Last week ago here in Pattaya, I saw a guy about 12 years old driving one barefooted with 2 of his friends on it with him. If he was not wearing shoes then you know they were definitely not wearing helmets.

I will be happy to take a test to get the 5 year license. I have had many 2 year licenses and 1 year licenses before that. Now I get the 5 year visa and they tell me I can still only get a 2 year license. Make that make sense. Meanwhile, people with a 1 year visa can get a 5 year license.

Buying a new car soon and worry about a residency permit which is needed to put the car in your name.  Could always put it in the wife's name but that creates other issues when I cross boarders.  Anyone out there that got a residency permit on a tourist visa/DTV?

All you need for a residency certificate is a copy if the lease where you stay. I have bought 2 motorbikes and gotten many driver's licenses only being stamped in as a tourist.

Just woke up to mine being approved after so many hoops. I started the process 5 August. US price was $400.

I booked a flight with them at the start of covid. Covid broke out and everything canceled, but they did not want to refund my money. They ended up giving me 1/3 of it back.

I think they were going to Utapao as a fuel stop anyway, but as they were preparing to land, there was a problem with the gear.
