  1. So, how many cheerleaders on here still think that corruption on high levels is gone?

Does anyone think that a certain color of shirt has consistently been favored, and another color of shirt chased down for various things?

Where are those people who think that this is the greatest thing since sliced bread?

Do some people still think there will be fundamental change, or is it becoming apparent that it's just the other side in charge now?

Exactly, I am losing more hope in any actual change on a daily basis.

From Phuket forums, Airport meter taxis now charging more than previous mafia.. Old taxi mafia had to adjust their prices up...... facepalm.gif

Corruption still seems to be going pretty well.

Koh Tao cases and possible high end cover up...

Same old same old it seems as per this article from The Diplomat website

    http://thediplomat.com/2014/10/thai-junta-beset-by-corruption-scandals/

  2. The DNA from the two men comes from a cigarette they had both smoked. That is the hottest lead the investigation has.

    Actually in proper order:

They stated at beginning that they found same DNA on a cigarette butt than they found in victim.

They tested the 2 guys and never declared a match during the big round of testing.

Then last Thursday they said the two guys tested positive..

  3. To me there are only 2 outcomes:

    1. The 2 Burmese did it, or

    2. If they didn't do it, they have been placed close enough to the scene and time such that at 4 AM they would have seen and/or observed commotion to an extent much more than they seem to have revealed.

    3. a Thai "Boss" lost face and wanted revenge, got his 2 subordinates to subdue the couple, had his way first (naturally), then allowed his lackeys to have their turns and dispose of the evidence. The Boss's family find out and are horrified, send the Boss to BKK and get others to fabricate "video" and "paper" alibis. Boss's family make secret deals with the K Tao police and with the 2 minions, whilst publicly claiming to forget how to get in contact with the relative. Then miraculously the Boss surfaces (on cue), feigning being too busy studying to look at his phone and to notice the wall-to-wall news.

    4. Something completely different.

    5. The police version is the gospel truth.

I am so thinking along the same line though I would have added:

2 minions got covered during the first round of DNA tests

when the heat started to get too high, they were then scapegoated and made to confess being the sole perpetrators of the murder.

Another thought I had, Mc Senna could have been there, witness the encounter, enter the fight and try to defend them, got hurt, run from the scene, good reason to threaten to kill him afterward..

    just thoughts obviously..

  4. If the DNA test was positive that's that. Only other explanation is that it was introduced afterwards.

Sent from my i-mobile IQ 1 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

Thing is it seems that those two were amongst the 200 that were tested the week before and there was no mention of any positive match at the time after over 4-5 days....

Did match the week after in a record time though (12h or something?)...

  5. God I love this place !!!!! So far out of sync from reality sometimes I feel

I am on another planet...... But always amusing. :-) Pay bribes to not

receive bribes. You could not possibility make this stuff up...

No you couldn't make this up. I know the BIB, especially the junior ranks, don't earn much of an official salary which is something to be addressed by the govt and now they can get a bonus for doing their job.

Officer Somchai needs a bribe of Bt 200 x by 50 drivers to make Bt 10,000 but if he arrests just i driver he is on for the 10,000 and let's not talk about evidence.

Now let's wait to see if arrests for ' attempting to bribe ' suddenly rise which will of course be touted as a great success.

Will senior officers ever question why Officer Somchai and his colleagues are suddenly making so many arrests for the same offence which has never happened before ?

No, the stats are what's wanted.

Except that with this big new Win-Win policy for the BIB it could now process as follow:

    - New price is 500 THB now, not 200 THB anymore

    - Refuse to pay 500 = reported for 10,000..... whistling.gif

  6. latest reporting is (andrew drummond), police suggested HW and DM were kissing. nothing about sex between them anymore.

And the condom is a whole other story of it's own. That neither the police nor the Burmese can explain.

Saw a theory on CSI LA.

Someone seems to think that the burmese guys did rape her but they were not alone; supervised by someone who use the condom and then killed the couple...

  7. On another thread I saw people asking for pictures of those two poor guys so they could see traces of torture....

News to you: the new and most effective torture nowadays is called waterboarding (use aplenty by USA) and does not leave any traces as it is just water poured over the victim giving him sensation of downing....

