  1. Wholly bombastic and clearly sophomoric. - Checks all the boxes for admittance to the beer bars of Soi Bukhao. Welcome to club Pattaya Strange.
  2. Hopefully they won't all be taken someplace, piled up and burned...
  3. Hardly, California is ground zero for some of the most important scientific and technological breakthroughs and inovations of the last century. It's population, especially in places like the Bay Area has an extremely high intelligence rate. per capita. 2. San Jose, California It is no surprise that the San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara region made it to the second spot on the list of smartest cities in the US. The city boasts an impressive 82% of its residents holding a bachelor’s degree or higher. This achievement can be attributed to the area’s esteemed schools and universities, including Stanford University, San Jose State University and the University of Silicon Valley. A strong focus on education and access to higher learning contributes to its reputation as a hub of high-tech innovation. The city is also home to many high-tech giants like Apple, Google, and Facebook. I can see that, though, people who believe that the moon landings were faked, the earth is flat, certain orange skinned self proclaimed billionaires make good world leaders and that UFO's and alien visitations occur regularly would probably not like California .. cause they would feel very lonely and not among kindred misguided and uninformed individuals.
  4. New airline money saving strategy. Let the passengers monitor the health of the aircraft. it's good that the airline let the passengers participate in monitoring the health of the aircraft.. Usually it's the flight crews job to identify that the engine has blown up, but what ever it takes to make sure Por is safe!!
  5. The fresh aroma of stewing sewage on Soi Bukhao has it's attraction for some people I guess. I've lived in Pattaya on and off for over 10 years. An unusually high percentage of the expat population qualify to be under professional psychiatric evaluation IMHO. My friends and I call them "The Pattaya Strange"
  6. Ah Soi Bukhao, the destination of choice for the vacation of a lifetime.. no matter how short it may be.
  7. Thick stack of papers for that office. Wow. All used passport pages? Whatever happened to ID page, latest Non-O stamp and latest entry exit stamp and latest extension stamp? What does CW Division1 require? What office do you use? Province office? Incidentaly my experience at CW Division 1 is that if one uses a FCD account to show money there is no requirement for the "credit advice" letter. I could not get one at Bangkok Bank for my FCD but was granted my initial Non-O using just the account ID authentication statement and the official transactions statement document. No credit advice letter required. I think this would also be the case for the extensions as well.
  8. wow! taxation of foreign income from abroad starting in 2024 and one also cannot buy a condo unless showing proof the money is from abroad? So discouraging. I didn't know it but I think the best thing I did for myself to keep living in Thailand was to open an FCD account and not convert to THB unless I need it. Seems to be the right move in a lot of situations.
  9. Rather than try to guess what this taxation business is all gonna look like I think it's time I wire a bunch more cash to my Thai bank account .. geez.. what a mess. I hate to do it but I think i'm gonna wire a full years expenses into Thailand next week. Using my international visa card whenever possible is probably gonna save my butt from this mess. Wow, what next? It's looking like Philippines or South America maybe a choice if this ramping up of hoops to jump through continues. Any news on what the tax rate will be??
  10. Wow really??. the air is very very thin at that altitude.. Are you sure about this??
  11. Usually it's the flight crews job to identify that the engine has blown up, but hey, it's good that the airline let the passengers participate in monitoring the health of the aircraft.. what ever it takes to make sure Por is safe!!
  12. It seems to have gotten your attention . The irony is that I don't drink anymore at all. I had a problem with it. I happened to quit pot several years before I quit drinking. I finally had to be honest with myself. Why did I feel the need to alter my consciousness with blunt edged chemicals like alcohol and weed etc. What was wrong with me that I sought alcohol and drugs to feel good? Why wasn't I comfortable without their use? Ultimately I sought spirituality which, when I a practice it, provides far more contentment and inner peace than any drug could ever provide. Sometimes I fail at my application of spirituality. Some of my comments on this thread are an example of me digressing and becoming somewhat judgemental. I still have my faults. Apologies to those who I may have offended.
