  1. [simple-minded people come up with simple solutions, be they T or ???.

"We pledge before Allah that from now on, the infidel will suffer sleepless nights, the property they have robbed from us will be totally destroyed and their lives will face consequences for the sins they have committed. Their blood will be shed on the soil and flow into water."

People who are too weak to deal with real and present danger before it becomes too real and too present are usually killed while they're trying to come up with peaceful solutions.

  2. This backtracking and U-turning occurs when the international press are involved and speaks volumes about it's ability to influence Thailand. This happens time and time again whether it's bird flu or foreigners being murdered in Kanchanaburi. Seems like when news items are exclusively covered by Thai media, T is aggressive and intolerant... but bring in BBC, Reuters, et al.... and T is humble and apologetic. It really reveals how much T is desirous of playing on the world stage. In my opinion, the best of the Thai media is The Nation Group (Newspaper AND television).

Surely you're not so naive that you think foreign news teams would have been allowed to leave the area alive if Thaksin was serious about keeping the lid on ?

  3. Well.....I will continue to counter them here in the forum with my words.

You counter NOTHING JimJim, because no-one cares what you think.

Your best move would be to leave Thailand and go live in a nice happy country where you can freely espouse your seditious and treasonous support for raghead terrorist "underdogs" against awful "anti-Muslim" people like me without fear of being beaten or killed by police or soldiers. Good luck finding one where you don't have to grow a beard and dress Sunnah and make Salaah 5 times a day if you don't want to risk being beaten or killed by police or soldiers, you stupid little man.

  4. A southern Thai Muslim separatist group dormant since the 1980s said on Wednesday insurgents would take their fight to Bangkok to avenge the deaths of 78 Muslims in army custody in the deep south.

"Their capital will be burned down in the same way the Pattani capital has been burned," the Pattani United Liberation Organisation (PULO) said in a statement posted on its Web site.

The group, which is not thought to have an armed wing, was involved in a violent campaign in the 1970s and 1980s for an independent Muslim Kingdom of Pattani between southern Thailand and northern Malaysia.

"We pledge before Allah that from now on, the infidel will suffer sleepless nights, the property they have robbed from us will be totally destroyed and their lives will face consequences for the sins they have committed," the group said.

"Their blood will be shed on the soil and flow into water. Our weapon is fire and oil, fire and oil, fire and oil."

The most expedient solution is to round up PULO members and execute them all for sedition.

  5. and <deleted> burmese & hilltribes have actually fled their hometowns and flocked to thailand.  in fact, we've been trying to stop them coming in but without success ....

You don't seem to know much about your own country.

No attempt is made to prevent Buddhist Karen tribespeople from crossing into Thailand from Burma. They need no passport or visa, and are given refugee status the instant they set foot on Thai soil. They flee their homes and risk minefields and booby traps to escape "ethnic cleansing" by Christian Karen militias and Burmese troops. Thailand accepts them on humanitarian grounds.

Actually, in general it is the other way around. The Democratic Karen Buddhist Army (DKBA) cooperates with the Burmese military in return for special favors. The Christian Karens are the ones that are more stigmatized by the Burmese military because of their past closer relationship with the British. There are both Buddhist and Christian Karens in refugee camps, but in terms of the larger story, it is the DKBA that is on the side of the Burmese military (a/k/a - the government) and the Christian Karens who have an opposing militia. In terms of landmines, both sides are guilty of this, but if you want a long list of spectacular horrofics then you will have to turn to the Burmese government and their paid-off splinter groups.

You're talking about history Kat. I'm talking about last month.

The DKBA is a spin off group of only a few hundred Buddhist Karen who split with the KNU in the middle 1990s. Its ranks today include a few renegade Buddhist monks, and its professed raison d'etre is to create a Buddhist cleric government in the Shan. It's more like a group of bandits than a militia fighting for a cause, with booty and rape being the only rewards since the Burmese government cut off funds. Its members are hated by Buddhist and Christian Karen alike, but loved by SPDC and the Burmese Secret Police.

