 2017 when i will be 65 I intended working and not scrounging on the government by taking early retirement as i dont hava a pp or a serps which when i was a young lad we did not have, And as for setting aside provisions for my retirement yes i did but i was selfish i used it all to pay my thai wifes medical and hospital bills and for her funeral so if that is being selfish of me then ok And for your information 3 nights in the ICU in Bangkpk/Phuket hospital was 356000 baht alone then moving to Vachira hospital 18000 baht and then her treatment every month till she died over 100000 baht. and oh i paid for her cremation.So sorry if i did not make any provisions for my future.

yes go into krunfthai bank and get a debit card mine is the blue platinum one you can choose your own levelof card the mst expensive one is about 1500 baht

get a re entry permit it costs about 1200 baht at Swampy

not being rude there was nothing on the passport form i fillrd in at trendy to ask for my name and address in Thailand,even though i i di write in on the application,and as my passport was being delivered back to trendy building giving your address seems irrelivant,and as for being rude I LOST MY JOB TODAY BECAUSE OF THIS, SO NOW I LOSE MY APARTMENT NEXT MONTH AND I DO NOT HAVE ANY INCOME APART FROM THIS MONTHS SALARY,which will not go very far. Its ok for you lot with a job or a retirement pension or a wife so you can get your non o visa,well my wife died 3 years ago and within 1 day the immigration cancelled my non o visa, I am 60 years old and i do not need this hassle or this s*it So i have to trawl round the coutntry now looking for work until my money runs out.So please don't come on here telling me i am being rude THEY ARE A BUNCH OF W**KERS OK

if you have a krungthai bank account and visa debit card you can get your hospital bill paid for you,the only problem is you have to pay the bill yourself then submit the paid bill to the bank and they thern reinburse you i pay 900 baht a year for this and it is worth it

now entering my 17th week since i put my application into Trendy building,it has passed all the uk security checks,but is now being pssed over to their overseas collegues for further checks (e mail received 9th september) dispite 5 calls to T Kanokporn consulr oficer and 1 visit to UK embassy Bangkok no one can tell me Jack shit what the reason of delay is, Now on overstay as of 12th september. SO WHAT DO I DO NOW HAND MYSELF IN TO IMMIGRATION OR GO BACK TO UK EMBASSY AND REFUSE TO LEAVE TILL I GET ANSWERS

So the school won't pay for your work permit,so you say you won't be going back next semester,sounds like you have thrown your dummy out of the pram.3 things come to mind (1) do you have a valid visa ie non b or non o visa,(2) are you in it for the money (3) working here illegally So yes you are being unreasonable. You have a job but no work permit, the school could easily report you to immigration so don't bite the hand that feeds you or rock the boat.

British Embassy consular section,very helpful.They are going to look into my case and get back to me asap,so another week which will make it 16 weeks and counting on Thursday.So even if it is resolved another 1 week to print it,then send to Trendy and stuck there for a feww weeks.Looks like i will beat 18 weeks easy.

Little boys pet rabbit dies whilst son is at school,father thinks our lad will be distraught about this,so he goes to the pet shop and tries to get another rabbit,but the shopkeepers says,sorry pal we have not got any rabbits left,but here take this bottle of liquid and when you get home pour it over the rabbit,so the dad does exactly what the pet shop owner says,and lo and behold the rabbit comes back to life, he goes back to thank the pet shop owner ,and the owner says it's ok i had a few bottles or hare restorer left.

well i am of to the British Embassy tonight,hoping to be there nice and early and to give em merry hell.I am now o my 3 rd day overstay and not a phone call or anything from HMPO overseas collegues,so i am going in perso to demand some action as i am a british citizen and expect this cuckooo civil service to help me,and i am not leaving until i get a bloody good reason why i have to have an interview and further checks .

i followed the guidelines to the letter,but as of March this year,you did not have to put proof of address as the passport was being sent back to trend in bangkok