  13. People are entitled to their trials and errors? How about this. Let's let younger people also experiment with smoking opium while were at it. Their entitled to their trials and errors in life .. better they find out by trial and error and learn that it's not a good idea, rather than have the governement perform it's duty and regulate it's use for the good of society as a whole?? So, perhaps you believe children (younger people) should be allowed to purchase firearms and entitled to their learn from their own mistakes with guns? WTF?... geez .. unbelievable. do you also believe the earth is flat? I'm done, discussion has lost all connection with reality. Logic has left the building folks and so will I.
  14. Anyway listen, I'm not into making any enemies or causing problems. It's pretty plain to me that casual use of marijuana is just not a good idea for society at large and specifically bad for young people. it's use for the benefit of certain ailments. Sure no problem. I'm done with this discussion and my apologies to anyone offended. Please be careful with use of drugs.
  15. So, I'm the only casual pot smoker that experienced THC induced paranoia? Come on man. THC is a refined and very predictable hallucinogenic? Again, you are kidding right?
  16. You got one go to line "nature intended" pretty thin there buddy. Do you own a pot shop? or a Pot cafe? You haven't once mentioned why you are a proponent and if you personally use it for a specific medicinal purpose -- which by the way I have no problem with as long as there has been plenty of research done and it's use greatly out weighs the side effects ( of which there are many). My use of pot was casual for about 9 years as an adolescent and into adult hood. Probably a couple hits every other day. There have been many studies done (quite easily done I might ad) which conclude THC's adverse effects on brain function especially on developing minds. My use of it never changed. For awhile it was fun ... but at some point it started to have a very negative psychological effect. My use didn't change. I am no Doctor but I wager that my physiology and brain chemistry was probably altered over time and the active ingredient, THC became a source of THC induced paranoia. People who are "recreational" users of the drug and other mind altering substances IMHO would do well to ask themselves why they need a drug/substance/chemical etc to feel good... what is wrong with how they are without it? Why is it they feel the need to alter their feelings/emotions/state of mind with a blunt mind altering substance. Why aren't they happy without it? For those who have identifiable mental illness self medicating on THC or other blunt mind altering substances is very dangerous. Is this what "nature intended?" Put that in your bong and smoke it. If you are not a Doctor and specialist in the workings of the human brain and it's vast complexity along with many years of clinical research all your rhetoric is just plain BS.
  17. Meth occurs naturally .... in my sisters friends husbands garage bathtub in Louisville Kentucky. Kind of a sad fact is that most drug addicts will defend use of their substance of dependency to the end. Substance abuse is no joke and most people become dependent long before they even realize the dependency.
  18. None of you proponents of pot have answered my question. All of you side stepped the question. Didn't give a rational answer. HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT "NATURE INTENDED" POT TO BE USED AS A DRUG ANY MORE THAN BOOZE or COCAINE OR HEROIN OR OPIUM.
  19. Yea, I'm really embarrassed. Forgive me, your reason and logic is beyond compare. LOL!
  20. No, your answers only make sense to you I reckon or others who buy into the BS.
  21. Not to anyone who actually has a moderate understanding of how to reason or understands the scientific method. Tobacco leaves are naturally occurring in nature too. What do you think about nicotine use? Cherry, pear and peach pits naturally occur? What about that? I'm done .. what a waste of time.. The fact remains that long term effects of most of these drugs you describing are detrimental to human beings.
  22. Didn't answer my question. Most of you guys that are proponents of pot like to say that pot is a "natural" occurring medicine. And that "nature intended" it to be used by humans. Again the question is. HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT? HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT "NATURE INTENDED" POT TO BE USED AS A DRUG ANY MORE THAN BOOZE or COCAINE OR HEROIN ETC ... my point is there is NO WAY YOU CAN SUBSTANTIATE THIS CLAIM. Anybody with more than a grade school education who understands English and has a moderate ability to reason will understand that no person can substantiate this claim that "Nature Intended" Pot to be used as medicine or for recreational use. Crushed pear, peach or cheery pits are naturally occurring in nature.. Anyone want to try eating that?
  23. Again, this is your opinion. Alcohol does not naturally occur in nature any more or less than cocaine.. Humans intervened. Humans intervened in eating or smoking the leaves of plants. This is pot head logic. How exactly do you know that "nature intended" pot leafs and flowers to be smoked and coca leafs to be chewed.. complete BS
  24. This is not an answer to my question. Clear indication you will not concede your logic and comments are flawed.
