  1. Hopefully he's got enough saved for his Winter energy bill when he gets back home.
  2. Excellent law. Hopefully applies to abandoned construction projects too. Maybe they'll have a look at all of that land bought in Buriram a few years ago by a few individuals from PTP when it was the hot tip for relocating Bangkok.
  3. No where near a good enough reason to end up in jail, even if it's only lock up, in Thailand at 60 years of age.
  4. There was an Aussie banged up in Pattaya for a similar scam a few years ago. A purse left in a toilet for someone to pick up. Has also been done with iPhones. See it and leave it. It's not yours, why do you want to touch it? Being curious can be expensive.
  5. I've had this saved for a couple of years. It's pretty detailed and I doubt much has changed. Anyway, for what it's worth Is Bangkok Really Asia’s Startup Hub? – Navigating The Thailand BOI Process https://aseannewstoday.com/2017/is-bangkok-really-asias-startup-hub-navigating-the-thailand-boi-process/
  6. It's definitely getting hotter each year. The problem is many people have <deleted> memories. And Cambodia is reportedly even hotter according to a buddy over there. A couple of decent storms in PP over the last couple of weeks, but not as frequent as Bangkok. And after a big hot period expect a big wet season. Flotation devices ready.
  7. Just do the normal Indian deal. One pay, four free, and they'll have no more problems than the bar girls do in dealing with cheap Indian tourists.
  8. Syphilis free has been a requirement for WPs through the One Stop Service Centre for me for at least eight years. But the 10 minutes and Bt100 it takes to get the certificate from my local clinic doesn't include any more than a stethoscope exam to prove I'm still breathing (I guess). Personally I wouldn't be concerned. Tell your friend to get his certificate from a local clinic.
  9. Hopefully they've also received lessons during the quiet time on how to stamp them side-by-side so that you can get eight stamps to a page like Cambodia or Singapore does rather than (mostly female IOs) bang them in the middle of blank pages similar to India? ????
  10. Depending on your age and health consider a rescue dog from one of the shelters/ NGOs.
  11. Didn't even bother to look at the link, did you? Hans Kluge, the WHO’s Europe director, said the region had recorded more than 7m new cases in the first week of 2022, double the rate a fortnight previously, with more than 1% of the population catching Covid-19 each week in 26 countries. Sounds pretty exponential to me.
  12. I don't know where you're getting that statement from, but let's stick with the facts. The US reported 1.35 million cases yesterday, a global record. Meanwhile WHO says Omicron could infect 50% of Europeans in next two months. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/jan/11/omicron-europe-tidal-wave-who
  13. Correct. Nasal swabbing often misses Omicron because it has changed addresses. It is no longer binding as efficiently to the ACE2 receptors at the back of the nose. Instead it is largely binding to the epithelial cells at the back of the throat and lining the respiratory tract. Delta is still happy at the back of the nose though so both need to be swabbed. Self conducted tests are about 15% less accurate than those taken by a laboratory technician and about 10% less accurate than those taken by a medical professional.
  14. As Omicron has seen SARS-CoV-2 revert to being airborne transmissible amongst mice, further indicating its laboratory passing origins, I sincerely doubt than a non naturally endemic disease can become endemic. Just more changes ahead to make it more transmissible and virulent in people as it continues to deattenuate back to its highly-chimeric V-1000 form.
  15. Despite the propaganda, research to date has NOT shown any lasting immunity arising from prior infection and in fact suggests reinfection raises risks of both severe disease and Long Covid.