The Christian Karen National Union is by far the biggest and best armed ethnic group in the Shan, and in 2004 it is by far the most likely to kill you. The KNU claims to be a resistance army, but it is heavily involved in methamphetamine manufacture and smuggling and is listed by the CIA as "a violent and criminal religious based group". Fleeing Buddhist Karen are welcomed and given refugee status in Thailand. Christian Karen are treated with suspicion, and if armed can be shot on sight. If they reach the Thai side they are routinely interrogated by soldiers or the BPP, and those who don't come up with the right answers often disappear without a trace.

Don't believe everything you read in newspapers. The bad elements of both factions are tarred with the same brush.

  6. Pattanis are not Thai, they're Malay, an ethnic and religious minority living in a Buddhist country and tolerated by that country only as long as they behave in an acceptable civilized manner.

Since the start of 2004, Pattani dissidents have burned schools and desecrated shrines and shot monks and policemen on numerous occasions.

What response would you expect from Malaysian troops if you and several hundred Buddhists began a campaign of burning schools and desecrating mosques and shooting mullahs and policemen ?

What response would you expect from Saudi troops if you and several hundred Christians began a campaign of burning schools and desecrating mosques and shooting mullahs and policemen ?

Pattanis are heavily armed. They've stolen enough firepower to start a full scale war, and knowing this, Thai troops showed remarkable restraint. This time. Maybe next time they won't be so restrained.

  8. Mohammed Al Pasha was deposed in July 1848 on account of mental weakness...

His mental weakness was a side effect of his overwhelming obsession with being anally penetrated. He suffered from severe diverticulitis in later life, and died in extreme agony when his colon was ruptured during anal sex in August 1849.

  9. Then one day, while attending the Fire Boat Festival in Nakhorn Phanom, she just slipped her hand into mine while we were walking ahead of my wife and her friend.

Just hearing her calling me 'daddy' alone can sometimes lift me up way higher than cloud nine and makes me think that it's all been worth it. :o

    That is just so beautiful.

  10. The children almost all have Thai fathers and the girls are almost all former whores.

Exactly how do you define a whore?

The raghead troll knows what he's talking about Kat. When he thinks about his 7 brothers and sisters by 3,128 different possible fathers, the image of a whore immediately springs to his mind.

  11. I do not want to have any kids as I feel that the world just isn't a good place to bring kids up anymore

If everyone felt the same then the human race would become extinct in one generation.

I would like to experience natural childbirth before I'm too old. Sadly the scales are weighted against me. Copulation with a guy is just about out of the question, and government restrictions make IVF extremely difficult for women like me.

I'm considered perfect to fight and possiby die for my country, but I cannot even adopt a child while I live in Australia.

A de facto "village" adoption in a third world country is one way out, but it would make me an outcast, unable to return to my own country with my child.

Dad thinks IVF in Europe and childbirth in Australia is the best legal solution. He's probably right.

  12. My mother died giving birth to me.

When I was a little girl I was jealous of the kids who had mothers and angry because I had none, until my Sensei explained when I was 6 or 7 that if my mother had lived then my father would not have become the man I knew and loved. He's both father and mother to me. He always has been.

Dad says men are far more accepting of another man's child than women are of another woman's child, and this is why he never remarried.

  13. The source for the statement that condoms were not found protective was from JAMA (Journal of American Medical Association), 8/25/93

Was that the same JAMA that recommended Thalidomide for Morning Sickness ?

"In Thailand, the rate of infection has been particularly high among army units based in areas of northern Thailand adjacent to the Golden Triangle. In 1993, the prevalence rate among new recruits nationally reached 3.5 per cent, a seven-fold increase in five years.15Faced with evidenceof a widespread and worsening epidemic, Thailand initiated a country-wide education campaign that encouraged ‘safe sex’ through the use of condoms. Within five years, condom usage rose from 50 to 90 per cent and HIV infection rates began to drop dramatically. Indicative of the success of the safe sex campaign was the 80 per cent fall in the incidence of HIV among military recruits in northern Thailand after 1993. A further decline was recorded between 1995 and 1999."

