  1. @@ gery1011: I would say that Thailand Elite is the best solution if you want to avoid the hassles of getting a long term visa,

I agree full with you. This was the major point for me. In my opinion 500k Baht is the worth of it.

Spent almost the same amount the past few years with Visa runs flying out/in - not talking from the time I have wasted at the airports.

I know TE only for 3 months and from the forum here that´s why I made it not earlier.

  2. The final point was clearly explained from serveral posters.

    What do you think about?

You also don't want to believe a well respected encyclopedia page but would rather throw out some random thing, without links but demanding them from me, that you heard from an anonymous internet poster .... ?

More lilke one obnoxious poster actually. No problem, stick with the well respect encyclopedia, , make it your law.

From JohnThailand: Any border agent can deny entry to anyone "they feel" or they "suspect" is an undesirable or is not a valid tourist or a host of other reasons.

    He is 100% right.

Even if you have no return ticket/hotel bookings, the immigration staff can deny the entry. It´s all in the officers hand.

  3. Any border agent can deny entry to anyone "they feel" or they "suspect" is an undesirable or is not a valid tourist or a host of other reasons. There is no court at the border to appeal to. Start mouthing off to an immigration officer and piss one off either here or anywhere else and see if you get into that country. So yea, while they may have a check-box to indicate something different, the reason can be as simple as you pissed them off ... just understand it is at their discretion.

I am not going to spend much time trying to educate you because if you want the knowledge it is readily available on the net ...

"even if you've arranged a visa for a country in advance, this does not mean you are entitled to enter. The final decision is made by the immigration officer at the border." ... http://wikitravel.org/en/Visa

That is the case for people that arrives by air. I've learnt that from this forum Mods and Admins.

  4. Excellent and timely update. There's been some of the TE detractors posting disingenuous claims that because of the 'rush' of possibly dodgy applicants, the approvals and issuing of visas was taking much longer with more people getting refused.

That sounds strange for me. Once TE got the pament I got the following email:

"Thank you very much for membership fee I will check with account team and will get back you on Monday due to account team on training. Please give me advice when you would like to get visa. "

Had an appointment 1 pm today. The guy who managed everything was on time and the Visa process took not longer then 15 minutes. I even not sign any document at the Immigration.

I just read this topic http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/777261-phuket-immigration-warns-of-education-visa-crackdown/ and other horrible Visa story´s. Now I feel safe and confirmed that I did everything right.

  5. He is like a spoilt brat, reform is indeed needed to prevent people like this getting away with things like this

He is the reformer. The rest is worse than you know.

@@ rabas: You should use your own brain and not your girl firends

  6. He can only blame himself, no helmet, too fast , drink too much etc..

    Still RIP .

Why do you know all this things? You guess......Thats it.

For a few weeks ago we had here "a police man shot to a motor bike driver"

Maybe a drunken motor car driver cut his way, maybe another motor bike cross him without lights in his lane and he was trying to avoid him.

Maybe a dog on the road. Who knows?

Why do you think always bad from other´s?

I don´t care if he was Russian, black/white or a muslime. He was a youngster and he died with 30 years. Some of you guys have no respect at all.

  7. @@ Firemedic - Good man and nice action. Be careful I don´t want you come in trouble with the taxi mafia.

I was living for 2 years in Phuket. I know it is a mess especially when you are arriving after 8 or 9 pm at the airport. In my mind we can only warn others

    using the web.

For example what I am doing, If I stay in Thailand in a hotel I leave a feedback on websites such as holidaycheck or tripadvisor. My last sentence:

"Don´t use a Tuk Tuk in Phuket, do not ride a Jet ski in Pattaya." Google for: tuk tuk phuket I am pretty sure hundreds of Thailand tourists are reading it.

Any way good luck for all guys who are living in Phuket.

  8. Once again if you have booked through a travel agent or booking engine like expedia for example then there is no way the passenger has to show the credit card used for booking.

How is the airline to know by which means you paid (cc, debit card, cash etc.).

So it's only airlines that ask for the credit card if you have booked online with the airline itself. Some do some don't.

    Yermanee wai.gif

That´s right. I can confirm it.

  9. If you book Thai air flight with a credit card you have to present the credit card at the check in. The credit card holder must be the passenger. If I book a flight for my son and I pay with my credit card (online) I have to go to a Thai Airways office

with my passsport and cc present it and sign a document. Thats it and my son can fly without showing the card.

Emirates, Etihad, Air Asia, Bangkok Air, Air Berlin do not ask for a credit card at the check in.

  10. Well this is a loser topic coming from Germany.

They had a lot of elections that resulted in millions of early deaths.

You would think with their experience they would have some words of caution for elections.

You, Sir, are a fool. What "a lot of elections" are you referring to? What "millions of deaths" do you mean in case you are referring to our history after 1945? Is it perhaps conceivable for you to make a distinction between a totalitarian regime (where we also have to look at the historical circumstances that led to it) and a post-war Germany that is very well aware of its past mistakes and where the Nazi period is covered extensively in class?

Germany has been a very well educated democracy for almost 70 years. Are you a drunkard? Or just plain ignorant?

@@ misterwhisper - Just ignore him, may you are right and he is drunk. Tomorrow he doesn´t remember what he wrote. When I was thirteen years old my grandfather was teaching me, you can not discuss with stupid people. Here in Thailand you find a lot. In my mind 80% looser´s and brainless. A well educated person will never wrote such a rubbish like this. The complete post prove it.

  11. Germans need to shut up and mind their own business.

    Why?

60 million dead 5 of my family and bombing my mother good enough for you, then the STASI abuses I don't think the Thais need any help from germans thank you.

Germans invading Afghanistan robbing the Greeks their border brothels their meddling in Ukraine.

    Arbeit macht frei nie wieder

They should be thankful the Americans didn't nuke their heimat instead chose the defenceless Catholics of Nagasaki.

I think when Thais or anybody else needs advice from Germans they will ask, thank you.

    Sonst noch?

Have you ever been in school?

  12. A slap in the face for the Yellow Whistle Mob.

    Isn't Hitler from Germany?

How dare these German suggest what Thai should or should not do.

No shame. Go look into your own history first.

Do you know in which year we live?

    Btw. Adolf H. was Austrian.
