  1. Let us count.

She placed the bank notes close to the opening through the front window of the booth( 50 x 100 $)

She grabbed them back and notes equating to around 100,000 Baht in value was missing which means 30 x 100$ was missing.

60% of the bank notes gone and she didn´t notice that.

Maybe they took 1 bank note and run away and here she take the chance to make some extra money and who is going to believe the tourists when police arrest them.

  2. The Rohinghya issue is just small fry. What about the trafficking of thousands of Thai prostitutes domestic and international thats being going on for decades.

Politicans and gov officals profit greatly from it.

Maybe foreign diplomats say nothing because they've paid for Thai hookers in executive bars and brothels around the world.

There is no prostitution in Thailand.

    Didn´t you get the memo?

  3. Its all part of TAT/Government and Thai Banks welcome to the Land of the smiles advertisement ...

When all those happy tourists arrive for their joili hols (actually not so many now?)they are invited to withdraw their hard earned dosh from those nice ATMs and be charged a fee and that's ...before they even get a chance to spend any of their Moolah....

Gives them an idea of whats to come.....eh

Hence the "Land of the Smiles"...TATs /Gov and Banks (all smiling)....Kop Koon Jao...

Yes it's only Thai banks that try to make a profit when providing a service. Banks in other countries are run as charitable organizations.

But charging 150-180 Baht is robbery .

  4. Transfered to HQ.

    Joke of a country.

    smile.png

They have showed such potential, they've been promoted to the big league.

A transfer to HQ does not necessarely mean that will be all.

Transfer to HQ is just the first step...............

I do hope you are right, however, in my eight years in Thailand I have read and heard numerous stories about officials having been caught red-handed and then transferred to an inactive post...I just can't seem to remember any follow-up info on those cases (officer reinstated, case dismissed, officer fired, trial), maybe it's just my bad memory, but I have a nagging suspicion that these transfers are done so that everyone forgets...and then business as usual...

A transfer to HQ for these guys is very bad, it is like life without parole.

    Why?

Because they used to make millions but they will make 0 baht in the future. They will have survive on the cop salary which maybe 30-40 K baht / month for a senior officer.

  5. I love this part :

"Knowing he is likely facing a custodial sentence if he is found guilty of theft in Court, he begged Police to allow him to consume some of the stolen rum as this may be the last rum he will be able to consume for some time.

Even though the items were alleged to have been unlawfully taken, the Police allowed him to drink some of the rum before he was transferred to the Police Cells.

  6. I really love the kangaroo court that exists here in TV land… the Russian purportedly did the wrong thing full stop end of story.. just because the lady concerned had her daughter with her in the wee hours of the morning is totally besides the point and inconsequential to the Russians alleged actions….

How can we know and judge this lady just because she had her daughter with her.. perhaps her husband or boyfriend was working in a night club had too much to drink and called for her to come get him … doing the right thing she bought her daughter rather than leaving her in the house alone.. perhaps her daughter would accompany her Mum work during this holiday season as her partner was up country visiting relatives…..

I once took my 12 year old daughter to 7/11 near walking street at 5 am as I needed coffee and I was only one looking after her….. does this make me subject to suspicion or discussion as to my merits as a person…..

What a bunch of cynical judgemental armchair dwellers we have here…….

You were the only one looking after her ?? But you were not with her.

Obviously you did a good job thumbsup.gif.pagespeed.ce.dtxKiAJ9C7.gifclap2.gif

  7. Regardless of the time & location, this Russian scumbag's behavior was disgusting and a criminal act. Doesn't matter if it was at 4:30AM on Walking Street or 4:30PM at Siam Paragon, it's WRONG and ILLEGAL to grab a women's breast!

If you want to do that, go inside the bar and hire a lady to do that. Otherwise, it's sexual assault.

I can't believe some of you farangs here at ThaiVisa accually defend these Russian tourist!

    Who defended the russian?

The russian was an A-hole but that doesn't mean the woman's behaviour was ok.