According to the WHO, sex workers in Timor, Afghanistan, Iraq, and Thailand have been high risk HIV vectors for years. Since 2000 I've been in Timor, Afghanistan (twice), Iraq, and Thailand with guys who spent every free minute rooting local prostitutes. Every soldier was issued with condoms and told to use them in every sexual encounter. Every soldier was tested for HIV on his or her return to Australia. Not one tested HIV positive.

Condoms DO prevent HIV infection, both ways, if used correctly.

You are spreading false and dangerous information.

  14. Condoms are NOT protective of HIV in Thailand. Read the scientific journals and learn something for a change:

Which scientific journals ? The New Christian Scientist ? Modern Faith Healing ? The Miracles of Lourdes ? Playboy ?

Is Sheri one of those religious freaks who thinks God deliberately made HIV small enough to slip through the submicroscopic pores in condoms to rid the world of homosexuals ?

  15. 'North Mongoloid' and 'South Mongoloid'

The older generation of sociocultural anthropologists and geneticists like Cavalli-Sforza are linguistic dinosaurs.

"Mongoloid" has been the medical term used to describe Down Syndrome sufferers for more than a century, and as such it has become almost politically incorrect to use the word to describe natives of Mongolia.

I know you meant no offense, but we are "Mongols" or "Mongolian", never "Mongoloid". :o

  16. i have known my thai girlfreind approx 12 months and lived with her for about 2 months in thailand.having decided i wished to marry her,we arranged and carried out the budhist ceremony with her family present.i am now in the process of getting her sorted to apply for a settlement visa so i can marry her here with my family present.having read many tales on here and other sites, good and bad.i would be interested in anyones veiws of how seriously they take the budhist ceremony?

    cheers for any information

    schmokinn

Buddhists take the Buddhist ceremony very seriously. It is more important to us for our life's well being than the Western ceremony. It is not recognized as a valid marriage ceremony by many Western countries.

  17. What is fishy about my user name sTROLL ?

You registered shortly before Rod was suspended, at a time he knew he was considered to be overstepping the acceptable and anticipated the ban. Not only are you very familiar with Rod, you also continue to express the same sentiments, sounding like a Rod with amuffled voice.

I am also familiar with Rods postings, I esteem most of his comments very highly, but I'd say his compassion is clouded by anger and hate on occasions.

That's an even more idiotic reason for thinking I'm Rod than the "fascination with weapons" theory some other clownfish proposed last week. Excuse me for not registering 2 years ago and anticipating your stupid accusations.

You and the other "Katyusha is Rod" conspiracy theorists are posting just for the sake of flapping your lips. None of you have anything interesting to say.

  18. You will suggest I am logged on as katyusha on one computer and rod_kalashnikov on another, but the real explanation is that you are just an idiot who thinks he knows everything and sees conspiracies where none exist.

Plachon is not the only one suspecting there is something 'fishy' about your username and your use of proxys.

Talking about idiots, if you think listing who is logged in at a time proves anything either way, I wonder whose brain it is which suffers a shortcut.

What is fishy about my user name sTROLL ?

  19. I would be interested in knowing whether the majority of you believe this man should spend the rest of his life in prison or be given the death penalty ? If this story is true, he has condemned at least 450 "innocents" to a short, unhealthy life.

He has known he is HIV+ for 3 years.

He deliberately spread his disease, telling reporters; “In Chaiyaphum, I want to kill people." (http://www.nationmultimedia.com/search/page.arcview.php?clid=3&id=107666&date=2004-10-16&usrsess=)

He deserves to spend the rest of his life in solitary confinement, with no medical attention.

  20. Firstly, kindly let us know if you are seeing the world through the same eyes as our Rod (or perhaps, you are one and the same as Rod?) Certainly you both seem to have rather similar handles - Kalashnikov / Katyusha -suggesting a common weapons-bent like peas in a pod (or is it bullets in a barrel?). Reminds me of a cosy little Al-Quaida cell right here in TV.
