Recently at Index on the Lampang - CM Superhighway.

Farang is asking the young male assistant, in Thai - do you have this cabinet in white colour?

Reply - this is maple.

Farang asks again, calmly - yes I know this is maple, do you have it in white?

Reply - this is maple.

Farang points at white colour on next piece of furniture, his Thai wife asks again if the cabinet is available in white?

Reply - this is maple.

Then an older Thai lady shopper intervenes and blasted the young assistant, her voice can be heard across half the store. And she says in English to the farang and his wife, your question is very clear.

Supervisor is called by another staff member.

The older lady then tells the supervisor, in Thai, the cabinet right here is maple colour, but the farang wants to know if it's available in white. she repeats the question several ways to try to ensure the real question is understood.

Reply - I don't know, and she then tells the original young male assistant to take care of the customer and she walks away.

So this surprises you why ??.....

you know there is that legend in the tourism industry that Thais are renowned for their superior 5 star service.......this is true, but look behind the scenes that these 5 star premises are western and managed as such.......

Plenty of Thais do eat and will try lamb......I cooked a whole lamb on a spit at a thai do recently and the whole thing disappeared very quickly.....lucky I sliced off chunks to test it as it cooked so was full by the time it was ready....or woulda got zip.

Anyway, I hope he eventually gets bored of casinos -- basically a victimless type of crime -- and shines the light on some corruption that has actual living, breathing victims.

He isn't attacking Casinos per se, he is attacking police protecting/running them.

You know corruption is on every level of Thai society, even to get into a good school you have to hand a basket over and an envelope full of dosh to the principle. You can't wipe out corruption by cracking down on just police. What a joke ey. All Thai's are on the take there all corrupt it's just who they are.

There is a guy over on another forum complaining about a fat guy seated in 17b next to him, breath stunk, body odour, bad socks......all the guy in 17a said he wanted to do was look out his window to try to take his mind off of the stench........poor guy.

I do it all the time....as long as nothing coming.....and you may see a lot of signs saying ok to turn left at any time when safe.
