  1. Something I was thinking about IF i went ahead and purchased but you still have the significant corrosion problem in the doors. Four Thai Ford Everest Facebook members report this issue. In the Australian Ford Everest Group one member reports that two of the new replacement doors ordered by their dealership arrived with corrosion!
  2. One creative owner on the Thai Ford Everest Facebook page has this remedy: https://www.facebook.com/groups/EverestClubThailand/posts/2900730083535234/ Its in Thai but the pictures are explanatory.
  3. My interest in this issue is because I am considering buying a used Everest and was doing some research for what to look out for when looking at used cars. The problem with the rear hatch is water leaking into that area. It should not be getting wet but it does. On later models Ford applied a white sealant between the frame and the rubber seal to reduce the problem but it has made no difference. You can see it in this image highlighted by the rust! So ugly and a cheap cheap solution by Ford. The water still gets in.
  4. I had a look at the Thailand Everest FB page and found many complaints about rust but not the same as Australia. I did find 4 owners reporting rust on door edges but 12 reported rust on the lower sill of the rear hatch. Model years 2015-18. Some photos. Have you the same issue? It can be hidden behind the rubber seal but the problem appears to be water leaking into the sill.
  5. Nokair have flights to U-Tapao in August. No flights available after the end of August. Price rather high at 6,000 one way
  6. My reason for asking is we have an engineer traveling from Europe to do some work for us and he will be using the Sandbox before flying to Bangkok or maybe U-Tapao. I want to make sure his planning is based on the most up to date information. I will also be using the Sandbox in the first week of November.
  7. I read here: https://royalvacationdmc.com/blog/phuket-sandbox/ "Guests must stay at least 14 Nights in Phuket before traveling to any other Province around the Country. They will need to do an RT PCR test 72 hours prior to Departure. In addition, they must present it with the COVID 19 Vaccination certificate to the Checking Point at this Destination. " Is this correct? I am thinking of someone who will do their 12 day test on 29 September, Night 14 is 1 October, so they will fly to Bangkok (if available by then) on 2 October. If they have their Day 12 test in the morning of 29th and fly to Bangkok in the afternoon of 2nd, they cannot rely on their 12 Day test to meet this requirement for a clear RT PCR test for onward travel as it is more than 72 hours So in this example he should try to do his Day 12 test as late as possible so it falls within the 72 hour rule, or fly as early as possible on 2 October. Or do another RT PCR test.
  8. Yes, it would be interesting to see how much they charge extra for 100% cover
  9. I have been getting online insurance quote for a possible future purchase of a used Everest. Value would be about 1,050,000 but cover is only for 850-880,000 is it possible to get the full value of the car covered? Is the 850-880k based on the Red Book value or do insurance only offer 80% cover?
  10. Yes, I didn't know what a EGR cooler was until I read the posts.
  11. I have been reading comments on the Australian Everest Club Facebook page where a number of members have reported rust on the inside of doors and the rear hatch that appears 3-5 years from new. Seems to be mostly 2015-17 models. It appears to be a widely known problem and in many cases Ford is replacing all the doors even out of waranty. Has anyone experienced this here in Thailand? I ask as I am thinking about purchasing a used Everest.
