This is terrible news. I thought the religious violence did not affect tourist areas but looks like that may be changing.
RIP to those who lost their lives.
for heaven's sake - read the the OP!!!!
Ok taggart.

Where should one look to flag a songtheaw that will stop off by the zoo?

Based on some BM's reccomendations id like to go to see the Elephant Recovery Centre. I think i'll get the bus from Chiang Mai but once I get there are there plenty of taxis/tuk tuk's around to take us to the elephant camp? Just want to see how much of a hassle it is else i'll opt for someone not so out of the way.
Thanks

Ok cheers.

Thanks for making this great video. What elephant park was that at 07:18? Was that Mae Sa?

Thanks all
And you'll continue to get smart@ss replies until you can clarify your exact destination from Loi Kroh Rd.
Raming lodge hotel. I looked up the route on google maps, came to about 20 mins.

Looks like a bit of a long walk. Is a tuk tuk/taxi the best way to get there? And just so I don't get ripped off how much should one be paying for that sort of distance?
Cheers

Sorry yes I should have mentioned, im in the UK. :-) I got it on contract with 3UK.

I got one last week. I have come from 3 years of using iphones and I am not really missing it that much tbh. The galaxy nexus is hardware allcelerated and it really shows.

I quote you " Another reason why i ask is this, back in uk my wife has had lots of thai friends, maybe 50-60 girls she has come across or had a night out with, out of them girls i have met only 1who admitted she worked in a bar "
Admitted to who ?
o
We falang are often naive and ignorant of a lot of things related to Thailand. But I don't think a Thai can be fooled, that's why I ask the question.
O
"a thai cant be fooled" Just tell them that santa clause is real then wait for the reply ok :-)
What is up with this? I was speaking with someone rhe other day and i was joking around that I had grown a beard ala Santa (she hates beards and I was mucking around). Next thing I know she is saying "teerak I want see santa claus jing jing".

Ill be there in just over 2 weeks. Happy days.
-
Yeah thought so. As it turns out they agreed to hold the reservation for me until I arrive in Bangkok. I have a 5 hour wait till my flight to Chiang Mai so ill pay it then, in cash too. :-)
-
Holy sh that is huge!!! How fast does that thing move?
-
Thats the address the mail came from so it looks all legit. Do you think they will let me keep the reservation and just pay it in person when I arrive? If so then that would be my preference. Will see what other responses pop up here.
Cheers

Ok so to give you some background info I have a return flight from Bangkok to Samui in a few weeks booked. I emailed them to see if there was any space on the flight left for someone who wants to come with me. I could have booked them a separate flight but would have had to pay cash when i got there as the cardholder needs to be on the flight.
Anyway they said their was space on my flight and made a reservation for her. On top of this I changed my flight to one way only as I'm going to Ubon after but will go via Surat Thani so asked them if any refund would be forthcoming.
They said they have processed a refund for around half the amount and made the extra booking for my guest.
In terms of the extra payment I was expecting to be sent some sort of secure link from which to pay. Instead they have asked me to provide them with my card number details in 2 mails, the first consisting of the card type, first 8 digits of the card number and expiry date and the 2nd consisting of the last 8 digits of the card number and 3 digit card security code on the back.
I'm a little apprehensive about this. What do you all think? Anyone been through anything similar with them before?
Thanks

I had a play with the 800 today was quite impressed. They are late to the game but I think they have the foundation for a great OS in 7.5. It really struck me as fresh the same way as iphone first did. Whether they can get devs interested in them to start producing some decent apps is another matter.

It's probably been mentioned before but what if the customer takes pics of the jetski before they even get on it. That was there is surely no chance of any stunts being pulled?

Let's try this over in the Health forum.
Topic Moved.
Ok thanks I'll ask over there.
Think he meant he would move this over there, as oppose to you starting a new thread. :-p

I'm astmatic so when I come i'll be bringing in ventolin. Hope no one kicks off.

Ok thanks. I've since looked at the CDC and WHO sites and they both concur with the above. I'm going to be using some mosquito patches too, supposedly better than spray as they cover your whole body as oppose to only spryed areas but I'm not too keen on DEET.

Apologies, hope I didn't offend anyone. I've said enough on this topic now so will no longer comment in this thread.
Thanks