    Google for more details

    Now, Migrant worker.....

    My A==

Lucky if you are retired but I am working here and I try my upmost to stay off anything that would go in the way of my work

Those maymar guys are here to send money to their family back home....

They are not here to <deleted>> around but to work, make small money and help their kin...

As such, low profile, dont mix with foreigners, dont make a mistake

I do not believe that story even a single second

  8. What a ridiculous idea! They are simply adding an insult to injury. However, foolish farangs will probably go long with it and make already rich village headman and his whole family even richer.

I was thinking something similar. How much will go to providing security and how much will be skimmed off by the influential families?

Might just be a special fee to ensure than the above and their police friends do not kill you.

Pay, take your wristband and we will try not to kill you.....

    "MAKE SURE you wear it!!!!"

  9. They are not going to call it an entrance fee - it is "protection money"

Entrance fee might work if planned properly....

    News from last few days:

    - Wristbands on foreigners.

    - Looking for big Project for Koh Tao

    - Entrance fee.....

    - Murders

They are hinting at a full scale "Kill the Farang" Theme Park Island me think.

Double price entrance fee for foreigners obviously, park them, tag them, hunt them..... w00t.gif

TAT campaign: come dive a little before experiencing the real hunt, meet the friendly locals, free harpoon provided..

The hunger games are so yesterday....

Nearly pissed on myself in the office... biggrin.png

  11. Tag them , herd them.... Gives an all new meaning to Issan buffalo /Cash-cow cheesy.gif

I have actually a much better id to mull: special new campaign:

We will send them back after two weeks all expenses paid together with your holiday's pictures"....

Thai RECALL agencies: beautiful photos souvenirs without leaving the safety of your home clap2.gif

  12. Really wish some TV moderator made some sort of a time line (special thread maybe) about the different statements that have been made over two weeks:

    Its a foreigner

    its a Birman

we are closing in on thusday

    We will arrest them wedsndsay

    Could be a local

    Maybe is not a local

    Sean had blood on guitar..

    Its a foreigner...

Army is registering all alien workers

    Alien has landed...

Alien is cleared; he only killed predator...

we start from begiining but have many clues...

    less statement, more truth please

  13. I can't understand why anyone would bother to comment on these endless official statements day after day - isn't there a very good chance that they are all just bolocks ?

Definitely agree with you on the last part...

For the first part, maybe because TV posters actually relate personnally to that event and would like the real truth to come out for the sake of the country where they live in, invest in, have children in...

Children whom one day may want to go to KT....

  14. I myself will not go near that island, nor support a single business on that island until somebody is brought to trial.

That is my little protest in support of David and Hannah and their families. 1 person multiplied has a big voice.

100 % with you on that one....

Been planning to visit for a year for 2-3 days with wife and baby...

Definitely not gonna give money to any mafia there...

  15. Also don't be surprised if the focus of attention turns to Sean. There is still much to be said because many fingers point to him.

Nothing new in what you've reported from the Thai news sources. We heard it long ago.

Yes, there are a lot of Thai fingers pointing at Sean because they probably prefer a farang was involved. The DNA points at an Asian/s being involved.

A gruesome murder like this requires a motive that I don't believe Sean had. He spoke highly of David in his interview.

As for Sean being covered in blood and requiring assistance to have it cleaned off- if you murdered someone, would you go and ask someone to clean the blood off your body? I believe this was fabricated/trumped up by the people involved.

I do agreethat the Sean story is not very clear:

    - Blood stains on the guitar look like splashes rather dripping from personal wounds, though it would be rather silly not to wash those splashes if he was really involved.

    - He apparently lived 18 months in KT so he must know some locals so yes he could have been involved; but

    - even if he knew some locals (if locals did it); I do not believe locals would trust a foreigner enough to let a foreigner be involved in such gruesome murder.

    - Am indeed surprised that he hasn't come forward with some details since a week that he left KT; which somehow still makes him suspicious...

Too many twists in this story and too much has not been analyzed properly or too many things that remain unanswered like the man running away from scene with victim's pants on...
